I, too really liked all of them, but the one with the color burst (or was it brusho) background is just gorgeous. And you have no idea how many of those panels I have and never have any idea what on earth to do with them. Thank you!
Absolutely wonderful!! I really love the card with two windows cut out and how you used that really variegated patterned paper!! Gives me lots of great ideas for my granddaughters birthday cards!!
Love all the cards! Mermaids always work for me.😍 The shaker, blue glitter background and the black card front die were my favorite. Tfs. Hugs-Kristina🤗
Loved all your wonderful creations here but hands down my fave is the one with the add-on die cut and that gorgeous glitter paper that came with the kit. I just received my kit today and it is my first time ordering any type of kit from Hero Arts and I love this kit!!! Thanks for all the inspiration! Hugs!!
These cards are great - my FAVS are Nos. 1, 4 and 8 - I found and purchased some of that cool thin shiney/sparkle blue paper you used behind the cutouts at an art supply store near me. Thank you for sharing your inspirations.
Beautiful cards! I find the oxides blend so much better for me, especially on Bristol smooth. Even the regular distress inks blend so much better on Bristol smooth: wished I would have known that years ago.
Yes! Bristol Smooth is my favorite for ink blending! The Bristol Vellum was interesting, but probably wont use it again for ink blending. My Zig Markers worked pretty good on that paper though.
Love all your cards. I love those oxide inks. I thinks it so much easier to blend them. I smoosh them out on my craft mat and them pick them up with my blending tool so I don't know if I use more or not. I really hated ink blending until I got these.
Thank you! Your cards are lovely, i love number one and the other one with a circle and oval with de shiny blue paper, but really all of them are gorgeous, i love this kit. Thank you for sharing
I agree about the Oxides. I feel like they are kind of on the dry side, compare to the regular distress inks. If you decide to destash this die and stamp set, please let me know! I'm crying and dying over here! Mulberry paper is handmade paper, it's what they make Prima, I am Roses and Wild Orchid Crafts flowers from. These cards are FABULOUS and some of my favorites so far! :)
I think I love the card with the sparkly paper the best. I love that paper! I haven't played a lot with the kit but will play some this weekend! As always, I really enjoyed your video,
Loved the card with two windows! I really liked the swirly white paper that came with this kit. I think it looks so much better in person (video doesn't do it justice). Can't wait to see what you do with the mermaid stamp!
I think you're right about the oxides. They remind me of the old Fresco Inks, which have lots of chalk in them, which would explain the opacity, reaction to water, and the lesser blending. Love the cards, as always. Thanks for the inspiration, have the kit and add ons but haven't touched them yet. Hugs-April
I think so too - probably because of the nature of the pigment ink. I always need to refill those pads lots more than the dye pads. Yes, they remind me too of the Fresco! I loved them
Beautiful cards #1 is my favorite. Just wanted to offer encouragement and let you know that I have been seeing so much growth & improvement, both in your cards and video editing. Way to go☺
If you scroll through Hero Arts' Insta feed all the way back to when they were posting during the CHA event, they posted a photo of 2 guys (brothers!). They mentioned that these guys design some of the stamps and dies.
All of the cards are so gorgeous it's hard to pick one but I think card 4 and card 5 are my two favorite. On a separate note if you choose to destash that Hero Arts fairy stamp and die set, I'm definitely interested 😀
I think the regular distressed inks do blend better, but it takes more time to actually get the get the look. I think oxide puts more ink down so it takes less time to get the blend. Not sure if that makes sense! I love your videos!
I haven't noticed the thing with distress oxides, but I will check it out when I use them again. I haven't used mine in a while. Are you getting that same problem even after you reuse your blending pads? I think you are right about the designer! I love this kit! Beautiful job on your cards! Lol, I agree about the add one I picked up all of them, even the merman die!
Yes, same problem... I was wondering if it was the Bristol Vellum and with the texture it was kind of causing the issue of having to reink my blender tool, but when I used the regular distress inks I didn't have the problem. Those blending sponges are well seasoned too.. I still love the Oxides and totally not a big deal, but was curious to see if others felt the same. Guess it is just the formula. LOL, the Merman was one I didn't pick up or the confetti like die cut. Everything else I did and I'm obsessed. It was hard not to use all the add ons with this kit.
