    Chapter-10- Divisions of the Creation
In this enlightening conversation between Vidura and the great sage Maitreya, we explore the divisions of creation as described in the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam. Vidura, a pure devotee and seeker of absolute truth, inquires about the process by which Lord Brahmā created the different beings and planetary systems after receiving divine instructions from the Supreme Personality of Godhead.
Maitreya Muni explains how Brahmā engaged in deep penance and devotional service for 100 celestial years before beginning creation. He first divided the universe into three worlds and later into fourteen planetary divisions, making arrangements for different types of living entities. The discussion then moves to the role of eternal time (kāla) as an instrument of the Lord in the cosmic manifestation.
The creation is categorized into natural (prākṛta) and secondary (vaikṛta) forms. The first nine types of creation include the formation of material elements, false ego, senses, mind, and different living entities like trees, animals, and human beings. Brahmā, empowered by the Lord, further creates the demigods, forefathers, demons, Gandharvas, Yakṣas, and other celestial beings.
This chapter reveals the systematic way in which Lord Brahmā, the secondary creator, manifests life under the guidance of the Supreme Lord. It helps us understand that everything in the material world is governed by divine intelligence and eternal time. Through this wisdom, we realize the temporary nature of material existence and the importance of spiritual knowledge.
By studying these divine narrations, we deepen our faith in the Supreme Lord and His divine plan. Let us engage in bhakti-yoga and glorify Kṛṣṇa, the ultimate controller of creation.
