Hi Persolaise, have you tried the new Cristalle EDT? I've heard this beautiful stunning fragrance been reformulated! I am most disappointed about this! Why do they do this? Have you tried the new version yet? ❤
Cristalle is like the final-frontier expression of radiance, but it's a brittle, unstable form of radiance as though it will self-annihilate in a light show . I've always called it a prismatic chypre, incidentally.
It’s a crisp green smell that reminds me of Spring. I wore the EDT age 18 and bought the EDP for the first time in 25 years on Valentine’s Day, this year. (53 years of age this year). The EDP is stronger and warmer. The Eu Vert didn’t have the same effect for me at all.
I placed an order for lovely Cristalle EDT on CHANEL, and it was backordered for months. Figured I wasn't going to get it, but luckily they sent me their batch from Jan. of this year. I don't know the issue behind that, but the scent is truly one of a kind - crystalline! Like raw minerals refined into faceted gems. Gives me the feeling of the crisp ozonic coolness of refrigerated bouquets in floral shops, along with the fresh smell of cut green stems.
You are so knowledge and informative on all fragrences it's a pleasure to watch thank you so much for all the hard work you put in to your videos x x x x
Mr. P, I bought the Eau Vert EDP today (then came home to find your review). I actually went to the counter to try No. 19 poudre as per one of the green fragrance recommendations video of yours, but the SA said "if you like green, then try this". I felt it was an immediate mood boost and gentle sort of happiness 😊. It reminded me of Reflection Woman, which I adore. Ps No 19 Poudre started very green but later became absolutely stunning! May have to go back 😂
Actually I think the Eau Verte is rather underrated-- I also didn't immediately love it but after several months and two or three full wears, it really changed and I just love it...❤
I am 30 now and when I was 13, my grandmother gifted me Jicky and Cristalle. I still love and wear both, but only for myself. I wore Cristalle for its light fresh soft creamy warm floral scent when I was younger (thats what I recall) but now I feel its more faceted. It makes me feel as if it was created for a Fairy or Angel. To me "Now" it's soft greenery, chypre, citrusy, not a soft floral but crisp sharp floral. I feel regal and in charge. Love the review ❤❤❤❤
Yesss it’s finally here ! Thanks so much for this lovely video! I went to the Chanel boutique a while ago and was told only have EDP and Eau Vert, no EDT available at the moment, so now I have to had the EDT !!!
@@Persolaise update: they do have EDT now. But I read somewhere that EDP is being discontinued, and I saw that Chanel US website doesn’t have cristalle EDP anymore...
Great video Persolaise, thank you. I bough edp last year. I think it smells very original and chic. What I mean is different to the current offerings. Lovely
i love all 3 versions & cristalle edt was the 2nd chanel fragrance i bought while at uni ! one of my fondest memories is getting the egg shaped soap to go along with the perfume... the edp is much rounder, denser & louder, whereas the edt is more angular, brittle, sparkly & piercing. it’s like very pale but strong morning light vs warm & golden afternoon sun. i prefer the austere beauty of the edt more than the heaviness of the edp. the edt brings to mind a round glittering ball pale greenish yellow with spikes & the spikes are actually due to the complex notes that are present, while the edp is rounder & has less definition. as for the eau verte, it is precisely the lemony notes that i like about it ! i love how approachable it is, compared to the edt which i see as a more complex, interesting and complicated (intellectual) version of an eau de cologne. i need to feel up to its level to wear it sometimes 😄 i had great fun spritzing all 3 to smell them with you !! 💗
Heyho, i wanted to comment earlier yet completely forgot. XD I love cristalle, she and no 5 are in my staples, always. 3 days ago I was hoping you'd do a review one day, and literally the next day, there you go haha. I've got the edp version but I will purchase the edt next time. I just wish the scent lasted a little bit longer although I do love the silence of it. It's very romantic I feel like, only those you want it to smell will be able to smell it wich is not usually what I'm going for but this one works for me. I'm also very curious about 19 poudre. I would love to hear your take on that one. :)
my best friend wore Cristalle in the '70's, I absolutely loved it. At that time, I wore Capucci Pour Homme which felt like the the male version of Cristalle to me. Oh, the 70's... what a wonderful time.
