    Super helpful video! I just bought a fixed gear bike as a commuter and training bike. I’m a mountain biker with a road background so I’m comfortable with clipless, but I keep having non-fixed gear riders telling me to be wary.

    Absolutely agree. I instantly sold my flat pedals and straps after I tried clipless pedals.

    Riding cages forever till I die brotha, started with cages and will never stop using them, I usually like to explore off pavement when I’m riding fixed on side roads or just different terrain. If you get yourself a good set of cages and suede leather straps your feet are solidly locked in, it really depends on what you like though(:

    The other way around depends on (for a newbie) whether it's SPD or SPD-SL

    Just got a pair. Been using the Shimano CT5, which is a better walking shoe (have 2 pairs). I think they’ve stopped making them, tho. Why don’t you flip the wheel and go fixed? It’s the biggest reason to clip in (cages are poop). Shimano makes a ‘normal’ pedal that has a spd clip on one side, if you want to use reg shoes sometimes.

    Not sure about your cleat position. Ideally, it should be where the ball/joint on your foot is. That's the hardest part of the foot and allows you to use max power. I think you rather hit the softer flesh and not the bone. For me it's usually right in the middle of the cleat rails, but depends on the foot obviously. Anyway, always have to experiment with the cleat position.

    Thanks for the shoe review. Do they come with the clips (SPD cleats) included, or did you have to buy them separately?

    • @alvarotrujillo4048
      @alvarotrujillo4048  3 года назад +3

      They did not come with the clips.. I bought the pedals itself at the same time as the shoes so the pedals came with the spd cleats.

      @@alvarotrujillo4048 Thanks for the speedy reply. Yes, pedals usually come with cleats, but I already got more SPD shoes than pedals :) For some shoes, they include cleats, too. So I’ll have to order cleats for the Adidas.

    • @alvarotrujillo4048
      @alvarotrujillo4048  2 года назад +1

      If I wasn’t on my bike I would definitely not wear them out. It’s good if you’re on a bike all day and have some walking to do (work/commuting) but not as just a walking casual shoe. That’s just my opinion.

    • @alvarotrujillo4048
