Omg! That fish “pie” looks terrifying! Great to see your recap!
Wasn't it odd?! I am now 3 weeks behind on baking and 2 weeks of recaps eeeeek gotta catch up. But first, a Peanut Butter jelly sandwich. :)
PBJ? How American you've become! LOL
I'm dead cultured me!
Splendid, Colin! I enjoyed all your assessments and innuendos. Good to see you back!
Did your dad's visit go as planned? Where did you go? My own Chicago visit went wonderfully: I meet my friend from downstate, we had lunch in The Walnut Room and went to a matinee of Tootsie as planned, then she took the train for home, and the next day I explored favorite old neighborhoods and had a late lunch at Pizzeria Due for old times' sake. Good times!
Oooh sounds like an amazing trip. We went EVERYWHERE! I somehow took my dad to all the place that are on the Big Bus tour stops- which we didn't find out until yesterday when we went on it and I was like... Oh we came here, and here, and here. So it was like a summary of all of our adventure. My dad started the trip by saying he doesn't like Pizza- so that threw my Pizzeria Uno/Due plans out the window! gutted. He left today and I have 2 weeks of Bake off to watch and 3 weeks of baking to do! ARGH! So behind.
Still sounds like a lovely time. Has he been to Chicago before? (If he returns, the Architecture Tour in a boat along the river is highly praised -- I've never done it myself.) Where all did you two go?
We did the First Lady architecture cruise, it was so cool!! Definitely recommend. We went everywhere on the Big Bus tour (which I didn't realise until the last day when we DID the tour and I was like... well... here we are again! haha) I am in LOVE with the Field museum. LOVED it.
Ah, the Field Museum. A big part of my childhood. And then you have the aquarium and planetarium right next door.
I also love the Museum of Science and Industry on the south side: many school trips there, walking through the human heart or examining the giant table of elements. And the miniature Fairy Castle (which my tiny gay heart adored much more than I would admit to publicly), which honestly is pretty extraordinary.
I am SO excited to go to the MOSI- especially because they have a Pixar exhibit on right now.
