I would've never thought this video would get these many views since i uploaded this 5 years ago. I'm thinking to start making videos again such as horror animated videos, story times, and maybe even start making singing videos. Let me know you guy's suggestions!

The fact is Inuyasha finds different comfort in both women. He shares his loneliness with Kikyo but Kagome is the one who brought positive influence and saves him from loneliness. Without Kikyo Kagome won't be able to meet Inuyasha. Inuyasha would have become human with the sacred jewel and live together with Kikyo. The sacred jewel would have ceased to exist. But because of unfortunate misunderstanding it was reborn in Kagome. I truly feel sad for Kikyo.
The sad thing is that what they were going to wish for wasn't the correct wish. Kagome realised that in the end, the only true wish was to destroy the jewel. It would not have given Inuyasha and Kikyo what they wanted.. .
I would have felt sorry for Kikyo but after she stole Kagomes jewel shards and hands them to Naraku which causes dozens of lives to be lost including Kogas comrades it's hard to feel sorry for her
This is 100% the prettiest song from Inuyasha and this scene is one of the very few in any show/movie that has ever made me cry. Not to mention the fact that it makes me cry EVERY time I see it.

She just wanted to be ordinary, happy, in love. When I was younger, I didn’t see her pain. But all of it was manipulated and stolen from her… breaks my heart to this day.

