I used the free tax file system last year absolutely loved it!! They gave you about 10 - 15 different companies to choose from. You need to have a very basic tax return no itemized tax returns and income under I think below $70,000.00 last year and this year it is below $84,000.00. They offered it to all 50 states this year but only 25 states are going to participate. 12 states were in the test last year and 90% of the people that used it rated it as excellent or above average. Alot of these tax preparation companies will do your federal for free but then kill you on the state tax return. Change more than you get back.

Long story but my “friend” who used to do my taxes not only stole from my tax refunds for years but stole my stimulus checks as well (changed the address and information so that it went to her not me). I found out and spoke to the irs multiple times to let them know and even got letters back from the government on how much she stole. Would I be eligible for getting this refund??

I get SSI. I don't file income tax for my SSI. I still received ALL my stimulus checks. Not a word from the IRS about returning any of it since I got them 2 years ago. So either I'm blessed or it's dumb luck. Take care and Happy New Year everyone!
