I really love this video. I'm so excited to make a Townsend case. Not only have you explained everything in perfect detail, but I am so grateful for your explanation of the fabrics used. I had no idea turtle tex was so cool. It'll be a great lining.
I haven't made one yet but I was thinking about using a reflective material for the inside to reflect the cold and using the train case part for cold drinks and cold things dishes containers with cold food and use the bottom part for paper plates silverware napkins as a picnic carrier. If I get the gumption to try it I'll post it to your Facebook page
For the lining fabric you state cut (1) 2” by 44”for piece O (train case extension) please show me where the 44” is cut , width wise or height wise. Height would mean I need 1 1/4 yard of fabric to be able to cut.
Good question Stacey. The recommendation is a 40 weight Polyester Thread. Check our great supply of thread on our website. Sallietomato.com. Happy Sewing!!
What kind of a sewing machine do you use to construct your bags? I have a Brother Luminaire. I'm not sure if I can construct your bags using this machine or if I should purchase Juki or similar.
Thank you for watching and asking your question. Jess is sewing on a BabyLock Accomplish in this video. We design all our patterns so that they can be made using home sewing machines and not industrial machines. Happy Sewing!

This is one of the more challenging bags.
This is considered an advanced bag for sewers. But Jess still does a great job explaining the steps.

Please check on page 1 of the pattern under CUTTING INSTRUCTIONS (WIDTH x HEIGHT) Hope that helps.
This is a great bag and video...what presser foot are you using when sewing this bag? Also what weight thread is used? Thank you so much...
She is recommending Sulky poly deco 40wt she has on her website
The foot is the very narrow zipper foot, it only fits the straight stitch only machine she is sewing on.
@@travelingnana13 my narrow foot fits my babylocks. i bought the short shank model that fits perfectly. I don't have to use my zip foot
Glad you enjoy the video. The thread recommendation is a 40 weight Polyester Thread. We are using a Teflon Foot in the video. Happy Sewing!!
What type of thread should I be using for my bags?