Isn't it funny how the clean and simple become your favorites? Lol. I loved them all but card 4 is stunning. I'm so depressed my add ons still haven't arrived. 😢 Oh, the difference between oxide and reg distress on a blender tool, (ime) is that the pigment from the oxide sits on top of the foam so you have to keep loading, vs the dye ink soaks into the foam storing the ink. If that makes sense. Also, the Tim Holtz distress paper can not take a lot of water. You can get beautiful blooming with that silk ink on strathmoore. If you want check my video I did on silk ink uses. Xo Loved a lot of ways you designed your cards.. the windows so to speak of the mermaids looking in. ☺️
I was wondering that about the Oxide inks, if it was just the formula so what you say makes sense. I do love the oxides, but I like the way the regular ones blend flawlessly.. at least for me. I still need to work with the oxide inks and try different paper too. Yes I need to check out your video! I saw you posted it but haven't watched it yet. I wish I had time to play around with products before doing a video, lol... I really need to do that so I can offer a more informative opinion... :)
They're ALL gorgeous but I think the 4th 'ocean full of thanks' is my favorite. How do you like the Bristol vellum as opposed to the smooth with the Zig markers? Is the only difference the tooth/texture? are the papers slightly different colors?
I like the Bristol Smooth when I'm using multiple Zig markers to blend, and I like the Bristol Vellum when I want to use water to blend my Zig markers. I do like the texture look sometimes so I can see where the Bristol Vellum will come in handy instead of using water color paper when I just want some texture on a card. However the texture is slight on the Bristol Vellum which is nice too over watercolor paper. I just compared the two papers and they are exactly the same white at least in my lighting they appear to be. In answer to your questions though, I would say the main difference is the tooth/texture. I would have to play around with the paper more to see if there were any other differences.
Thanks so much for the detailed response. I have been hesitant to buy yet one more paper (especially since finding Bristol smooth for Zig) in hopes of finding 'perfect' LOL. But now I will snag a pad at the next Michael's sale for sure!
Yes, that seems to be the case and from what people are saying I guess it is just the different formula. Either way I love my Oxide Inks and need to play around with them more!
Hmm they are just different so hard to say if one is better over the other. I love them both! Drying time appears to be the same. Oxide inks actually may dry quicker. Definitely check out videos on RUclips talking about the differences in the two inks.
Hero Arts ships internationally. the kit is no longer available but I know they are releasing that mermaid stamp at some point in the near future. I sell my cards on Etsy, but have sold most of these.
simply beautiful cards as always Alicia, love to watch you create your cards , very creative , thank you for sharing
Alicia! I love this set of cards! I think this is my favorite video of yours. So creative. Kudos! 👊🏻
Thank you, Sue!! Hope all is well! :)
All such gorgeous cards, my favorite is card 4. Very nice , great job. tfs
Love all the cards, but the one with the blue sparkly paper is my favorite! Thank you for the ideas!!!
Yes, it takes me more time and more oxide ink to sponge compared to the reg distress inks. These are so beautiful.
I, too really liked all of them, but the one with the color burst (or was it brusho) background is just gorgeous. And you have no idea how many of those panels I have and never have any idea what on earth to do with them. Thank you!
I liked all of the cards but the shaker card was my favorite. Thanks for sharing, I enjoy listening to you as you create.
Thanks, Linda! :)
Absolutely wonderful!! I really love the card with two windows cut out and how you used that really variegated patterned paper!! Gives me lots of great ideas for my granddaughters birthday cards!!
Thanks, Nikki!
Love all the cards! Mermaids always work for me.😍 The shaker, blue glitter background and the black card front die were my favorite. Tfs. Hugs-Kristina🤗

Thanks, Carole! The Hero Arts kits are pretty awesome!
Lovely kit from Hero Arts..! Love card five...! The Spiced Marmalade is completely surprising yet works so well!!
Thank you!! Card 5 is one of my favs. Love the pop of that Spiced Marmalade!
These cards are great - my FAVS are Nos. 1, 4 and 8 - I found and purchased some of that cool thin shiney/sparkle blue paper you used behind the cutouts at an art supply store near me. Thank you for sharing your inspirations.
All of them are stinkin' adorable... but # 2 is my favorite. Love watching your videos.
