    I have a 2011 KZ trailer. Original switch just crapped out today at an open field campground. The owner used a Kabota tractor with a fork on the front to lift my trailer 8 inches. We put blocks under the landing gear, moved tractor, hooked up trailer to the truck, used the manual crank to lower landing gear, and went home. Will replace switch tomorrow and see what happens.

    Your buddies Camping with the Confers had the same issue and did a video several weeks ago. I have a 2023 and my 150 series 260rd like the Confers has Ground Control 3.0 my module is in the passthru. Great video for the older models!

      Yeah. Oh saw that video. It's been a pain for sure. Lippert said they never heard of the problem. Sigh!
      Thanks for watching! Keep in touch!

    So, you took the wires from the motor and connected them to a ring wire connector using a lever connector (red to red, black to black). And then connected the ring wire connector to the battery power source. What happened to the switch wires? Were the switch wires already connected directly to the motor? Did you just disconnect the wires from the old switch and connect to the new switch? I agree, the lever connectors are easier than the old wing twist connectors. But I have heard the wire inside some of the lever nuts had issues with sparking and creating heat and burn marks inside. And you have to make sure the lever connector is the correct gauge. Hey, just upgrade to a new Brinkley....lol.

      I'll be happy to provide you a one on one overview. 😂.
      Two wires go to the battery.
      From the battery and through the switch the other two leads go to the motor.
      Depending on the position of the switch it provides +12 to spin the motor one way and then in the other position +12 to spin the motor in the other direction.
      Basic circuit. After 3 failures of just swapping the switch I decided to call Lippert and they gave me pictures of an entire switch and line replacement.

    The switch was very hot, so something burnt up inside, causing the switch to no longer click when activated

      The internal plastic pieces were broken on all of mine. Maybe the switch was hot and causing the plastic to become brittle.
      So for this last switch replacement I replaced everything, the wiring the fuse and wired it directly to the battery.
      I guess time will tell.

    Is your installation fused?

    • @RVWagginTails
      @RVWagginTails  4 месяца назад +1

      It is. There is a 30amp fuse in line. Thank you for pointing that out. I totally forgot to show that.
      Though the replacement wasn't a direct Lippert replacement it was very similar to what they had recommended.
