Many people love eating chocolate. This sweet snack is made from cacao beans. But behind the sweet taste, there are some hidden problems. Around the world, about 1.8 million children work on cacao farms. Plus, many trees get cut down to make space for these cacao farms.
Big chocolate companies promised to solve these problems, but not much changed. So, a company in the U.K. made a new kind of chocolate: “fake” chocolate. (B) It looks and tastes like regular chocolate. However, it doesn’t use any cacao beans! Instead, it uses *barley and **carob.
This new chocolate is better for the Earth and people. It might be a bit expensive. But if more people buy it, the dark side of the chocolate industry might become brighter!
