Jesse's 96.2% is better than Gale's promise to Gus of 96% (and THAT was in a substandard lab)... Jesse has come a long way. He can now beat a gifted Chemist.
Just an FYI point here: 96.2% once is not the same thing as a guaranteed 96% minimum. Gale is one of the worlds finest. Chances are Gale can get above those levels, just not consistently. But the fact that Jesse is capable of reaching that level even once does indeed show his potential in league with some of the very best in the world.
Heisenberg is the only one capable of a guaranteed level above 99.1% using different methods (as pointed out various times in the show), even in an RV under bad conditions without environmental lab controls.
Gus took activated charcoal (at least that's what it looked like) to mitigate the damage from the poison, then threw up what he could from his stomach. It had to be extremely potent and lethal stuff. Even after all those precautions though, Gus was putting his own life at risk for his opportunity at revenge.

As calculated a move as it was, it still was a MASSIVE risk.

@@Jeremy-jm3fe Of course when they first show it you don't know what it is but once the tequila and poison stuff happens just after he takes the pill, 99,9999% people guess it's something to neutralize/slow down the poison and comment about it. They didn't say anything about the pill during all their long reactions/talk while Gus throwing up or the Cartel guys dropping down, even though they spesifically said many things like Gus planned this, and he's gonna threw up, etc... The pill wasn't mentioned at all during moments it was absolutely the most related thing to talk about, so I assumed they missed the pill moment totally.
in my opinion "fill your pockets and leave in peace, or fight me and die!" is the most badass line of the entire series.
Gus was at his most powerful yet. In this point of the story, *he* was the real Danger.

Just to add, while Gus was staring into the pool before Don Eladio came out, Gus took a couple pills. They helped with likely slowing down the poison in his body before he could go throw it all up.

This would be the easiest way ever for Jesse to get rid of Gus. Really does show how loyal he is to people he work for.
Also, he doesn't think he needs to do it as they're not partners with Walt any more. So, he doesn't need to do what he told him.

And being fair, Gus didn't *want* to give him away, as valuable as Jesse he is for that knowledge, and to Walt, but the cartel really gave him no choice.

I had a drill sergeant with a purple PT Cruiser, and we used to roast him relentlessly (obviously not to his face). But besides the fact that he had his amazing car that Walt got him taken away, just imagine a young teenaged boy having that car in HS and how he'd feel about that. The adult me is able to say the same thing Abo said, and be like "it is a car and he should be grateful", but teens think everything is the end of the world

Both Giancarlo Esposito and Vince Gilligan say it was left intentionally vague and that it is up to each viewer to decide for themselves how they view Gus's sexuality. So they very well could have been lovers, theres just no offical answer.
