This series was radically evolved from gritty underground racing scene into colorful racing festival Horizon-ish

Kinda but actually no.
Horizon is way more realistic and for the feel of cars.
Of course they improved on that because its important for a racer game.
But they actually went from a basic ahh racer with a damn cool unique style, to a clean and colorfull racing game that focuses enough on Horizon type gameplay to be hella satisfying but is disigned and focused on fun and damn well made gameplay and challenges.
Basically the perfect mix of everything, and that not only for cars but every other vehicle there is in the motorsport genre.
