@11:39 that's the bad thing happens when you expect something to it just like in the original song, but remember they're not a copy-cat when they did a cover version, they put a personal touch to it making it distant to the original song.

World'z Viral Inuuna kasi talak ng bibig niya kaya hindi niya napansin yung dynamic ng song and kung gaano ka complicated ang version nato. Sa totoo lang ang daming pangyayari if i didisect talaga ang song from note to note and with all the technicalities. This cover gave a new vibe to the original one which is so refreshing to hear than just a photocopy cover. Nakakadismaya lang talaga.

I think I understand what you're talking about as far as "explosion." There's this expectation that there's gonna be a grand "explosion" at certain points in the song, but they kinda "toned" it down. However, the jazzification of the song was just beautiful. I like it.

I see where u're coming from. Probably you have been clouded by your expectations way too much that's why the change in the composition sort of bummed u out. If you just refrained on pausing and talking way too much like literally every 30 sec and feel it even more I think you wouldnt lose it. Agree with u 100 with the skill tho but the "oomf" you were repetitively talking about, bruh they delivered. :)

He Says haha I mean I understand his POV. But from a perspective of watching these videos without basing it with other stuff would give you the feeling I believe owela wanted to feel. Which gives me a thought that reactions like these would be really effective for emphasizing artists skills and abilities. But for someone who would long for emotions to be felt, you have to put yourself "in the zone" while watching and not think of sumth you would say for the next minute or so. Like what we normal viewers often would actually do. These music geniuses don't just only sing but they perform. I think it's an unfair comparison, especially to say that they held back on the "grandiose" moments the original song had. You can tell by the arrangement that it's not THAT particular sound that they are aiming for.
As a person who has heard this first time, I can honestly say this was a great song. I haven't heard the original yet, but I'm kind of disappointed that the reaction had to be based on whether it's "better" or "comparable" against the standard and expectation you had from the original song. It's like comparing an orange to an apple.
With the change of genre, some things are bound to change and will be missing from what you have heard in the original so I believe this "review" would've been better if it was done for the second time, just to get the feel of the song and of the arrangement as it is and what it is intended to be.

The epicness of this song as originally sung equalled with that of Boyz II Men & Mariah Carey song. They are still on my playlist. Katrina's one take of Celine's I Surrender is much better than this.

Honestly, i had the same feeling about epicness... I watched the video and 20 secs in, i stopped it and i told myself ill just wait MGNs reaction... Now hearing your comment, i was right. Then it occured to me, the original track was epic yes and a classic... If they followed the same route they will sound more like the original... and thats not their style.
I think the main take away is the reunion of this four great artists creating great music, a homage to the old and a subtle flavor for the new generation.

It probably wasn’t meant to copy the original. This is done in a studio where the epic-ness could be contained in the parameters of post production. Celine Dion is epic. There’s no comparison to her. These guys did an amazing job and like you mentioned before they changed it up. Why are you looking for the same “epicness?” It’s epic on its own. Imagine if they did the belts and parts of the song without holding back to give the epic feeling you wanted to hear.... it’d be more chaotic to have 4 people do that. You said it yourself, the sound engineers did a very good job to mix. Maybe the actual power/sound got diluted in the power... I’d like to hear this live.
