If you’re new to my channel, my name is Alex Hormozi. I’m the founder and managing partner of Acquisition.com. It’s a family office, which is just a formal way of saying we invest our own money into companies. Our 10 portfolio companies bring in over $200,000,000+ per year. Our ownership stake varies between 20% and 100% of them. Given this is a YT channel, and anyone can claim anything, I’ll give you some stuff you can google to verify below.
How I got here…
21: Graduated Vanderbilt in 3 years Magna Cum Laude, and took a fancy consulting job.
23 yrs old: Left my fancy consulting job to start a business (a gym).
24 yrs old: Opened 5 gym locations.
26 yrs old: Closed down 6th gym. Lost everything.
26 yrs old: Got back to launching gyms (launched 33). Then, lost everything for a 2nd time.
26 yrs old: In desperation, started licensing model as a hail mary. It worked.
27 yrs old: "Gym Launch" does $3M profit the next 6 months. Then $17M profit next 12 months.
28 yrs old: Started Prestige Labs. $20M the first year.
29 yrs old: Launched ALAN, a software company for agencies to work leads for customers. Scaled to $1.7mmo within 6 months.
31 yrs old: Sold 75% of UseAlan to a strategic buyer in an all stock deal.
31 yrs old: Sold 66% of Gym Launch & Prestige Labs at $46.2M valuation in all-cash deal to American Pacific Group. (you can google it)
31 yrs old: Started our family office Acquisition.com. We invest and scale companies using the $42M in distributions we had taken + the cash from the $46.2M exit.
32 yrs old: Started making free content showing how we grow companies to make real business education accessible to everyone (and) to attract business owners to invest or scale their businesses.
34 yrs old: I became co-owner of Skool.com to help the many people who want to start a business online do so.
Today: Our portfolio now does $200M/yr between 10 companies. The largest doing $100M/yr the smallest doing $5M per year. Our ownership varies between 20% and 100% ownership of the companies. Many of them we invested in early and helped grow (which is how we make our money - not youtube videos).
To all the gladiators in the arena, we’re all in the middle of writing our own stories. The worse the monsters, the more epic the story.
You either get an epic outcome or an epic story. Both mean you win.
Keep crushing. May your desires be greater than your obstacles.
Never quit,
Alex
FULL DISCLOSURE
I make content to make money - just - on a longer time horizon than most. I want to build trust with business owners so we can find the best ones and help them scale. And if they’re awesome, write them a check and go all the way as partners.
The problem is that people emulate the end result/peak and not the actual process. The work is never highlighted or respected; only the end result of the work is. Learn to enjoy the process so much that the peaks won’t really matter.
Well said
👏🏽
So is it lots of controlled reps first?
How can I enjoy pain tho, I get the point but genuinely the process is literally just pain😭😭😭😭😭
@@fiirozethen you're doing it wrong. You shouldn't be in pain, but you should be sore
You forgot to tell everyone about the PEDs part. lol
exactly. so many "fitness influencers" don't actually have a clue how th mechanics of muscle building works because they knock back gear like dickheads when they hit a plateau
He doesn’t look like he is on peds?
He’s def on them but the principle is no different with or without them lol
@@tylerpence364 - He does bro
He’s talking in generalities. But using work outs as an example. And his physique here is most certainly obtainable with out PEDs.
i thought this was athlene x jeff cavalieres young apprentice in his videos, and hed finally got massive 🤣
You did not just do my man Alex like that🤣🤣🤣
@@jasonhale1611 hahaha
Bro same
Jesse
"My boy's wicked smaht."
Yeah? Well I got his RUclips channel how you like dem apples?
How you like them apples
Straight outta Maine
Love the parallels between my two favourite subjects. Bodybuilding and business
Damn the Geico Caveman has come a long way 😂💀
LoL. 😂
😂😂😂
Mfkr hit evolution
Lol
I was thinking Jesse from AthleenX...
Guys on gear not listening to his advice on training.
Nothing really tangible and directly useful here. My guy is describing everything vaguely but nothing specific on what he means by people trying to go vertical instead of horizontal lol
But with your analogy isn't one inch wide and one inch up the exact same concept as one mile wide and one mile up?..
I’m not saying he’s natty but remember he has access to the best diet, best equipment, best trainers, adequate rest, he’s been training for years and he’s a hardworking man. It’s not preposterous to consider that he could actually be a natty. Again, I’m not saying he’s natty but too often people that give excuses for their shortcomings are often quick to put negative labels on those doing better than them. Hormozi is wealthy and he’s fit, he just needs to return to Jesus to top it all off.
He is absolutely not natty....but he isn't roided to the gills neither
Basically talking about instant gratification. They want the results of the work not the actual work.
