This man, who poisons innocent girls, is supposed to be the male lead with whom the female protagonist will develop a deep, profound relationship? How can such a bond form when he's already attempted to kill her twice without any justifiable reason? And now, the story tries to use his tragic backstory to excuse these horrific actions-how can that ever be enough?
well said! It's wild that he keeps threatening her after all those attempted murders. A tragic past doesn’t excuse shit. And she’s just laughing it off and calling him a 'faceless cat'? Like, come on, show a little anger have some self restpect, at least this is just glorifying toxisity

If they were both fighting and trying to kill each other, then fall in love, that would make sense(enemies to lovers) but the female lead just lets him keep abusing her. She is now even feeling sorry for him, but he hasn’t shown her any of the grace she’s shown him. It’s giving more abuser and victim vibes rather than enemies to lovers. I love revenge plots, but making love look okay in a toxic setup is just messed up.
Are the writers okay? The ML and FL haven’t developed a deep bond yet, so why are they pushing the idea that the FL feels pity for the ML over the loss of his two old servants? I can understand her feeling sympathy for the old couple, but for the ML, No. This is the guy who tried to kill her and has threatened her repeatedly. The notion that she would suddenly feel compassion for him seems completely implausible. Unless the FL is somehow deranged and enjoys being mistreated and threatened by the ML, this storyline doesn’t make any sense. It lacks emotional truth.
This story feels like it was written by a narcissist. The writers seem to think it’s interesting to make the leads a cruel monster and a naive girl. It’s hard to believe this could end as a beautiful romance, but I’m sure they’ll find a way. Still, I doubt I’ll be convinced.
I guess viewers find it entertaining watching physical/mental abuse, manipulation to females plot line leading to love. The FL seems so vulnerable and gives in