This reminds me of agonizing over EDT vs EDP of Cristalle at Heathrow airport (EDT is hard to find in the US). The agony ended in my playing it safe and buying number 5 extrait. Christalle is one of those scents I am not sure I’d enjoy smelling like, but I am drawn to sniff it again and again.
Cristalle was the very first perfume I purchased for myself and I was seventeen. It will always have a special place in my heart, and I remember vividly how fabulous it made me feel when I wore it. I miss the splash bottles Chanel still did for certain scents until some years ago. My Cristalle came in one of those. I remember the vintage version as more harmonious than the present one. The oak moss smelled a bit fuller and that combined more beautifully with the other notes. That of course could be just my memory. That old bottle is long gone.....as to the edp and eau verte, they were never an option. Nice perfumes but I always preferred the edt. A nice choice for valentines day! It might not be the most romantic of perfumes but it smells of new beginnings, and something eternal at the same time, if that makes any sense. And yes this is so perfectly balanced that none of the components are dominant enough to make this a citrus a floral or a woody scent. I love the florals in this and if the citruses had been more dominant or the vetiver or oakmoss it would not have appealed to me back then and it would not do so now.
I just love your comment on Cristalle! There's nothing to be added😊 Just like you, I got this scent at the age of 17. It will ALWAYS remind me of my trip to New Orleans, where I went with my parents. It was a birthday present, and my first Chanel....and will stay my favourite scent forever😊
The EDT was my fragrance in the early 90s and I couldn’t get enough. All the brightness along with a hint of warm hay drying in a summer field. It smells terrible on me now, which makes me sad. Tried the EDP and it was perfectly nice but not compelling and lacking the sparkle.
This is an old thread, but have to comment. I've been hoarding Cristalle EDT and EDP. The Chanel (USA) website has not had Cristalle, except for Eau Verte, available for months. I'm fearing Cristalle has been discontinued. Do you feel Chanel #19 will be the next fragrance on Chanel's discontinuation list? Cristalle, Chanel #19, and Coco are my favorite Chanel perfumes.
@@Persolaise Update: Cristalle EDT is again available on the USA Chanel website; Cristalle EDP is not. I also love Chanel #18, yet rarely see reviews on #18. Is #18 an unpopular Chanel fragrance? Thank you for your insightful videos. 👍😃
You have probably heard that Cristalle edp is being re-released in the classic square (no5) Chanel bottle right now. I thought I'd mention it just in case....
I miss the Cristalle edp very much which in the 80's was a stronger golden form of the edt. If I wanted a more formal variation of Cristalle, Chanel No.19 was the answer. Cristalle was initially targeted towards younger, sporty girls but I think it has since transcended all of those categories. Nowadays, I stick with Cristalle edt to experience the fragrance that I knew. I don't feel that Cristalle is cold and aloof but as if she's flapping her wings at a higher frequency :) Thank you for the review-Cheers!
@Persolaise re-wearing Cristalle EDT today for the first time in a long-while. Completely feel identical vibes in Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier’s Iris Bleu Gris - are you familiar? Completely confident as a male wearing both. Can you suggest something else in this vein that is somewhat accessible to purchase in 2023?This cold, fresh, swampy, yet bright florals? Hearing mixed reviews if Synthetic Jungle is close(?) but haven’t had the opportunity to smell yet.
@@Persolaise I will get my nose on SJ then, thank you! And would certainly recommend Iris Bleu Gris to you - I really think it will rock your world 🌎 😆
Iris Bleu Gris sounds promising. You may want to search for Eau de Patou (the Heritage line can still be found) and Diorling. They are not as green as Synthetic Jungle though.
I've just watched your lovely review and thought that maybe I should buy the EDT or the EDP, possibly both. Unfortunately it seems they are nowhere to be found online, including the Chanel website. Discontinued? Or only available in boutiques? I very much hope the latter.

Anna, they have become harder and harder to find. I think everyone was sold out of it, especially before Christmas 2020. I hope Chanel is not quietly trying to edge it out, would be most disappointing not to be able to smell like an elf again :). I have stocked up. Try eBay.
