Making a Simple Leather Clutch
This leather clutch is handmade with Hermann Oak's Old World Harness leather. The leather clutch is sewn by hand with waxed polyester threads and features solid brass trim. We don't often make clutch-style wallets, so making this design was a fun change of pace! When you're making a clutch style wallet be sure to give yourself enough interior room with something like a gusset so that your clutch can fit a plethora of different objects. We chose to also include a couple large card holders that hold credit cards vertically or horizontally, and can hold 5-10 cars each with ease. This gives the leather clutch a bit more versatility, as it can also be used as a simple long wallet.
You can also add a wristlet to this handmade leather clutch design as well! We'd recommend using a simple brass eyelet in one corner, and making a strap to fit your desired length.
Sometimes you just need a simple design. Practical and pretty
Beautiful as always. Thank you for your relaxing video. I can go to sleep now
Simple, elegant, lovely.
And ASMR af.
Thank you.
Very nice. Your attention to detail is to be highly commended. I have found, as it shows you have, that unattractive leather can produce exceptional ly beautiful results. Thanks for sharing.
Simply W-o-W....!
Beautiful work of art can be so simple....!
I've been wanting to start leather crafting for quite some time and coming across your channel finally pushed me to purchase some tools to start off. Thanks for the inspiration!
That's what we love to hear! Happy crafting :)
Love that you put the toothpick holder in there.
I’ve been on a binge of your videos, could a future video possibly be making a leather duffel bag!! 😭
Great video...Thank you for not using music when editing your videos.... I find it hard for some youtubers to understand people like their videos because of the content of it but they don´t necessarily like the music they are force to listen to while watching it... And by the way, nice leather trousers 3:47 ....
Love that you’ve linked all the materials and tools we can buy…bit useless without the pattern though.
This video is so meditative, I could watch this for hours
Thank you for making this video. The way that you do your side gussets is neat, I learned something.
Bravo pour ce magnifique travail de pro !
That's why I also like to create. I love your goods

That stitching though 😍
That is really cool
Love it!!
Very fine work... Where could i get the pattern?
Great plan!!! Any way to get the pattern?
Simply super 👌
Very nice!
What tools would I need to do exactly this? Nothing more, nothing less.
Also, is there a pattern for this?
Tools are shown in the first link; I also wondered if there's a pattern...

Great job!!! Simple, yet very cool looking and spacious. Where can we get a PDF pattern for this? Really looking into making one. Thanks!
Amazing work professionally filmed :)
Wow, I 've always wanted to learn to do leather craft. And always wanted to have such a clutch.
Beautiful project. I’m obsessed with you guys. The shot with your puppy was too cute. I remember when I first saw your way of doing the saddle stitch I was so quick to say ( to myself 🤫) that you were doing it “all wrong “. And then I caught myself and remembered that I dislike that type of thinking in others and as long as the end result was the same.... or even if is isn’t, that just because it wasn’t “My” way it surely doesn’t make it wrong. And it obviously works wonderfully for y’all. So I’m sorry for that. Because you guys freakin’ ROCK!
Thanks so much! We use a stitching pony sometimes, but I was taught this by a friend in Japan and it's just so much more comfortable! Been using it for 12 years without a single issue, thank you for being open minded :)
Corter Leather it s fun to watch, you’re so fast. Being opened minded is one of the great parts of doing leather work. Easier to learn new techniques. 😊
@@Corter is there a pattern link please?
Excellent, good luck
i like this a lot tyfs
I want the same one..
Really cool design! Hope yall are having a good Thanksgiving.

You introduce design but do you teach leather work, are you in Los Angeles?
What kind of thread do you use?
Wonderful......!
So nice 😍
How thick is the leather? 🤔
Are you selling a pattern for this? Also, any idea what weight the leather was split to for this project?
I love your videos so much but if you could make the audio come out of each ear instead of just one that would be amazing. thank you for your videos, really.
Nice. What oz leather did you use
fabulous
Where can I download a pattern for this? Thank you.
Happy Thanksgiving
This is a very artsy, unique, and quiet instructional video. Thanks for all the thought that went into it.

Can i get its pattern in PDF please
What's the thickness of the leather you used in this project?
I have the same question
Any pattern available?
omg, so beautiful
Is the pattern available on your website?
Ahh great, this is what I'm going to make for my granddaughter. What type leather did you use an English Bridle?
First link in the description has it :) Weaver can cut full hides into 12" strips and split it to whatever weight you'd like, we usually get 2-5oz depending on what we're making.
@@Corter Is there a pattern?

Nice, but why not do a real traditional saddle stitch, with a knot at each stitch ?
I was taught that you use a knot in linen thread, but with thicker polyester threads you don't - so that's the way I've always done it!
@@Corter Oh ok, I didn't know that. Is it because polyester is a bit slippery? Thanks for the reply, love the films.
I honestly have no idea, it's just something that I was taught by an old timer and as we all know, there are a million different ways to do everything in leatherwork! It's perhaps because most waxed polyester threads are a bit thicker than linen threads used for hand sewing (though you can absolutely use thin polyester threads too!), from what I've experienced the knot stitch really firms up the stitch line and ads some structure so maybe polyester provides enough structure on it's own
@@Corter Yes of course there are lots of ways ! And none is perfect. I was absolutely not trying to devaluate your method, I hope you didn't misunderstand me. I am just an enthousiast amateur and think you do great work, but I had never seen stitching done this way.
