Hi James, My procreate allows me to add only one color code at a time. How do I enter all of these in one go ? is there a way to export and import color codes or can i put them in a file and import them ?
Jonas Hansen most ppl can draw better than they think they can they just either don’t have the time or don’t want to spend the time it takes to actually sit down and really try its very discouraging in the beginning I can draw pretty good and even I find that in the beginning of a drawing I’m like fuck man I don’t even want to keep going cuz I know it’s gonna take a while and mostly look like shit until the end product lol but usually if you actually stick with it it will turn out a lot better than you could’ve imagined
Jonas Hansen you can find reconditioned 1st gen iPad Pro’s for $3-400 on Apple and Amazon. To see all official reconditioned products on Apple, go to their website and search ‘refurbished’.
James I want to thank you for sparking back my love for art again. I used to do a lot of painting and had work in mall galleries in London for the Rba as a student. But overtime I'd lost touch as it's a lot of effort physically in terms getting paint etc.. but now I've found your channel I've dabbled in digital art and I'm loving it. Thank you so much and keep up with the hard work.
How to draw a mountain like James. Step 1: Draw different shades of blue from left to right Step 2: Copy and paste what you did upside down Step 3: Draw the rest of the mountain Step 4: Realize it looks like a 4 year old's drawing Step 5: Take a screenshot of James' mountain, and tell your friends you did it.
I thank you for speaking to the fact that this particular project is a bit more technical and challenging. But I was very encouraged by your coaching and explanations. Got a bit difficult when you were promoting your channel - it was hard to follow all the strokes and colors and my brain couldn’t follow and listen to the you tube stuff. I did enjoy understanding that you are a teacher and have a full time job - and that you make these for us because you enjoy teaching! I want you to know what an amazing teacher you are and encourage you to keep at it!!! Thank you for this lesson - I learned so much - from how to create a lighting effect on the landscape, how to create sky with believable clouds and most of all how to make reflective icy water! You rule!
It's my first time painting and just by following every step I got the exact same result, I'm just astonished. The world deserves more teachers like you. Keep working like this, we need you.
Thank you so much James. Your high school students are so lucky to have a teacher like you. Clear explanations, demonstrations & giving the reasons why you are doing it this way, step by step. Just what an old granny needs too. I've got to say "thank you " again.
Thank you so much! I started it, but figured halfway through that it was a bit difficult. Still liked how it looked! So I will be starting on one of your older tutorials. Thanks again for helping other people explore their skills!
I followed your tutorial step by step and I can't believe what I achieved with your help, I feel that I learned a lot in just one video, I will watch them all! You're the best teacher of the world!!
Just bought an iPad Pro and looking to getting an Apple Pencil. It’s been so long since I was interested in art. More of a photographer. But being digital it makes it so easy to just try and not feel bad wasting materials. Going to start watching some of you tutorials and see if I can grasp some of these ideas.
Although this is a digital tutorial you manage to teach us a lot (!!!) of painting/art itself! After all, no matter using real brushes and canvas or an iPad and digital pencil, my aim is to create art. What a great teacher you are James! I'm so happy and grateful to have found you today :)
I don't own an iPad Pro, but I do have a Surface Book and I feel that this can pretty easily be translated into my photoshop arts. But overall, these videos are honestly therapy for me. The kind of meditational music you run in the background makes all the difference for me. Thank you for putting out great content! Had an extremely stressfull day, Just found your channel today - This helped me in so many ways.
This was one of the most inspiring things I have ever watched. Waiting for my ipad to deliver so I can spend the next 10 years screwing up trying to recreate this myself
This is awesome! I just got my iPad Pro 11” with a 2nd gen Apple Pencil about a month or so ago and first thing I got was procreate and have been using it everyday. I consider my drawing style more of like new school, cartoon, kind of style and I like to draw characters, skulls, and new school tattoo kind of style and watching your video and learning how to paint on my new iPad Pro is awesome! Gives me some different styles to work with and play around with. Thanks for these videos they are awesome!
Wow man. Look how much you've improved your art. I'm so glad you challenged yourself and started drawing different things and also sharing your process with us. You rock.
I am just getting started learning to draw and work in digital art with Procreate. I was in a car accident a few weeks ago and have been out of work while I heal up (fractured my sternum). I've been using this time to do more with Procreate. Your videos and tutorials have been extremely inspirational and helpful with learning Procreate and techniques. Thank you so much!
I hope you're prepared to be the bob ross of procreate, because that's road you're heading down. It makes sense that you're a school teacher. You're very good at teaching which is an art form in and of itself. Great work!
By watching this, I now realize how fucking hard irl painting with lots of details is. The amount of changing colors and stepping back to see how it's working. Woah. I found a new appreciation for art.
I love your tutorials, I don't have an iPad (yet) to use them, but they are so great when it comes to understanding of how to construct images and what advantages the digital art has
This video was awesome..! I love how you have the foresight to start with block colours and layers and add detail over time. I tend to use images to help me see the natural shadows and develop the striking lines that help it look more realistic. I'm currently awaiting my new iPad Pro 2020, as i figured if i can get used to using the iPad i'll be able to get more creative more often and in more places. Really enjoyed the tutorial.
Awesome video!!! Just found your channel the other day, but am extremely happy I did. I have recently made the switch to more digital art and you have been a HUGE HELP. Your tutorials and procreate instructional videos have been amazing!!
Your artistic talent is obviously great, but in addition, your voice is very pleasant to listen to. I’m between jobs (starting again Aug 1) but I hope to help you on Patreon soon. Others have likened you to the digital Bob Ross, and I must agree. Thank you for sharing your gifts.
Loving your videos James and learning loads. Thank You! Really helping me get the most out of my iPad Pro and finding it such a relaxing way to wind down from work.
I am so excited to try your tutorial, you're great at explaining and make it easy to follow. thank you for posting your videos I've learned so much and I'm excited to learn more.
I did one following you're guidance and it is still very difficult for a non artist as me but ok there was a drawing eventually not perfect btw but ok. You inspire me also Maybe playing piano is more my creative thing. But I enjoyed it allot drawing and for sure you're video's are kind of relaxing to watch, even if you don't draw
Absolutely love your art on the iPad, I’m about to buy a iPad Pro and look forward to doing digital art, I am a oil painter but with travelling it’s not so easy. Thanks so much for your efforts. JH