Imagine having so much put on you and then when you FINALLY think you can be happy, it's all torn away and you die believing the lie that the one you love killed you? People hating on Kikyo just dumb general. This Woman saved mankind and gave her life protecting everybody. She came back and found out the one person she loves still alive but with another woman. She came back try save everybody again. She was always on her own when she comes back. People never think about her journey and how sad yet heroic . Hating her is just kids being dumb or adults being stupid
When she first came back, she was extremely bitter and somewhat prideful, thinking Naraku couldn't touch her and that she was on top of things. During the Final Act, she mellowed out quite a bit and was acting pretty much purely in everyone's best interest. She even sacrificed her opportunity to kill Naraku in order to save Kohaku's life. Kagome definitely had a vital role in quelling Kikyo's rage and allowing her to rest peacefully.
Listening to this set my heart in flames and left it bleeding beyond hope. The wound re-opens every time I listen to it! That scene where Kikyo smiles and tells Inuyasha that coming for her was good enough, followed by the kiss as they both tear up, and then uttering his name in her heart before departing. That was without a doubt one of the most powerful and heart-wrenching moments I've seen anywhere. Probably my top favorite. It really reminds you of how powerless we all are before fate. "Once the threads of fate are tangled they cannot be undone."
I love your opinion very much, i can imagine a whole anime just because of this... And for those say Kikyou was selfish... It's not that Kikyo didn't love Inuyasha as a half-demon. She asked him to turn human wasn't because she didn't accept his other part. She thought if the fighting state kept on, they couldn't be themselves. Demon would keep coming after the Jewel. If they were careless, they would lose the person they loved. (Kikyo hurted & nearly lost her sister for her careless). So the Jewel need to disappear first. And she just thought by using it to turn Inuyasha into human would pure the Shikon Jewel completely. While Kikyo was Shikon jewel's guardian, when it disappeared, they could put their guards down and live with open-up heart. What's wrong with that thinking based on what she'd been through? The fact about Shikon Jewel, which would never truly gain anyone's wish, was just revealed in the very last moment of the series. Kikyo tried her best with all she could think off. She just meant she couldn't selfishly have her own happiness while having her duty. How can people kept changing the meaning of it? Kagome acted different because she had lived in a different world and never had the harsh start as Kikyo did. She knew the Shikon Jewel need to disappear too... However, the only way to do it was asking it to disappear itself. Furthermore, Inuyasha wasn't strong back then. They didn't have time to gown together. And before they could, Naraku tore them apart.
Kikyou,beautiful and passionate, as delicate as moonlight. I like such great women, she fights alone, even beyond her power. The way she try to fight the storm, the unilateral suffering in the face of fate makes me love !!! I say that is the real beauty!
Honestly people need to remember something about Kikyo. The Kikyo we experience in the show was stated to be a SHADOW of the real Kikyo. Not the actual Kikyo. And the shadow was reincarnated from the EXACT moment of her death. She died after being tricked. She died believing that the love of her life Betrayed her and she died in mental anguish and pain and now her shadow can't even grow beyond that because the shadow is not alive. The REAL Kikyo was a beautiful person and she been truly reincarnated would have done all the right things because that who she was. And that's why Kagome is the way she is. She is the reincarnation of the REAL Kikyo not a shadow of the former Kikyo spirit.
well said ^ it just feels so unfair. i was always kind of neutral towards kikyo up until ep 147-148 which expand more on her relationship with inuyasha in the past which was literally heartbreaking
I honestly see Kagome as really just a younger Kikyo in the sense that Kikyo had more experience than Kagome did initially. I think Kikyo in her own way helped Kagome once she'd been revived. I think Kikyo WAS fully revived but at first she was still so tainted by how she'd died the first time and that's why she was a little bit psycho in that episode, but I think she starts to realize slowly but surely what had actually happened. Yes she did treat Kagome rather badly but I still think her anger and confusion at how she died was the cause of that rather than her actually disliking Kagome who is of course her other half. In the end she realized the truth of what had happened and as a result was able to move on and be at rest.
That may have been the case at the beginning, but given in this death that Kikyo didn’t return to Kagome, shows that Kikyo and Kagome are two different person. Kikyo is Kikyo and Kagome is Kagome.
@@loganw1232 There is no way for the Kikyo to return to Kagome because she's not a true reincarnation. She has Kikyo's spirit will and thoughts but is NOT Kikyo. Kikyo has died. Kikoyo has died and her spirit has reincarnated into Kagome.She stated herself that she is only a shadow. Watch the episodes of Kikyo's reincarnation. Kikyo and Kagome are totally two seperate people but Kikyo is truly gone and her soul has transformed into Kagome.
@@narutoninjagoandtheflashar4256 Yeah, on the first seasons, i kinda hated her for "kinda" interrupting on Inuyasha and Kagome's chemistry, until i realized it was not Kikyo's fault to be like that (cold, being a villain at times). Naraku was the one to blame, She really was a tragic character. She was born a priestess with spirtual powers; she haven't experienced being a "normal and typical teenager" thus she has big responsibilities and duties instead, she was given the duty to be the guardian and protector of the sacred jewel. She sealed inuyasha on the sacred tree for the thought that Inuyasha stole the sacred jewel; and now, as she was reborn made by graveyard soil and dirt. She watched Inuyasha slowly falling inlove with her own reincarnation. I love and ship Kagome and Inuyasha. But i think Kikyo will be Inuyasha's one and great love. PS: Sorry for my english ;))
My brothers and me watched this anime when we were younger. They are everything except "mature" and I can tell you, they stopped watching this anime because of Kagome. They said she was the most annoying main character of all time, I couldn't agree with them more. While Kikyo on the other side, was such a graceful and melancholic beauty.
everbody is always so negative towards Kikyo, always saying that they hate her, that they wish she wasnt in the show, but without Kikyo there wouldn't had been a Kagome seeing as how Kagome is Kikyos reincarnation, and also saying that Kagome and InuYasha are meant for each other and Kikyo needs to go away, but before Kagome, again there was Kikyo, Kikyo will always and forever have a part of Inyuasha heart, cause they have history, and were in love, and if Naraku hadn't interfered with there relationship, InuYasha wouldve become human and they probably wouldve had a family and grew old with one another, had Kikyo not died, and didnt burn the Jewel with her, the Jewel wouldnt have even been in Kagome, and Kagome wouldnt had ever met InuYasha, so I, personally, love kikyo for everything she is, and she is honestly my favorite charater in InuYasha

I first hated her alot for obvious reasons But when I rewatched the show again and ACTUALLY tried to see her character as a sympathetic one because she was supposed to one and i realized that she was never wrong with her actions because everything that happened to her was truly tragic and anybody would become bitter after what they have already gone through and were forced to become to the world of the living only to feel more pain Kikyou's character was truly beautiful and i cried a lot when she died for the last time in the arms of the person she loved the most Kikyou deserved better period!
Every time I watch Kikyo's death scene I cry. Thinking about her hardships and her love for Inuyasha being so strong it transversed 500 years into the future.
Inuyasha had some the most beautiful theme and opening/ending music of any anime I've watched. When the crescendo hit as Kikyo's soul ascended, I cried like a baby, and it was because of both the scene and also the heart wrenching music.
I don't think any other character has ever been portrayed so perfectly. Making the viewer feel a heavy guilt at the time of death, when hating them throughout the whole series. It aligned brilliantly.

