    For in ground, I envy you. I can’t even get the earliest of early varieties to do anything in ground here.
    …and i refuse to to do anything with winter protection. It boggles my mind the length that some will go to with in ground tree protection and claim its easier than potted.

      That sucks Mike. I’m sorry to hear that. It’s a crapshoot here honestly. There are some that are supposed to be early that aren’t and there are some that should be later than they are but they ripen for me fine. I don’t think there’s really any rhyme or reason why.

      Is what it is, I realize that. My grail would be a tree that can out perform potted trees in ground with zero protection. If i could find a hardier Mt. Etna, that would probably be my best bet.
