Even a lowly casual like myself loves to appreciate those high end bikes that are forever out of reach. Might not be a practical bike, as is my preference, but who drives a Porsche to the grocery store? Whoever can afford this, they’ve got a killer speed demon
OK! It has happened! Same bike, same color is in shipment and should arrive to me on Monday. It’s for sure ridiculous overpriced but since 2020 I have been waiting for market to come back to “normal” and all I got is turning 2 years older. So better to get one now as long I’m still a MAMIL 😆
2021 expert was 5500 with 11 speed di2 w dtswiss stock wheels..2022 expert is 8,500 with a 12 speed and some c38 rovals wheels..3,000 increase for wheels and drive train???
So my 15-year-old off-brand-framed campy (smattering of centaur, chorus, and veloce) bike is only 1 lb heavier, even with bottle cages... got it. That's not completely fair.. some of its components are 18 years old. I honestly can't believe an $8k road bike is only 17.6 lbs.
Good advice. Unfortunately due to current shortages this model is actually "well-priced" right now. Definitely makes more sense than the s-works. Great video on a great bike
The Pro version is a much better deal at only $700 more. CLX wheels and power meter alone are $1500 difference. Just can't find them in stock in 49 anywhere - so I ended up with the Expert. Beautiful bike - but about a pound heavier than my TCR Advanced Pro 1. Love the 12-speed though - esp. with option of the 11/34 cassette (slight added weight).
two questions... at $8300 for a bike (most cars I've bought have cost about that much), am I going to have to worry about the crank failing, and why in the world don't i get a wheelset with bladed spokes?
So….. now you need to review the new Roubaix Expert! I managed to get one in the teal color a while back and I love it. Had to sell a car to get it though. I’m not making that up.
I own the SW SL7 in snake eyes green and I wish It was as great in performance as it is in looks. So flexy and feels mushy at best, just my opinion. Definitely rode better for alot less
All I can see here is that Specialize thinks an awful lot of their Tarmac (not even S-works) frame and Roval wheels. WOW - $8,300. I'm not sure what more nuts - their pricing or someone who'd pay that much for a "middle of the road" carbon bike with a $2,800 groupset. and an alloy handlebar ?? Yikes.
100 percent agree. All types of bikes, road, gravel, cyclo, etc are priced to the moon and it can't be blamed all on rising input costs and inflation. Bike prices have been rising steadily and by large margins for years now. It's now ridiculous.
This bike is for the professional rider. Most professional rider don't buy their bikes. Their bikes are bought for them. Their bikes are going to be at the UCI weight of 15 pounds.
Lol. I don't think that's true. Two years ago I had a string of 12,000 plus dollar bikes on the channel. It all just depends what's available. At this point in the year I've reviewed just about all the sub $1,000 bikes that I can get in my area, so the only thing left are uper fancy bikes
So important for me to see the high end bikes so I understand the advancements so I can buy a bike with some of those key items. Like the ultegra 12 speed di2 is so good to know.
For that money I’d be more likely to be able to pay for a better choice of Specialized Diverge Carbon Gravel Bike with the Campagnolo Ekar… Or going for the new Salsa Warbird Carbon Gravel Bike you’ve had reviewed for roughly the same big buckaroo$ … C’est la vie
yeah - that stayed with me for the entire video. I then found myself asking "did he mean to say apotheosis?" and then i was like "what does apotheosis mean again?" and then i was like "that 'theo' makes it sound like something big...so maybe that would be the right word...but also...i'm sure 'pinnacle' would work just as well here...right? yeah - pinnacle...but this bike isn't an sworks...so...in theory...this would be something just below the pinnacle. a sub-pinnacle? can't...*anything* be sub-pinnacle if it isn't the pinnacle...maybe get kinda calculusy and use 'approaching the pinnacle' - yeah - that's it" but in short. i'm here because i just got this bike (in a different color) for a great price. I haven't ridden it yet, but i'm really excited to have a second road bike. also - i looked up "apotheosis" and my initial hunch was spot on. the word he was looking for was *definitely* apotheosis 🙂🙂
Obviously you can do that with every bike ever sold stock. That's the whole point. These are more expensive because they are stock and original ready to go.
$8300 with an alloy bar. 🧐 Love the color!
Lol
By far the best bike guy out there! Quick to the point break down highlighting all the key points. Still out of my budget but great video! 😊
Thanks!
I have this bike now for 1 week
Its freaking amazing!
Sl7 Expert (Maroon color)

I sent a screenshot of that to Santa. Fingers crossed. Only way I will ever touch one. Very pretty. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Very true!
Darth Siduous is right, crazy
They increased on price 3 weeks after I purchased one (in the UK)…. It’s a great package tbh. Aero bar OOS until 2023 but other than that it’s ace!

Hi, did someone now where is the di2 jonction A ?
two questions... at $8300 for a bike (most cars I've bought have cost about that much), am I going to have to worry about the crank failing, and why in the world don't i get a wheelset with bladed spokes?
Late to the video but they're on sale on specialized for 5500. Is it worth getting over the new Giant Propel Advanced 1?
So….. now you need to review the new Roubaix Expert! I managed to get one in the teal color a while back and I love it. Had to sell a car to get it though. I’m not making that up.
I believe it!
Change the tires to the tan wall cotton tires 700x26 or 28...it'll give it a little more pop..
True, that would make it look real nice
Nice review! What’s the total weight for the bike?
Quick hint, its in the video.
I own the SW SL7 in snake eyes green and I wish It was as great in performance as it is in looks. So flexy and feels mushy at best, just my opinion. Definitely rode better for alot less
Is it possible to review on scott spedster 20 gravel 2022 model?
Unlikely, I don't have access to Scott bikes.

I don't care how well Specialized markets this. $8,300 for a bike is straight up obscene.
100 percent agree. All types of bikes, road, gravel, cyclo, etc are priced to the moon and it can't be blamed all on rising input costs and inflation. Bike prices have been rising steadily and by large margins for years now. It's now ridiculous.
$5995 for this bike if you buy over here in Cape Town 👍🏼
This bike is for the professional rider.

Jimmy - I’ve noticed, as you’re getting more views (and thus $$$) in your channel, you’ve been reviewing more $$$ bikes 😂

The Pro is "only" $9000. Get the Pro.
Mate your are indian@?
Misused "antithesis."
Thesis, antithesis, synthesis…
yeah - that stayed with me for the entire video. That's a $4k bike, MAX.
Sure I'll do 4k. Next year when I replace my SL7 with the new SL23
Agreed
Here in "European Union" we spend our money on overpriced fuels and energies.
Wo wo wo..take those reflectors and dork disc off that bike asap...lol
Safety first
@@Jamesthebikeguy lol..no doubt
I would never do road, but just came here to see what could possibly be so expensive! 🤣
I do road and mountain. They’re real and they’re spectacular.
it doesnt even look like it is worth $8300 🤮
This is not a good value, you can build up the bike for less money buying the parts separately
Obviously you can do that with every bike ever sold stock. That's the whole point. These are more expensive because they are stock and original ready to go.
@@vika0194 maybe in some cases, but this bike used to go for 5500 USD, even with all the price increases that have happened, doesn’t add up to me.
$8300 bike and the reflectors are on it lol
Safety first
I found a cleaner way to spend $12,500.00 with their 🚴♂️ S-WORKS Enduro LTD 👏🤣🤭
nice!