I never hated her. As the story orofressed she grew into one of my favorite characters. Here theme was beautiful and haunting . When Sersuna learns to okay the violin in Yashahime, she plays Kikyu's theme.
I love this song. Kikyō was never a bad person. She just wanted to live her life as an ordinary woman with Inuyasha but her life was tragically cut short. People say they hated Kikyō because she was in the middle of Inuyasha’s and Kagome’s growing relationship. I don’t hate Kikyō she’s actually my favorite. She got resurrected against her will. If it wasn’t for Kikyō dying and wishing to be with Inuyasha, the jewel wouldn’t have reincarnated her into Kagome from the modern world and Kagome wouldn’t have been able to travel back in time to meet Inuyasha. Kagome was fated to meet Inuyasha since it was Kikyō’s dying wish. It was cruel to bring her back from the dead as it made her a competition for Inuyasha’s feelings that’s why I don’t hate Kikyō :)
Because she is very pretty, good, and intelligent and she saved kohaku's life proves that she is the best but not kagome because kagome can't even bring back kohaku.
It’s been 18 yrs since I’ve watch Inuyasha. Now, I have two children and I just come to realized that I have always loved Inuyasha and still have this little space in my heart belongs to this movie/series. I salute to the whole creator of this character. The background music soothing to my bones and soul❤️.
I can't but to reel great sadness for Kikyo. Though many did not see it, Kikyo's love was sincere, gentle, pure, and innocent. Unfortunately, due to Naraku's ambitions, she became tainted by her despair and grief. Every time I hear this, I can't help but to feel regret of such a sincere and tragic soul lost to the scuffles of "fate" and "destiny". All she ever wished for was a future with the man she loved, that's all any of us wish for-- to be with the one whom we treasure and love the most. She was at peace knowing she no longer would be a pawn or victim to "fate" and "destiny"; she died knowing the love of the man she cherished above all else, and with that, her soul was set free. Kikyo was a beautiful and yet tragic soul.
Wrong. Everyone is just blinded by her looks and straight back attitude and sappy sadness. It doesn't matter what she thinks or what happened to her. She was a phantom of curse. When she was alive and dead. She wouldn't know good or understand true sadness if it hit her in the face and back. No matter what anyone says she's a wretch. I didn't feel sorry for her at all when she died. I was just happy she was finally gone.

Master Brad Sesshomaru never shows any emotion (except when Rins life was in the balance) but something tells me in his own way he felt the weight of Kaguras death and maybe even, again in his own way, had some type of feelings for her. After all he did rush to her dying side and admitted to her he knew full well it was her and not Naraku..
Kikyo’s story left a great impact on me. I just cannot! This girl deserved more 😭😭😭💔 its so depressing. Among all the anime that i had watched, kikyo will be the saddest for me.
I know this part was sad and all, but I kind of ended up laughing at how Koga was just..there. Like, everyone's crying about how Kikyo was dead, and he's just kind of chilling on the hill, thinking "Dang. My shards". For some reason that just struck me as funny. But seriously, this was sad. God, that part where Inuyasha started crying. I practically cried right then.
Although I finished watching this when it came out years ago, I rewatched it again and finally understood moments that I could not understand as a grade school student. Even though I did not particularly like Kikyo, I understood just how much suffering she had to endure after the Naraku fiasco between her and Inuyasha. When she died, she couldn't even rest in peace since she was forcefully brought back. Her hatred and lack of emotion was from her suffering heart; she had such a heartbreaking fate. I'm just so glad that she was able to finally go in peace and did so in Inuyasha's arms. That teary kiss they shared was so heartbreaking, yet so heartwarming at the same time. The anime truly did her justice by giving her such a beautiful soundtrack to leave with. So pleased with how perfect this scene was.
I criedddd so much during her death scene. I felt like she always just wanted the best for everyone in the end, and she was happy that she finally got to “live” as a “regular” woman. Damnn. I hated her so much growing up, but watching it again now that I’m older, made me love her.

this Is the most saddest part in the series .... when u see the actual part when kikyo Is in inuyashas arms for the last time...u feel the sorrow .... n to see inuyasha cry ...and although she never spoke to miroku and the other too much...she blessed him with her light and said her final goodbye...it really touched my heart.... I salute the author .... u did well .... we not only see the show but also feel for it...
After so many years, this still makes me cry. Kikyo was an amazing character with so much depth and sadness. To give so much and yet....she's the very definition of "no good deed goes unpunished".
Kikyo was the first and only true love of Inuyasha and always will be, no matter what happens now with kagome. The love that Inuyasha felt for Kikyo will never die even if they're no longer together.

