The fact that she named her show after a teacher she hadn’t seen or heard from since 6th grade, just goes to show the impact a teacher can have on a child’s life.

People truly don't understand the depth of impact teachers make, good or bad. I still remember every single teacher I've had, the bad ones stand out, but the ones I loved and who were kind and took their time with me and other students, they are a light in your mind that never goes away. One of my teachers doesn't know it, but she's my password on my computer. That's how much she impacted me. I love how this show shines a light on and helps teachers, too; their job is not easy, especially when too many schools go without the funding they deserve, and teachers go without the pay they deserve.
I'm so proud of Quinta. I've watched her grow since her Buzzfeed days and seeing her flourish now is so heartwarming.

Lemme tell you…I’m tight right now because I’m so happy! Jimmy brings Quinta on his show, highly rates hers, finds Quinta’s sixth-grade teacher (whom ABBOTT ELEMENTARY was named after)…and actually sends her on a first-class trip to celebrate both her retirement and being the show’s namesake! Damn! And I thought that Oprah was the only one who did things like this back in her day…
Thank you Quinta for representing Philly. My son had Ms. Abbot in 6th grade as well. He attended Hamilton Elementary. Ms. Abbot is a phenomenal educator, woman of excellence and a rare jewel!
This show is freaking hilarious. My mother is a retired elementary school teacher of 30+ years and when I tell you everything that happens in this show is exactly what happens in the urban public school system I MEAN IT 😂 the whole cast is so funny and talented, if you ain’t seen it you’re missing out. Got my mom and some friends addicted to it. We have watch parties every Tuesday at my house . Don’t let this show flop y’all we need multiple more seasons. Tuesday nights just got a whole lot funnier with Abbott📚✏️✂️
I love Quinta, and like many here have said, I've followed her since early Buzzfeed times, so I knew Abbot Elementary would be good, but whew! I agree, we need multiple seasons. Also, don't sleep on those child actors, they are killing it in every episode! Plus, Miss Sheryl Lee Ralph??? Come on. So much talent in that show. I hope you get to have those watch parties for many years!

omg yeaaas I've just started Abbott Elementary. But I would love if Quinta made a tv series based off working at the Apple Store. It defo reminds me of Superstore which I love!! Get so many flashbacks from being younger and working in retail/department stores. Go Quinta from her Buzzfeed days to being a full blown comedian, actress and show writer... we love to see the progression. Sooo yea I started sobbing when Quinta saw her teacher. Shout out to all the amazing teachers out there who have shaped us and built us up. They DO NOT get paid enough. It’s not about money at the end of the day but the impact they make should allow them to live incredibly comfortably.

I have been loving the show "Abbott Elementary" like everyone else but had no idea there was such a WONDERFUL backstory behind it! I LOVE that Quinta was paying tribute to a former teacher and we got the chance to see them reunite. Jimmy and his staff did a really wonderful thing bringing them together.
First time: Ms. Abbott is aging like fine wine!!! :) YES!!!!!!! Pay attention, folks!!!!! Ms. Abbott said "in complete sentences." That's good, old-fashioned teaching. That's what my mom taught me. That's what my schoolteachers reinforced. By the way, just started watching the show a few weeks ago. Love it!!!!

Okay, this was EVERYTHING! I don't know either of them, but I am smiling and crying simultaneously. I've been watching and sharing Quinta's videos forever and always knew she'd be successful. Additionally, I think we all have our own Mrs. Abbott's that made a difference in our lives. I am so happy she's able to retire knowing she was such a positive influence on her students.
