Unlike a lot of people here. Im not going to knock Blizzard for how they look at Diablo. It's totally fair to make a game they are wanting to make when we have a huge other serious of games out there, like Last Epoch or PoE, to fill games in your level of challenge and depth. Diablo is more the popcorn, chill style of game and i actually like that for a loot game. That being said, they did say something interesting in that they didn't see people building characters other ways in the current classes, and it's...a confusing statement. Wouldn't that obviously set off red-flags that builds are becoming clearly too meta? It's great you made a class that has the freedom to really spread out and do interesting things, but this should be a rule, not the exception.
if you take the games that "CHILL" style any game is chill, even poe "well just dead again cool , let's go again" or "hmm how do i do this" "omg what is this tree "

Nor sure if they've answered this anywhere. But when you create a toon season 6 when the spirit born is out. If you skip campaign will it just skip the base campaign or the whole thing? How's that gonna work.
I can't wait for a new season to come out to try and play the new spirit Born but all do respect I really just want the Crusader to come back. To me Diablo 2 and 3 is all about the Crusader.
I agree. When they had to explain what makes the spiritborn different they gave a word salad answer. Their reason for making a new class was because they were afraid they couldn't live up to the expectation. Pathetic.
I got questions about the campaign story. When the expansion comes out, do we have to create a new character in order to play through the expansion story?
You can definitely play the expansion story with your eternal realm character, But it's launching with season 6 so not sure why you would not start a fresh character. (Unless you don't play seasonal)
In my opinion, the developers genuinely care about the player base, but the constant deadlines imposed by corporate hinder their ability to truly listen and respond effectively.
It's like watching senior's work versus watching rookies work. I'm not hating on Diablo 4, I don't think it's bad. But the PoE guys have been at it for much longer.
That they called the Spiritborn a new archetype and that introducing one is a "once in a lifetime event" definetly underlined my guess, that they are already working on something more mundane like paladin/crusader/darkknight/holyknight which resembles older versions of that archetype.
This was almost confirmed. We don't have an exact yes but with everything setting up and leaving westmarch open to go to next plus revisiting possibly the foundation of the paladins and crusaders etc it leaves the story to flow into that and and maybe bring diablo back
I love the look of the new class and the gameplay I saw. I know that they wanted to focus more on the new class but it would be really nice to see what abilities the other classes are getting since every single one is getting new abilities.
Amazing vid! Only 1 unique 1 handed weapon for sorcerer...... only one.... nothing else. If iam correct there isn't any off hand also included... Sorc needs more 1 handed and off hand unique item. Cheers! Gear customization cannot be great and powerful if not focusing on 1 element. Supporting multiple elements to carry somehow? Please consider implementing sets again. - Conjuration rework. - Ice Blades doesnt have the impact to the game like Hydra does. Really. Also the spell looks nothing...just some blue things on the screen. Water elemental or Frost Golem could be better and give some more potential to the conjuration build. - Lightning spear should have a legendary affix which on hit release chain lightning, or just simply rework with that. With this modification this could be a great spell to carry with the rest along. Thx for the vid!
1 fear i have... Giving the spiritborn such a "hybrid" approach. Even if Blizz have been saying since pre launch that D4 was "play your way", but i find that once we play and try the new spiritborn, when we go back to our older classes, they will feel boring... I hope they start "revitalizing' the old classes Also, druid is dead 100%. Unless they COMPLETELY rework the druid for more pets and more shapeshifting. But both classes usine "spirits" is weird
I don't get why all want a paladin. Why do it all have to be the same? I like we get something new. And really looking forward to try the class. Remember all the things they have messed up since release, i bet many will not be happy with a paladin if they make one. I would not be surprised if they add a new version of it which do not at all act like diablo 2 paladin, and all the same players will rage about that. No matter what they add, it will never be good enough for most players. I think it's a great move to make something new, people have not tried and have background with. So you can not compare it to the older games.
The thing you have to remember is that you only hear the complaints, because those people are loud. You're right it will likely be hated by those noisy people who want it to be how they remember, but they're not most players. Most players are not commenting about the game at all, they're playing it.
Because a huge amount of people like to play sword and board... Tank with a little bit of magic mixed in.... You can't outfit a mage with armor in the game it wont let you.... The barbarian is just not what I want but its what I am stuck playing as its the only Melee class but its not a Tanky sword and board class with a dabbling of magic... I am sad that their is No class that represents my playstyle in this game!
This is the first time where I feel like they have lost sight of what Diablo is…. I personally can’t play Diablo 4 as I have a Mac but I absolutely love Diablo 3 Necro as it feels dark
Diablo 4 is a much darker game overall than D3. D3 is still the one that doesn’t fit the franchise the environment in 4 is a lot like 2 overall especially with the lighting just being less overall in the game, but the cutscenes are brutal too especially the intro cinematic and vessel of hatred’s cinematic too.
Why does everyone show so much hate. I have been playing Diablo since the beginning and love it. I think the changes are awesome. D4 has the most divided fan base I have ever seen. If you dont like it, dont play it.
I feel same man. I think that's because Diablo (potential) players are from wide spectrum. Mmorpgs, P2W arpgs, classic arpgs, story gamers, lifeless endgame addicts... You can't make happy all of that at same time, and always many of them are crying
the way they kept describing it as highly customizable just gave me the impression that it really just lacked design direction so it does all the things.
pretty sure ''balance'' ongoing process is simply a rotation. They do the same with guns in Call of Duty lol. Its fun, it force people to try other classes and each patch or season is another class time to shine kind of.
We finally get a witch doctor / monk hybrid, but asking for paladin / crusader is too much. Rhykker "what makes this different from a monk?" what the guy wanted to say.. "nothing really", Rhykker "does each spirit give it its own fighting style ?" what the guy should have said "not really anything different from armor sets for a monk, as where each armor set gave a different style, thats how spirit guardians work"
@@famoussession7426 Well if there is stuff to hide and they have to dodge questions, that's never a good thing and that says a lot. Especially considering what GGG announced for example, and still for free..
@@famoussession7426 That's true, but still one has free patches that are larger than D4 patches or even larger that any D3 patches ever (that were the price of a full game) That would be fine to have smaller patches if they at least listened to the community complaints correctly and have some transparency, which is clearly not the case
I will say that the title of this new class "Spiritborn" turned out to not be what I expected it to be. While it does do the whole 'spirit' thing, I feel like it's a mix of a few classes that we've seen before, just executed differently enough to call it its own thing. Speaking of new classes though, I do not see any reason they can't add all the rest of the classes across the Diablo franchise. Sure, it would be more work to balance, but people like variety and I know a few people who just don't see a class they want to play yet. Now, if they need suggestions for classes that are new, my suggestion would be the Blackguard. For those who don't know, it's basically an evil or fallen paladin. The closest thing Diablo has had to a non-"good guy" class is the necromancer and they are more neutral than anything. This would fulfill the sword and board archetype and the heavy plate wearing aesthetic that is clearly missing in D4. Besides, I think it would be a ton of fun to design a character around using powers you wouldn't normally see from a playable class. Imagine if it was a demon powered in some way. Like the Hell Knights from D1, it could be a paladin that was corrupted and forced to serve, but later regained control of themselves and now use their demonic powers to destroy those who enslaved him.
I was hoping for another physical class. crusader/paladin would have been nice or maybe ranged something with javalins. But hey, we got another magical casting class. yay