growing up I didn't think the character and the song were related, but they are and it's just beautiful and fitting and noble for such a rich complex relationship 🌹
I wish they showed more of Kikyo and Inuyashas relationship before they got torn apart. Their love story was so much romantic and deeper than what he had with kagome and kikyo is hands down the best character. She purposely didnt go back to Inuyasha because she knew she was dead, even though she still loved him and he still loved her. She did the most for every character, like literally miroku, kohaku, and rin would all be death if it wasnt for her, and she got nothing in return. She died 3 freaking times for crying out loud, but she still came back and helped destroy Naraku even after her final death. People need to educate themselves on kikyo before you hate on her just because of your ship. If you dont wanna read the entire manga then whatever at least read her wikia page lol. Her character is the most tragic and the best. Without a doubt if the story was told from her perspective everyone would all be team kikyo.

I actually just finished The Final Act at one am this morning.. and I've been watching InuYasha since I was about eight. I finished my childhood. I used to hate Kikyo through and through till the final act.. and her death had me bawling my eyes out. .. I never felt so bad till her death, saddest anime character death there is no tops..

No anime has impacted me on their music as Inuyasha. I grew up to this series and the soundtrack is just as memorable than the characters created by its original manga artist. One of my favorite composition by Kaoru Wada who understood the characters really well.
Just watched this ep and holy gosh i cried hard. I don't get how people could hate her, shes such a wonderful character that had her life taken away from. Couldn't live it like a normal girl. Freaking hell, RIP Kikyo, one of the most beautiful characters i've ever seen.

It's one of the toughest things people have to go through. Letting go is difficult. Sometimes it feels like you can't even let go. First love is first love, and it's the moment in your life that you've ever cared for someone so much with all your heart. Heck, just listening to this OST brings me to tears...
Hirali Patel However, Kagome knows and admits that in an episode where she admits to Kagura and Hakudoshi that she is in love with Inuyasha. She knows he loves Kikyou and knows he will go off to find her whenever he can and just as he can't help that he loves her. She can't help that she loves him. That triangle kills me man. Just like set Kagome up with someone else, revive Kikyou, and make the Inuyasha Kingdom all and well with the world. Hell, set her up with Sesshomaru because Kagura went and bit the dust. He has no partner now. Everyone says Rin x Sessh...but he's like raising her and on some level, at least with me, that just seems wrong.
I was rewatching the show and I watched the episode where they did the full story. Idk if it's only the English translation but I realized he had proposed to kikiyo like that was his fiancé. So when I saw that it gave me a new perspective of how mature their relationship was compared to kagome.

Kikyo died in the arms of the guy he loved. Kagura died after seeing his guy one last time. Kanna died but finally felt something and that is she didn’t want to die. I actually wanted these three have a happy ending but i guess their final moments were great.

Kikyo, lo siento. Tu me necesitabas y no pude salvarte..." Kikyo: "... Viniste por mi, eso fué suficiente..." Una de las escenas mas desgarradoras de todo el anime, con Akame Ga Kill también fué terrible, más por la muerte de Mine. Ese beso de Tatsumi y ella fué épico, demostrandose el amor que se tenían el uno hacia el otro.

Every time I go into an Inuyasha video, I always see a Kikyo vs Kagome debate. And everytime I see one, I just wonder why these guys are butting heads over this, because these two are legit the same fucking person. Kagome is the reincarnation of Kikyo, raised in a more chill and normal world, yeah, but it's still Kikyo's soul. It's the hand of fate sending Inuyasha his true love back in a different body, that's all!
Everytime I hear this theme it makes me sad and sometimes I cry. It's just even though Kagome and Kikyo are somehow related, it doesn't change the fact that Inuyasha will forever love kikyo as kikyo and that's the boundary that Kagome is facing every time. It's painful to know that Inuyasha loves Kagome but he loves Kikyo too. Ouch ouch ouch. Well possessive women couldn't stand it.

