"Forget the maid outfits". I don't agree with that. The maids want to have more female fans, one of the reasons is because men do not pay attention and appreciate how they look. They don't just wear maid outfits. In other words, they want us to pay attention to their appearances.

Instead, we can educate new listeners about the history and philosophy behind their outfits so people can get used to it. This also applies to those who are bothered with videos that don't have subtitles. Don't say "you don't have to understand the lyrics, just enjoy the music" It's rude and disrespectful to the singer and lyricist. We can encourage them to look at the translation by providing links or translations in the comments.
I'm 48 and grew up listening to 70s classic rock / pop as well as heavier music. I have to say BAND MAID is one of, if not the, best rock band out there today. Everything they do is groovy, melodic, memorable, rocks, and will make you smile. As a matter of fact, these girls are the first band in over a decade I can just listen to and they make me smile. Please check out more of them. My recommendations are Domination live (feb 14, 2020), Thrill, Warning, Bubble, just to name a few.

I hope you try some more! Most of their stuff is harder but you will still like it. If you want to stay in the same window, I recommend their ballads Daydreaming, and Endless Story. Start Over is very Pop-Jazzy sounding. And Wonder land is like Freedom but shows off Saiki's voice. But if you want to get daring and try a bit more rock, Domination, Cross, and Choose Me, all live are fantastic. If you are feeling that's ok then time to move on to Play, Dice, Dragon Cries. But if you really just want some music that gets you pumped for your work out, Different, Blooming, Real Existence are the ones. Of other bands, I recommend: Glim Spanky, Polkadot Stingray (you'd love them), Trident, Tricot.
Great reaction. I'm glad to see you are a rock fan. Well, you've just been introduced to the best hard rock band at this time. Their music have the hard heavy sound but very catchy melodic chorus. Band-Maid is a phenomenal band and gaining a lot of following. If you like this, I think you will enjoy the rest of Discography. They are all good IMO. But I could be biased 🤣
Band Maid are highly talented and very professional who write and produce their own music. Miku, red flower, founded in the band in 2013 and struggling for a time. They had a breakout video, Thrill, that got 2 million views in 2 weeks. When they checked the views they found that nearly half were from Europe and the US. Very unusable for a Japanese band. With trip to Seattle for an Asian festival, they have become popular and famous world wide. In 2019 they worked with Tony Visconti who was TRex and David Bowie's producer and produce their song The Dragon Cries. They played 5 dates in the US in 2019 selling out all venues, New York City, Dallas and Los Angeles. We are awaiting a sane world so we can see them again. Have you seen Babymetal yet? Nice reaction. Best rock band today. Just incredibly talented. Kanami is right there in my favorite guitarists of all time. Akane, and Tamu from Nemophila are my favorite drummers right now. Puzzle, Moratorium, Onset great songs to try. But yes, hopefully get back to concerts. Band Maid does virtual shows. And Kanami stated in an interview they miss playing to audiences. But Band Maid and Nemophila are both favorite bands now. Nemophila song Life is great song as it’s filmed during a virtual show in august. After drummer Tamu came back after giving birth. And her holding back emotion is beautiful.

An additional J-rock group that I highly recommend is Glim Spanky. The singer Remi Matsuo writes all of the songs, and she is a brilliant songwriter. She also has an unusual voice (sort of husky and gritty). You can't go wrong if if you just picked a song at random, but I'll recommend that you start with GLIM SPANKY - Circle Of Time「GLIM SPANKY STREAMING SHOW 2020」2020.10.23 ON SHOOTING at TOKYO FM HALL or else GLIM SPANKY - 「怒りをくれよ」which is a theme song for an anime movie ONE PIECE FILM GOLD.

I think they got the same flavor to their music. They sound very different from each other due to their respective genres but, all the way you can hear the same "passion" they put in their music. It's a special ingredient that makes them both sound tasty and apart from the rest of bands. I really think Nemophila can some day be to the J-metal scene what B-M is to hard rock right now and will be in the near future
Band Maid, thumbs up! Any song from Band Maid's channel is great to listen to, but their live stuff is especially good. I'd go for Domination live, which another good song to start with. After that whatever interests you. Band Maid is an organically created band (by Miku, the back up singer po) not some corporate creation, and it shows I think in their music and their presence on stage.

