This just popped up on my feed, and it's obviously after SDCC 2023. On the subject of hotels, I agree it's great to stay close if you can, but that's not always possible. Some attendees choose to stay further out, and book hotels during what's called the "early bird sale". The hotels are a little further out, and the discounts are higher. Other 'veterans' participate in the hotel lottery (affectionately called 'hotelpocalypse'), and pray to get something close. However, if we can't, SDCC organizes a free shuttle that's available to anyone with a badge. It's very well organized. Good video.
Im going for this first time this year! i won a week pass and im so excited im going alone tho. i only won one ticket. im debating just sleeping in my car tbh what do you think?
Sign up for an account on the website and sometime in the fall you will get an email when the sale is. It’s a lottery type system where you sit in a queue and hope you get picked to get the chance to purchase. There are detailed instructions on the website
This was my first year trying and we were lucky and got tickets. I did a two person buying group as we only needed 3 tickets. We each had at least two to three devices logged in, waiting in line. They say not to use a cell phone, but my friend's cellphone was the one that got us tickets. As a first timer, I think it also helped that we were only shooting for a 1 day ticket and we were not picky about the day. As the person said above there are a lot of instructions, tips and tricks online.
Bring a backpack for swag, snacks/water etc, a battery pack, and wear comfy clothes and shoes.
All good advice

@@Gorz-Sama You’ll be sleeping in the shadow-realm after I’m done with you…
Didn't you have to wait in the long line to hall H to see Jim Lee panel?
He actually wasn't in Hall H, it was one of the smaller halls.
So……how do you get an admission ticket?
That's not an easy thing to do!!