Omg I knew it was dearest! This was one of my favorite endings from the original Inuyasha and when I kept hearing it in the final act and when she died I was like omg. It’s so sad. Poor Kikyo, but I think she got to live on in kagome 💚✨
I was a kikyo hater when I watched the show, now it’s more of indifference. I love Kagome and hate when people make little of her existence or her own personality saying she’s just a copy of kikyo who gets to be with inuyasha, as if Kagome is only a vessel to hold kikyo’s soul. I actually enjoyed the added episode where it showed kikyo and inuyasha falling in love. But for inuyasha’s growth as a person, he needed someone like Kagome in his life. Kikyo and inuyasha are bonded by loneliness and seeking comfort in each other. That’s love, I see that. Inuyasha and Kagome are bonded because of Kagome’s open and caring nature and not only made inuyasha less lonely, her cheerful, social skills encouraged him to make friends. Kagome wasn’t lonely or depressed, so she couldn’t relate to him, but she helped him. Their love is different than his love for kikyo, not in a way where he loves one more than the other, but loves them both for different reasons, which is probably why he couldn’t decide which girl he wanted to be with. Kagome was her own person and Kikyo herself noticed how strong she really was when they were stuck in that cave together. Kagome didn’t inherit kikyos love for inuyasha, she fell in love as herself. She gained her priestess powers but that’s it. Because of ‘fate’ or writing, kikyo was never meant to live happily ever after with inuyasha. But he needed an experience outside of his mother for human kindness and that was kikyo. So she did help him, it’s just Kagome helped in ways kikyo couldn’t because she remained a loner by choice so she didn’t know how to teach inuyasha the things kagome knew. I guess I always pulled for Kagome because I loved that she was the cheerful voice at his side encouraging him to be happy. And kikyo just always looked so depressed and didn’t seem like she was as open as Kagome. She even looked depressed when she was alive. Inuyasha became open to more things because of Kagome, so I wanted to see them grow. He knew he loved her but felt guilty because of his feelings for kikyo. I do wish he clearly made a choice before kikyo’s death and didn’t keep Kagome guessing if she was really just second in his heart. If he chose kikyo he’d have to go to the netherworld with her and say goodbye to all his new friends and Kagome. that didn’t seem fair. Inuyasha shouldn’t have felt guilty for kikyo’s death, they both got played. He didn’t owe her anything. It’s not his fault she died, he never tried to hurt her.
I just finished watching Inuyasha for the first time recently, and the scene where Kikyo dies hit me hard. I guess I really am a masochist for listening to this so soon, but since I'm already here, let the tears fall.
The writer or director knew the worth of Kikyo to the utmost, hence why during her last moments this song was added to the background..this masterpiece of a song is a perfect blend with Kikyo's character and her tragic backstory, my favourite character in the show were Naraku, Sesshōmaru and finally Kikyo, but Kikyo had the most complex and beautiful dynamics for a character than any other characters in the show...except maybe Naraku.

When i first watched inuyasha i was in 5th grade i used to hate kikyo because she always got in the way of kagome and inuyasha and i would love kagomes bubbly and energetic personality but now that i watched it all over again in my freshman year of college i realized that kikyo only wanted to live her life with her loved one and that fate didnt have that planned for her she suffered a lot and alone she walked many lonely roads and i give her so much respect now because as an adult you end up alone most of the time, she was able to keep her head high even when she was alone and suffering that to me makes her far more independent and beautiful
I watched inusyaha when I was little on toonami, and it was just reruns at this point bc it was like 2007 and I just remember being so in love with Kikyo. I had this concept that she was a villain because she came in between inuyahsha and kagome but I liked her and sesshomaru (sorry if it’s misspelled) the most. When I watched the final act when I was like 15 I cried like a baby. I loved her so much and she died but I was also happy she was finally at rest. She deserved so much better than what she was handed :(

The fact is Inuyasha finds different comfort in both women. He shares his loneliness with Kikyo but Kagome is the one who brought positive influence and saves him from loneliness. Without Kikyo Kagome won't be able to meet Inuyasha. Inuyasha would have become human with the sacred jewel and live together with Kikyo. The sacred jewel would have ceased to exist. But because of unfortunate misunderstanding it was reborn in Kagome. I truly feel sad for Kikyo.
The sad thing is that what they were going to wish for wasn't the correct wish. Kagome realised that in the end, the only true wish was to destroy the jewel. It would not have given Inuyasha and Kikyo what they wanted.. .
Their love was true. Even when she reincarnated, Kikyo found Inuyasha again. Thats the most powerful love I can think of.

When she first came back, she was extremely bitter and somewhat prideful, thinking Naraku couldn't touch her and that she was on top of things. During the Final Act, she mellowed out quite a bit and was acting pretty much purely in everyone's best interest. She even sacrificed her opportunity to kill Naraku in order to save Kohaku's life. Kagome definitely had a vital role in quelling Kikyo's rage and allowing her to rest peacefully.