Metal: I agree, J-Metal is different. More bands have a positive attitude and messages rather than just wallowing in anger about something. Bridear for example. And Lovebites. And... Anyway this song is so defiant and yet so positive and joyful too. It's basically saying, I go my own way. You can accept me as I am, or go away. A celebratory declaration of personal freedom.

I think that Bandmaid is not Japanese traditional style music, like Enka(演歌)、kayo-kyoku (歌謡曲)。Bandmaid music is miracle brand and unique new Japanese style, just like Miho Hazama.. These girls' talent are so miracle, never similar to Baby-Metal. All lyrics are written by Miku, and composed by their own.

If you want another all female metal band with great drumming, incredible dual guitar solos, and amazing vocals, then you should check out another Japanese band 'LoveBites' you could start off with 'Holy War' Live. All their songs are great so you can't really go wrong.

@@kikistravelservice They also just digitally released a very "pop" song, "about Us", which is a love letter to their fans and not even on the album they just dropped a few weeks ago, which in contrast is much more hard rock - listen to "about Us" and then "Warning!" and you'll be amazed it's the same group. Because the thing about Band-Maid is, they can (and do) play almost anything; they are known for working those different sub-categories of rock you talked about into the same song, along with jazz and funk elements.(Yes, headphones are the way to go to catch everything - their songs are *packed* with details.) And on top of being terrific songwriters, instrumentalists, and live performers, they are all funny, endearing, and quirky.

Thank you for Reaction BAND MAID. BAND MAID is a 5-member girls rock band. They are hard rock band and are now considered by fans to be one of the best hard rock bands in the world. They usually perform 23 songs and 2 hours live. They were formed in Japan in 2013 by side guitarist Miku Kobato. Kobato had experience working at a maid cafe in Akihabara Tokyo and had the idea of playing cool songs with a maid costume. That's why the band was named Band-Maid. "Thrill" was their first music video in 2014, played 2 million times in two weeks and saved them from breaking up. At that time they were just around 19-22 years old. And then they have been doing LIVE overseas and increasing their fans. Now they are writing, composing and arranging all the songs. 34 songs have been released on their official RUclips, all of which are killer songs.
The new song "Different" released in December last year has become the theme song for the anime "Log Horizon 3rd Season".
BAND MAID's online full live December 13th. The new songs "Different", "After Life"’ and Instrumental "Don't be long" will also be performed. @@Kevin6059 no worries, I totally understand. But We can't separate them with their battle armor. Instead, we can educate new listeners about the history and philosophy behind their outfits so people can get used to it.
This also applies to those who are bothered with videos that don't have subtitles. Don't say "you don't have to understand the lyrics, just enjoy the music" It's rude and disrespectful to the singer and lyricist. We can encourage them to look at the translation by providing links or translations in the comments.

I'm 48 and grew up listening to 70s classic rock / pop as well as heavier music. I have to say BAND MAID is one of, if not the, best rock band out there today. Everything they do is groovy, melodic, memorable, rocks, and will make you smile. As a matter of fact, these girls are the first band in over a decade I can just listen to and they make me smile. Please check out more of them. My recommendations are Domination live (feb 14, 2020), Thrill, Warning, Bubble, just to name a few.

I hope you try some more! Most of their stuff is harder but you will still like it. If you want to stay in the same window, I recommend their ballads Daydreaming, and Endless Story. Start Over is very Pop-Jazzy sounding. And Wonder land is like Freedom but shows off Saiki's voice. But if you want to get daring and try a bit more rock, Domination, Cross, and Choose Me, all live are fantastic. If you are feeling that's ok then time to move on to Play, Dice, Dragon Cries. But if you really just want some music that gets you pumped for your work out, Different, Blooming, Real Existence are the ones.
Of other bands, I recommend: Glim Spanky, Polkadot Stingray (you'd love them), Trident, Tricot.

