Thanks Nippun appreciate your kind words. The next video I will be making very soon will be about Communication and how you can improve your speaking and writing to communicate with business users either in meetings or interview. I will message you again once it is ready!
Hey Sid, can you do a video on the best way to learn new software/languages like Tableau, Power BI, Python etc and the most important parts of them (i.e. what data analysts actually use in real life)
Fantastic question, I have started a recording on the most important parts of Python, but let me add Tableau and other tools into that mix. Will post it this coming March. Will include tips on how to best study new tools too.
How to apply those kind of jobs from India? Are they willing to accept for attending online interviews (even if we find & apply for them from India) and provide work visa as well at the end? Give us some suggestions regarding this?
Insightful content!! I am seeking full time Data Analyst roles. Did they ask you any questions about the finance domain ? Also, as an Entry Level Data Analyst how do I develop my domain knowledge?
Domain knowledge is very specific to an individual company or industry, take Banking for example. Credit Risk is one area of domain knowledge, but to learn it you can take specialist courses online. Another option is to undertake internships. Many banks offer internships throughout the year. Best of luck with your career!
Hello sid, do we need to know excel vba for data analayst role????? if yes, plz mention the syllabus.....very less info related to data naalyst in terms of excel vba............
Great question, I would say No, I just developed a VBA script myself recently, but it could be done in Python too, which is more user friendly, has more potential and is easier to learn. For Excel just learn vlookups, pivot tables, if formulas, sumif formulas, countif formulas and dashboarding in Excel. If you have extra time learn PowerQuery in Excel.
Great question, No is the answer. Before I joined HSBC I only worked for an Oil company and a Biscuit company. What HSBC look for is a good understanding of basic maths, percentages, Averages etc. If you can demonstrate some financial knowledge of Balance Sheets and Profit & Loss statements you will improve your chances of getting a job in Banking but it is not mandatory. I will do a video on projects I've worked on in HSBC which cover this and more this March/April.
Generally speaking, No, most Data Analysts rarely work with ML so it's not expected of them. Only Data Scientists use ML in my experience. Its worth learning Automation as a Data Analysts. Look at tools like Alteryx or Automation using Python.
Hello mate, I don't know how we get access to company database and then how we are able to download the data of our own choice in our laptop or whatever. How we interact with the database, do we get some kind of id password for access, if yes who gives it. what is this complete end to end process? suggest some keyword or phrase so that i can search on youtube????????????
You need to find out the "owner" of the database. They will give you a username and password. But first you need to show a business case why you need access, because of data security they won't give everyone access to the database. There is no single approach so it's hard to find content on this. The method of access for a database will be different depending on the company, type of database (SQL vs NoSQL) and storage type (local vs cloud)
Very good question, in my opinion, communication skills are more important than data skills. I have a video on this coming soon early March and will share my advice on this!
Yes of course! but you just need to demonstrate you have a good understanding of Data Analytics and some skills with Tableau/PowerBI/SQL etc. These can be picked up for free.
Thanks a lot, Sid.
It really helped to get a better understanding.
Sid, thank you, very informative, just what I was looking for. Subscribed.

Have you checked Glassdoor.com? That would be my best suggestion as Salaries in US and UK are very different to India.

Can i get job as fresher in data analyst field?
Yes of course! but you just need to demonstrate you have a good understanding of Data Analytics and some skills with Tableau/PowerBI/SQL etc. These can be picked up for free.
How did you learn please
Just regular practice! I started on RUclips 7 years ago learning about Tableau. I then progressed from there and did courses on Udemy.
