    Making a Simple Leather Clutch
    This leather clutch is handmade with Hermann Oak's Old World Harness leather. The leather clutch is sewn by hand with waxed polyester threads and features solid brass trim. We don't often make clutch-style wallets, so making this design was a fun change of pace! When you're making a clutch style wallet be sure to give yourself enough interior room with something like a gusset so that your clutch can fit a plethora of different objects. We chose to also include a couple large card holders that hold credit cards vertically or horizontally, and can hold 5-10 cars each with ease. This gives the leather clutch a bit more versatility, as it can also be used as a simple long wallet.
    You can also add a wristlet to this handmade leather clutch design as well! We'd recommend using a simple brass eyelet in one corner, and making a strap to fit your desired length.

I find it hard for some youtubers to understand people like their videos because of the content of it but they don´t necessarily like the music they are force to listen to while watching it... And by the way, nice leather trousers 3:47 ....

    Beautiful project. I’m obsessed with you guys. The shot with your puppy was too cute. I remember when I first saw your way of doing the saddle stitch I was so quick to say ( to myself 🤫) that you were doing it “all wrong “. And then I caught myself and remembered that I dislike that type of thinking in others and as long as the end result was the same.... or even if is isn’t, that just because it wasn’t “My” way it surely doesn’t make it wrong. And it obviously works wonderfully for y’all. So I’m sorry for that. Because you guys freakin’ ROCK!

    Nice, but why not do a real traditional saddle stitch, with a knot at each stitch ?

    • @Corter
      @Corter  5 лет назад +2

      I was taught that you use a knot in linen thread, but with thicker polyester threads you don't - so that's the way I've always done it!

    • @annamoan2107
      @annamoan2107 5 лет назад

      @@Corter Oh ok, I didn't know that. Is it because polyester is a bit slippery? Thanks for the reply, love the films.

    • @Corter
      @Corter  5 лет назад +1

      I honestly have no idea, it's just something that I was taught by an old timer and as we all know, there are a million different ways to do everything in leatherwork! It's perhaps because most waxed polyester threads are a bit thicker than linen threads used for hand sewing (though you can absolutely use thin polyester threads too!), from what I've experienced the knot stitch really firms up the stitch line and ads some structure so maybe polyester provides enough structure on it's own

    • @annamoan2107
      @annamoan2107 5 лет назад

      @@Corter Yes of course there are lots of ways ! And none is perfect. I was absolutely not trying to devaluate your method, I hope you didn't misunderstand me. I am just an enthousiast amateur and think you do great work, but I had never seen stitching done this way.
