and died: September 15, 1963 (age 76) in Los Angeles, California, USA
He was especially known for his film music compositions, which were written for many
animation, documentary, and feature films from Walt Disney Studios, this music
from the Walt Disney's Soundtrack The Lady And The Tramp.
He won a Oscar for the movie Dumbo - together with Frank Churchill (1942 ).
Wallace also received four other Oscar nominations for the music to the film Victory
Through Air Power (1943), Cinderella (1950), Alice in Wonderland (1951), and White
Wilderness (1957).

This is pure romantic nostalgia - truly beautiful.
I think this is one of the "all time" greatest melodies ever written. Something I would love to hear is a "steel guitar" rendition of this song, it just begs to be played on a steel, with all the syrupy goodness it would bring to this song.
I can imagine being held by someone I love dancing a waltz to this romantic tune with the moon shining on the water of the lake in Italy with a gentle breeze carrying the perfume of the nearby flowers ..bliss.
If you can sit quietly on a moonlit tearrce... Maybe in Atrani, or Sorrento, or Posillipo.
And suddenly understand what this music is all about...
Then you'll know you have lived!... And that it was absolutely worth it!

My 93-year-old father, who was introduced to RUclips recently, came across this song. A few weeks ago he asked me to come and sit and listen to it with him. He wondered where the video was taken? Italy I guessed. Does anyone know for sure? He thought this song was beautiful and hummed it around the house my mom said until he fell ill a week ago and unexpectedly died. We played this song in his memorial video. ❤️
Most of this clip is taken from Amalfi coast,The most beautiful coastal route from Naple to Amalfi in southern Italy and the city on the end of clip is Positano.

Absolutely one of the most beautiful songs I have heard in a long time!
Made a nice little Italian dish last night, for a nice little Italian dish. Played this song along with a mix of other Italian songs. Prepared Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo, garlic bread (LIGHT on the garlic), with a tossed Caesar salad, and a "little" Chianti, served on a traditional red-checkered table cloth with candles. Topped off the meal with cannolis for dessert (Found them on top of the bakery counter, next to a staple gun. Yeah, ..."took the cannolis, left the gun").
And? What happened? Did you get lucky?
