Dig the fact that despite your Ozzieness, you still have the saffa lingo: “ ... boer maak ‘n plan ek se...” and with the amakosi beanie it’s clear the roots run deep 🥴!!

Happened to me a couple times i found that the breather hose on the right hand side was pinched shut, these things will not run with that blocked. Had mud get in that line as well do the same thing

That's a very interesting one. I assume that you did not buy the bike new? Because that's for sure not anythig I have seen on one of my bikes. I had a total of nine of those who did a combined mileage of some three quarter of a million kilometres between them. I assume that either some one has damagetd the circlip by handling it roughly or fitted a circlip from another carb and different needle.

Yes the bike is second hand but I installed that needle so it was me who installed it roughly hahaha 🤣
      I am an amateur afterall

Carb on a DR650 will easily rotate 45 degrees without removing it or anything else, just by loosening the screw to the airbox and the carb side. Then you have clear access to the underside to remove the main jet. Tried this on a DRZ400 last week - easier to remove the engine! The DR650 is great!