Thank you!! :)
LOVE LOVE ALL THESE SEA MERMAID CARDS, YOU MAKE IT LOOK SO EASY... TFS
Love all your cards. I love those oxide inks. I thinks it so much easier to blend them. I smoosh them out on my craft mat and them pick them up with my blending tool so I don't know if I use more or not. I really hated ink blending until I got these.

That paper is gorgeous!! Totally would purchase that on its own.
Me too! I wonder where they found it!
Great cards - sure wish I would have gotten this set....dang. My favorite is the card with the cut out circle and oval - beautiful. TFS
Thanks, Mary! That card seems to be the most popular so far. :)
Loved the card with two windows! I really liked the swirly white paper that came with this kit. I think it looks so much better in person (video doesn't do it justice). Can't wait to see what you do with the mermaid stamp!
The wood block mermaid stamp is sitting next to me! I need to do a video with that. It is just so pretty!! I keep looking at it, LOL...
My favourite was card number 4. Love the blue sparkly paper.
So hard to choose a fav but loved 9&10 all are gorgeous I missed this kit 😕 dam time difference I'm in NZ lol
Hi Alicia :) I like card #4 the best....very pretty with that neat shiny blue paper in the background.
I think you're right about the oxides. They remind me of the old Fresco Inks, which have lots of chalk in them, which would explain the opacity, reaction to water, and the lesser blending. Awesome as usual!! I really like card 5 (and 3). I learn so much from you - thank you!
Thanks, Beverly! :)
Beautiful cards #1 is my favorite. Just wanted to offer encouragement and let you know that I have been seeing so much growth & improvement, both in your cards and video editing. Way to go☺
Thanks, Laurie! That means a lot! :)
If you scroll through Hero Arts' Insta feed all the way back to when they were posting during the CHA event, they posted a photo of 2 guys (brothers!). They mentioned that these guys design some of the stamps and dies.
Also I have done the Jennifer McGuire technique, and I feel like it works better with oxide inks
Good point!! I will have to try that and now that you mention it I think that is what she used in her video... duh! :)
My favorite was the last one. Great techniques.
All of the cards are so gorgeous it's hard to pick one but I think card 4 and card 5 are my two favorite. On a separate note if you choose to destash that Hero Arts fairy stamp and die set, I'm definitely interested 😀
LOL, thanks Sladjana! I get so many requests for the fairy one too.
Love all the cards! You are so talented.
Thanks, Donna!! :)
yep loved the 2 window card too
I think the regular distressed inks do blend better, but it takes more time to actually get the get the look. I think oxide puts more ink down so it takes less time to get the blend. Not sure if that makes sense! I love your videos!
Yes, makes perfect sense! :)
Now it's REALLY fun to watch!😃Anyhoo, I think I will use the liquid ink for mermaid's tails.
that's a great idea
Automatic glimmer!!😉 Thanks!❤️
for me, the oxide inks blend easier, but yes, I have to add more ink to do it. FAB video!
Thanks for the feedback Lee-Ann!! :)
I liked the one with the glitter centre which the vellum didn’t want to stick for you. They are all beautiful tho. TFS.
I haven't noticed the thing with distress oxides, but I will check it out when I use them again. I haven't used mine in a while. great job Alicia. love love your tutorials.
Thanks, Christina!! :)
I like all your cards but I think eight is my fav.
All beautiful cards, but card 4 is gorgeous
Beautiful cards, can't choose one
Thank you, Christy!! :)
Card 4 is stunning

Number 7 is my favourite. TFS.
Thank you! :)
I feel like the oxide inks don't stay as wet on the blending tool as they do with regular distress inks
Yes, that seems to be the case and from what people are saying I guess it is just the different formula. Either way I love my Oxide Inks and need to play around with them more!
Are the Oxide Inks better than originals and do they take longer to dry? thank you. Great cards x
Hmm they are just different so hard to say if one is better over the other. I love them both! Drying time appears to be the same. Oxide inks actually may dry quicker. Definitely check out videos on RUclips talking about the differences in the two inks.
Shaker card is my fav!!!!

Beautiful. Where do I buy these cards in Canada?
Hero Arts ships internationally. the kit is no longer available but I know they are releasing that mermaid stamp at some point in the near future. I sell my cards on Etsy, but have sold most of these.
Gorgeous cards with all the fun techniques! Tfs Hugs BRigitta
Thanks, Brigitta! :)