Great reaction. I'm glad to see you are a rock fan. Well, you've just been introduced to the best hard rock band at this time. Their music have the hard heavy sound but very catchy melodic chorus. Band-Maid is a phenomenal band and gaining a lot of following. If you like this, I think you will enjoy the rest of Discography. They are all good IMO. But I could be biased 🤣

Band Maid are highly talented and very professional who write and produce their own music. Miku, red flower, founded in the band in 2013 and struggling for a time. They had a breakout video, Thrill, that got 2 million views in 2 weeks. When they checked the views they found that nearly half were from Europe and the US. Very unusable for a Japanese band. With trip to Seattle for an Asian festival, they have become popular and famous world wide. In 2019 they worked with Tony Visconti who was TRex and David Bowie's producer and produce their song The Dragon Cries. They played 5 dates in the US in 2019 selling out all venues, New York City, Dallas and Los Angeles. We are awaiting a sane world so we can see them again.

Nice reaction. Best rock band today. Just incredibly talented. Kanami is right there in my favorite guitarists of all time. Akane, and Tamu from Nemophila are my favorite drummers right now. Puzzle, Moratorium, Onset great songs to try. But yes, hopefully get back to concerts. Band Maid does virtual shows. And Kanami stated in an interview they miss playing to audiences. But Band Maid and Nemophila are both favorite bands now. Nemophila song Life is great song as it’s filmed during a virtual show in august. After drummer Tamu came back after giving birth. And her holding back emotion is beautiful.

Live Hard Rock concerts are the best! Band-Maid is the epitome of a Hard Rock BAND! A true group where every single instrument shines! You have a ton more to go! Welcome to the crowd.
An additional J-rock group that I highly recommend is Glim Spanky. The singer Remi Matsuo writes all of the songs, and she is a brilliant songwriter. She also has an unusual voice (sort of husky and gritty). You can't go wrong if if you just picked a song at random, but I'll recommend that you start with GLIM SPANKY - Circle Of Time「GLIM SPANKY STREAMING SHOW 2020」2020.10.23 ON SHOOTING at TOKYO FM HALL or else GLIM SPANKY - 「怒りをくれよ」which is a theme song for an anime movie ONE PIECE FILM GOLD.

I think they got the same flavor to their music. They sound very different from each other due to their respective genres but, all the way you can hear the same "passion" they put in their music. It's a special ingredient that makes them both sound tasty and apart from the rest of bands. I really think Nemophila can some day be to the J-metal scene what B-M is to hard rock right now and will be in the near future

Band Maid, thumbs up! Any song from Band Maid's channel is great to listen to, but their live stuff is especially good. I'd go for Domination live, which another good song to start with. After that whatever interests you. Band Maid is an organically created band (by Miku, the back up singer po) not some corporate creation, and it shows I think in their music and their presence on stage.

I think that Bandmaid is not Japanese traditional style music, like Enka(演歌)、kayo-kyoku (歌謡曲)。Bandmaid music is miracle brand and unique new Japanese style, just like Miho Hazama.. These girls' talent are so miracle, never similar to Baby-Metal. All lyrics are written by Miku, and composed by their own.
Band Maud got about a hundred sings catalogue, and all are good, many are top quality songs.

If you want another all female metal band with great drumming, incredible dual guitar solos, and amazing vocals, then you should check out another Japanese band 'LoveBites' you could start off with 'Holy War' Live. All their songs are great so you can't really go wrong.

@@kikistravelservice They also just digitally released a very "pop" song, "about Us", which is a love letter to their fans and not even on the album they just dropped a few weeks ago, which in contrast is much more hard rock - listen to "about Us" and then "Warning!" and you'll be amazed it's the same group.
Because the thing about Band-Maid is, they can (and do) play almost anything; they are known for working those different sub-categories of rock you talked about into the same song, along with jazz and funk elements.(Yes, headphones are the way to go to catch everything - their songs are *packed* with details.) And on top of being terrific songwriters, instrumentalists, and live performers, they are all funny, endearing, and quirky.

You're about 3-4 years too late...
BIG problem: VOLUME - your sound is OK, but the band video is very weak and soft. I have volume full and I can barely hear it. Not a good user experience. Other reaction sites are fine. Please fix this. BAD for subscriptions.
Find some friends who like anime. I promise they won't laugh at you for liking J-rock!
