A woman saved you from drowning, and wouldn't abandon ship unless everyone was cared for.

I think being anti-meritocratic is vital to any democracy. It's counterproductive to stifle innovators and entrepreneurs, but don't be stupid enough to deify them and cede them real political control over the peons. Success in business doesn't mean you have the best interests of society in mind.
Don't mistake celebrity with CME on everything. It's like trusting the "brand" of a good product, and mistaking believing everything else in that product line with be just as great, but it's not. The brand is stamped on rest of the product line, but it turns out that's its sh*tty and of inferior quality. That's what we're seeing here.

And monarchies were formed by similar drive to succeed, they just arose in a different time and context. Most billionaires aren't inventors, they're people who've seen opportunity and exploited that, just like how monarchical dynasties have come to exist. Dynasties these days are just evidence of a successful family business that has tended over centuries to get woven into the national consciousness and that supports their continued (unearned) privilege.

So Musk's view is that anyone can say anything. What he doesn't get though is something most of us figure out by the time we're 3 or 4 years old: actions have consequences. Elon isn't worried about free speech, he's worried about consequences for what he says. Essentially, he's a spoiled child.

I've heard some say that if "woke" is defined as walking in the way of the man who stilled the waters then count me in. Suppression of ideas of love, kindness and understanding is not what makes us a better people.
Being woke isn't the problem. You can be anything you want. Within the confines of the law. But you can't censor and suppress others views. Just because your ideology says otherwise and that you should.