If they are so dead set in NOT telling players how to engage with the content, then can we please be allowed to use previous characters in new seasons? There isn't a single objectively logical reason why we shouldn't be allowed to choose between a new character or an old character.

Holy crap...I have 2200 hours in this game and Ive never been less excited for something "new"
I agree. When they had to explain what makes the spiritborn different they gave a word salad answer. Their reason for making a new class was because they were afraid they couldn't live up to the expectation. Pathetic.
Yea i have zero interest in this spirit monk. Wanted paladin.
I got questions about the campaign story.
When the expansion comes out, do we have to create a new character in order to play through the expansion story?
You can definitely play the expansion story with your eternal realm character,
But it's launching with season 6 so not sure why you would not start a fresh character. (Unless you don't play seasonal)
In my opinion, the developers genuinely care about the player base, but the constant deadlines imposed by corporate hinder their ability to truly listen and respond effectively.
What happens when you don't buy the expansion? Will you be able to level up max and take part of the seasons? What about the story?

This was a class reveal stream. We dont know much about the exp or season6. Poe stream had all ita content.

I hope they start "revitalizing' the old classes
Also, druid is dead 100%. Unless they COMPLETELY rework the druid for more pets and more shapeshifting. But both classes usine "spirits" is weird
Is a loadouts feature coming with the expansion?
I am sad that their is No class that represents my playstyle in this game!
thanks for interviewing them!
"it all flows from them,... rather than being about the element itself" - very cool

You can't make happy all of that at same time, and always many of them are crying

cool, getting to visit the dev office >_>
We finally get a witch doctor / monk hybrid, but asking for paladin / crusader is too much. Rhykker "what makes this different from a monk?" what the guy wanted to say.. "nothing really", Rhykker "does each spirit give it its own fighting style ?" what the guy should have said "not really anything different from armor sets for a monk, as where each armor set gave a different style, thats how spirit guardians work"
Am I crazy, or do the answers feel like the devs are trying really hard to not say something? These answers are really wishy-washy and vague.

I’m so excited for this class and all the combos you can do with it. Genuinely unique in playstyle and build