Yet he took roids lol.
So many words. With so little actually being sad
Deca, tren, test. Workout, protein, sleep. I hate when people clearly juicing but they want to talk like they are natty.
Actually, olympic athletes peak various times around the year. They just try to peak closest to competitions :)
What do you mean peak?
@@yad1937 Let's say I'm a track athlete. I want to be training almost like a pyramid. Build up and peak 1-2 weeks before major competition then you start to taper reps to maintain that peak and not wear yourself out.
Actually 🤓
@@yad1937 peak means when you’re at your strongest, fastest most healthy state, ready for competition.
Athlete periodization has various stages. Anatomical adaptation, hypertrophy, strength, then you convert that strength into functional strength with plyometrics and usually after that comes a peak, then it starts to cycle again.
@@JV8901 ah ok thanks
Yeah righ😉 don’t crazy amount of tren you’re taking
Every body konws that you are training hard, but also you are on steroids. If you try to lie us, you just lie yourself
Also helps when you take PED’s…..
Nah That Alix Earle chick broke up with her boyfriend and gained like a million followers in a month
I’ve been trying to encapsulate this in words for a minute now, I have to build up my own knowledge, persistence and patience before I even begin to realize my goal.
Going back to training post PCL injury means a lot of digging for me
Look up Ben Patrick. His knee rehab stuff is fantastic
@@drcodyfehrmanheck yeah!
What a load of utter nonsense some of these people talk 😂😂😂
Don't forget the 🍊 juice
Vertical diet. Got it
So, which avenger are you playing?
bro your on like the whole pharmacy😂
When you state the obvious and make out, it's like some amazing revelation.
THATS right folks you heard it here first. Build that base with GEAR ⚙️❗️🙏🏼🎆
I understand this as an analogy to running your own business. It is difficult when nothing has worked for a long time. Stuck in a sh*t cycle. I am 41 and am trying to retire my parents so they can enjoy life. My Dad turns 70 this year. Starting again, again, is painful. I have $0, live on my own and when people say that it takes 4 to 5 years to see any results in starting a business, I feel sick to my stomach.
well, you don't owe your parents anything, your in a shitty situation, but you have to understand that your at an age where you should be focusing on yourself and not on your parents, its hard to make such a decision but it is what is is, rome wasnt built in a day.
You should challenge your limiting beliefs. All nature of men is the same but it’s the systems that separate men. You can build a big business in a year, you just need the right vehicle or system. All defeat is physiological until death
How did it go 1 year later?
Bro you look like a caveman in a good way you look like you could crush boulders with your bare hands and hunt down tigers n shit
Kinda lookin like Jesus cl
He’s 100% not natty. He’s taking something you can tell by how round his shoulders are
This actually makes SO much sense
I do love me some Alex Hormozi but his physique naturally was just average. Anyone who conveniently adds in 250mg of the best test in the world (doctor monitored) is gonna look insane... Can't blame him bc he does admit he takes gear at least.
This is so good and true! Set up for the next 5 moves. The age old story of the tortoise and the hare. 💪🏼
Tren hard anavar give up.
What does that mean, practicaly?
🔥🔥🔥Great Tip For Life; Not Just Building An Empire 💪💪💪
I wish they would apply building the base of the pyramid to education. Administration wants to start at the top of the Bloom's Taxonomy pyramid and work their way down.
Nice gains bro I too can bench press small cars 🎩
This snippet sums up Alex Hormozi’s business advice: always vague, simple, and does nothing for your business.
Could this help with injury reduction as well?
It’s funny because low reps is literally training for strength, which is kinda important for ya know…more PR’s lol
8/10 I think I know what he’s talking about but not completely theirs peaking which I don’t understand
Maybe this is obvious, but what does building a large base mean when it comes to putting out content?
So I shouldn't feel bad using 25lb for my biceps for a while?
100% natty. He just built a base a mile wide. Just build a base. Duh. No one needs PED……just a base.
Build a horizontal inch a mile and sit on the pile…
Great advice Alex, for business as well🙏
Have you ever considered acting a Jesus Christ in the ‘passion of Christ movie’😅
Problem with internet content is now everybody just throws he's on PEds like they don't even check his background he was a multiple gym owner now 100mil making machine. Why would he's risk his health taking peds.
I cant believe im this early , i love your channel cuz learn so much everyday by watching your content .
Thank you
Ahura Mazda coming with the wisom🧙♂️
Problem is I have to fucking eat everyday and pay rent.
