You're very brave to do all that yourself. Well done!

Haha, thanks! Yeah, about half way through when the car was in bits it was looking a bit daunting, but it all came together in the end!

Brilliant job but what about warranty ? Sounds and looks like a difficult job

Not sure about the warranty tbh. I’m sure all the main things like battery/powertrain will still be covered, since they’re not affected by the install. But I’d say they’d be hesitant to fix any squeaks or rattles if I complained, since it did involve taking apart the interior.

Any reason why you didn’t go for the foot sensor? I’m tempted to go for the auto boot as tired having to keep banging that boot closed.
Does it ship from China? Any taxes due?

The foot sensor is a bit more complicated to install. A lot of videos showed that you had to take off the rear bumper to get it in and I didn’t fancy doing that! Not exactly sure where it shipped from, (apparently it was their European office) but there were no taxes due.

Thanks I’ve reached out to them and Tesla Offer. I think the foot sensor is actually quite easy if you look under your rear bumper there should be a hatch with a few clips which will save you taking off the bumper.

Yeah, I saw that after I had bought them 😂 Not too bothered about it anyway. Still a lot more convenient than what it used to be!

Don’t suppose you’d be willing to do the install for others less brave?! Would gladly pay someone to do this...

gibireland Haha, I had thought about it, but I’d be even more nervous doing it on someone else’s car I think! The part with the airbags is just so nerve wracking 😬

M3PRT fair enough, but if you change your mind let me know!

gibireland Will do. You’ll be first on the list! Power frunk video coming tomorrow which is way easier to install. In hindsight, would probably be better to start with that as a confidence builder for the trunk haha 😂
