What an innovative idea! I have been looking for a not so expensive solution (even though HL no longer offers coupons or other incentives, I hardly visit there anymore) and I am definitely going to incorporate it! Love my Oxides bold, too! 🎨
I get it! I never visit my local big box craft stores anymore either. But I do still use this system and it works great for me! I hope it works for you too!😊
Great idea! I am working on new storage and replacing my blenders. Just this week the black part peeled away from the foam on 2 of them! I may get handles for my most popular colors to reduce the wear.
What a great idea, I am trying to figure out what to do, AGAIN. I am going back to blending foams for the Distress Oxide because it is too difficult to keep the brushes separate from the other inks.
What a great use for that tray. I love this idea. I have a lot of those blending tools, might have to try it myself. Thank you for sharing your cool idea!
Clever idea. Depending on how you store the Distress Oxide inkpads, you can use little Velcro stickies on the bottom of each pad. Stick one side of the Velcro on the bottom of the ink pad, and the other side of the Velcro on the black side of the blending foam. Pull the blending foam off when er you want to use it, then return it when you’re done. Then you always have the color matched to the ink pad. I store my Distress Oxide inkpads in a Stamp’n Storage IKEA holder (actually, two of them), so they slide in and out easily.
I considered this, but then you can’t stack them while using. So I opted to go this route. But for people who don’t care about the ability to stack them, this method would work well.🙂
Let me clarify about the storage - it’s from an online store - stampnstorage.com - they make storage solutions for crafters. Some of them fit into the square cubes in the IKEA Expedit (or whatever they’re now called) units. Sorry if I confused anybody.
Christy Gets Crafty - you’re absolutely right that you can’t stack them. I tried that originally, but it didn’t work, which was when I found the storage units that Stamp’n Storage make.
So happy to see this video! This storage has worked really well for me too. Remember, the deeper container part can hold those doam foams from Scrapbook.com perfectly!
Instead of buying the (overpriced) wooden handles, try spools. Like sewing thread comes on. Plastic or wooden, doesn't matter. You can find old thread at thrift stores. Or you can buy wooden spools from JoAnn's, Amazon etc. (in the unfinished wood section in stores) They come in different sizes so you can find ones that feel good in your hand. This way your pads themselves don't get wear and tear from being pulled off the handle constantly. You can store the spool daubers on a wall mounted or desktop spool holder (also found at all the above places).
I woke up this morning with this exact idea, and immediately jumped onto RUclips to see if someone has already done it. You've made my day :)
Haha! Great minds think alike!

Yes, I agree! I’d like to eventually have maybe 10 or 12 of the tools to make it easier. Pulling the foams off the tool is my least favorite part!
You could take a picture of you trey before you put the sponges in , print it out and keep it with you trey as a point of reference! Awesome idea TFS!
Good tip! Thank you so much for sharing and for watching!😀
I used to have those. The tools fit perfect. I now have the stamp and storage solution and love it!
Very cool! They make great stuff!🙂
Fabulous idea. I love seeing other crafters storage ideas. Thanks. Take care ❤️
Me too, Sandy! Thanks so much for watching!

I never got into the brushes. I guess they’re good if you want a softer application of ink, but I typically prefer bolder color.🤷🏻♀️
Very clever use of the bead tray! Thank you!
You’re so welcome! I’m still using it and loving it.😊
What a great idea. I am going to do this. Thanks. Connie
I’m so glad you like it, Connie!😊 Have fun!

You are so welcome, Rose! I'm so glad you found the video helpful!
Yes!! Thank you! I was looking for something to store my new blending tools. This is very clever.
I’m so glad it could help!😊

This is great. I number my ink pads and corresponde the number with the blending tool; I have a tool for each color
What a smart idea!🙂

Ooh! Good to know! Thank you!😊
Those are the ones I use and I have been struggling to find a good storage system so thanks for the tip!
Guess I'm going shopping today. This is great! Thanks for sharing!
Yay! So glad you found it helpful!☺️
Excellent idea, Christy....thank you!
So glad you liked it, Nancy Lynn!😊
You could stamp a paper in the order of the foams and put that under to tray as a reference
Thank you for that suggestion!
Such a super clever idea! Love this!
Thank you so much, Anika!

What a great Tip! You might put little colored dots beside the douber, so you see it from the top? That was my spontaneous idea.
Yes! That would work too!😀 Thank you for the suggestion!
Can you tell me more about the twiddles nook i loved your video ty
You could add a lable to the underside as well. Since they are taped down.
To the underside of which part? I’m sorry, I’m not quite understanding, but I want to!🙂
@@christygetscrafty the underside of the tray. So u could flip it since the blender pads stay in place. Just to see which color.
I don't find that box with those pots Christy Gets Crafty
Did you check your local Hobby Lobby? I found it in the jewelry section on the bottom shelf. Hope that helps!🙂
What a gret idea! I am definitely going to try this? Thank you
Wonderful! So glad you found the info useful!😊
Great idea! Thanks for sharing! ❤️😎
So glad you enjoyed the tip!😀
If you have any other storage/tips please share, very hel6
Okay, I will! Thanks, Mechele!☺️
Fantastic Idea. Thanks for sharing.
You’re so welcome! Glad you found it informative!🙂
Can I ask how big your pots are and if the domed blending tools fit in them or not
I don’t have the domed ones, but I think they’re the same size, so they should fit. I’m not at home but I can measure the pots later.
@@christygetscrafty OK thank you
Awesome! 👏👍💕
Thank you so much!🙂
What a Great idea, thank you, thank you for sharing it!!!!!
You’re so welcome! Thanks for watching, Sandy!😀
That is great!! Hope I can find one of those. 💕
They’re in the jewelry section at Hobby Lobby, but I would bet that all the other craft stores have something very similar.
Lovely!!
Thank you so much!😊
Great idea tfs
Thanks for watching, Cathy!🙂