To be fair, as a competitive powerlifter and a close friend to an Olympic 400m sprinter.. I can tell you we peak out pretty often. It's not every day. But it's not every 4 years. Lol
Have you considered the way Dorian Yates and Mike Mentzer trained? Both used high intensity (reaching their peak) and low volume. Both won the Mr. Olympia. What u say is just makes people work out longer then they have to.
I just do pushups... I don't know anything about building a base... how to build a base with pushups?
No hate at all,he looks great! But I don’t understand how people believe he’s natural😂😂😂😂
Not really I know some strong people and the ones who keep pushing to their max are the ones who succeed the ones who look it I.e this guy and body builders actually usually are the weakest, they have to much slow twitch muscle fibres because all they focus on is time under tension
These days
Most people go to the gym to create motivational videos
Like bro.. why not shut up and lift the damn weight?😏
Serious question, do you guys think he's NOT natty? 🤔 I mean he's in shape but seriously? Thats a good natural physique with 2 years serious training and eating right
You have said the exact same thing about building a business from 1m to 10m to 100m
I’m suddenly seeing this guy all over my shorts… idk why… he’s giving me major grifter energy
Love how you think you're so important because your buff
Can someone help me understand what hes talking about? What im getting is dont max out for 4 years? I dont get it😵💫
Olympic weightlifters max out regularly
Damn, Jesse from Athlean x out here looking yoked out of his mind these days.
Good point, what are you injecting ?
Sometimes I don't understand what is he elaborating ..
Takes min 3-5 years to build something that will last. Most guys if they stop working out deflate within 5 days of not lifting
Yeah and also 400mg of test, can’t forget the most important ingredient
Translation - You gotta learn how to diet and weightlift before using steroids and sarms
Funny how many people here think Alex is a fitness influencer 😂
If you say you reached your natural peak and been training for 3 years then take gear…..lies man, at least 10 years of perfect dieting training and sleep, then decide if your taking them or not.
I missed the part where he talks about his steroid use.
Bodybuilders aren't out here trying to hit 1RMs ever let alone ofter
So many people haven’t even gone to the gym consistently for long enough to realize you can build a great physique naturally and therefore the only reason they have when someone has one… roids. Up your standard people. Greatness can be achieved naturally
Some sense to this but for many sports not the case. You need to stay within range and have some specificity otherwise you don’t know if what you’re doing is working and you also need to practice the skill of your sport
This guy must be single all his life. No family man can do what he says😂
I think he is already married
He's been married for several years, not that it matters hater
That is the most bro science bullshit 😆 resistance training doesn't care if you try to hit peak in the beginning or not. You should always be trying to peak. Those athletes you're referring to started when they were like 6 years old so yeah they "built a wide base" aka grew unto an absolute unit because they trained while going through growth spurts.
wouldn’t an inch wide and inch up he the same as a mile wide and a mile up just larger dimensions. and it looks like he might be on steroids. Can he achieve peak without abusing drugs or that’s too hard?
I don’t know it almost sounds like he is saying to work out for 1-4 years first then use enhancement drugs
Can someone explain this a little more, like do I not increase weight as I'm getting stronger? Or what does he mean by getting a base or good foundation
That’s a long way to say you like the 8-100 rep range and are not into classic strength training.
Lol people arguing in the comments saying they’re not going to listen to him cause He’s on roids( it’s possible he is and it’s possible he’s not) even though what he is dying is true regardless😂
How do you build that horizontal base then?
⬆️Hey mate
Thanks for watching i have something to share with you
hit me up::
🚀🚀🚀:::
Thanks, Brother, It is definitely a precious life lesson.
Samee way I learned language learned a lot of grammar and glue words.. why I could be dropped in that country and learn it so much quicker and absorb so much
Can you please explain whst you mean? What you're saying sounds very nuanced :o
Like what are the "foundational concepts" that you needed to lay out first??
Ikr maybe say but I'm not natural so it's different for you guys 🤣
Sorry what does he mean that people will try to PEAK after a few reps? And another example for this concept in relation to content creation?
Truth, you gotta get the reps in or your max won’t be a quality rep. Then you plateau sooner.
In actual practical words, what does it mean to build the base?
Can someone explain what peaking out is? Is this a fitness term?
There is so much more depth in the valleys then just standing on the top of the mountain
How much time should I give someone before I fire them?
Is it me or has hardwell started off strong in his comeback and gotten stale already
Just a bit tan, he would look like ancient hindu legend has travelled to present
Olney high School weightlifters lift like that. 😂
Build the base, stay away from juice
Can someone explain what is meant by peaking out?
It's the same for long distance running🔥
Let me go on gear and than try and teach the world about natural bodybuilding 😂
I dont think there is one size fits all but maybe this the most proficient