That scene where Kikyo smiles and tells Inuyasha that coming for her was good enough, followed by the kiss as they both tear up, and then uttering his name in her heart before departing. That was without a doubt one of the most powerful and heart-wrenching moments I've seen anywhere. Probably my top favorite.

It's not that Kikyo didn't love Inuyasha as a half-demon.
She asked him to turn human wasn't because she didn't accept his other part. She thought if the fighting state kept on, they couldn't be themselves. Demon would keep coming after the Jewel. If they were careless, they would lose the person they loved. (Kikyo hurted & nearly lost her sister for her careless). So the Jewel need to disappear first. And she just thought by using it to turn Inuyasha into human would pure the Shikon Jewel completely. While Kikyo was Shikon jewel's guardian, when it disappeared, they could put their guards down and live with open-up heart. What's wrong with that thinking based on what she'd been through? The fact about Shikon Jewel, which would never truly gain anyone's wish, was just revealed in the very last moment of the series.
Kikyo tried her best with all she could think off. She just meant she couldn't selfishly have her own happiness while having her duty. How can people kept changing the meaning of it?
Kagome acted different because she had lived in a different world and never had the harsh start as Kikyo did. She knew the Shikon Jewel need to disappear too... However, the only way to do it was asking it to disappear itself.
Furthermore, Inuyasha wasn't strong back then. They didn't have time to gown together. And before they could, Naraku tore them apart.
Kikyou,beautiful and passionate, as delicate as moonlight. I like such great women, she fights alone, even beyond her power. The way she try to fight the storm, the unilateral suffering in the face of fate makes me love !!! I say that is the real beauty!

Honestly people need to remember something about Kikyo. The Kikyo we experience in the show was stated to be a SHADOW of the real Kikyo. Not the actual Kikyo. And the shadow was reincarnated from the EXACT moment of her death. She died after being tricked. She died believing that the love of her life Betrayed her and she died in mental anguish and pain and now her shadow can't even grow beyond that because the shadow is not alive. The REAL Kikyo was a beautiful person and she been truly reincarnated would have done all the right things because that who she was. And that's why Kagome is the way she is. She is the reincarnation of the REAL Kikyo not a shadow of the former Kikyo spirit.

I honestly see Kagome as really just a younger Kikyo in the sense that Kikyo had more experience than Kagome did initially. I think Kikyo in her own way helped Kagome once she'd been revived. I think Kikyo WAS fully revived but at first she was still so tainted by how she'd died the first time and that's why she was a little bit psycho in that episode, but I think she starts to realize slowly but surely what had actually happened. Yes she did treat Kagome rather badly but I still think her anger and confusion at how she died was the cause of that rather than her actually disliking Kagome who is of course her other half. In the end she realized the truth of what had happened and as a result was able to move on and be at rest.
That may have been the case at the beginning, but given in this death that Kikyo didn’t return to Kagome, shows that Kikyo and Kagome are two different person. Kikyo is Kikyo and Kagome is Kagome.

Naraku was the one to blame, She really was a tragic character. She was born a priestess with spirtual powers; she haven't experienced being a "normal and typical teenager" thus she has big responsibilities and duties instead, she was given the duty to be the guardian and protector of the sacred jewel. She sealed inuyasha on the sacred tree for the thought that Inuyasha stole the sacred jewel; and now, as she was reborn made by graveyard soil and dirt. She watched Inuyasha slowly falling inlove with her own reincarnation.

Every time I watch Kikyo's death scene I cry. Thinking about her hardships and her love for Inuyasha being so strong it transversed 500 years into the future.
Inuyasha had some the most beautiful theme and opening/ending music of any anime I've watched. When the crescendo hit as Kikyo's soul ascended, I cried like a baby, and it was because of both the scene and also the heart wrenching music.

Kikyō was never a bad person. She just wanted to live her life as an ordinary woman with Inuyasha but her life was tragically cut short. People say they hated Kikyō because she was in the middle of Inuyasha’s and Kagome’s growing relationship. I don’t hate Kikyō she’s actually my favorite. She got resurrected against her will. If it wasn’t for Kikyō dying and wishing to be with Inuyasha, the jewel wouldn’t have reincarnated her into Kagome from the modern world and Kagome wouldn’t have been able to travel back in time to meet Inuyasha. Kagome was fated to meet Inuyasha since it was Kikyō’s dying wish. It was cruel to bring her back from the dead as it made her a competition for Inuyasha’s feelings that’s why I don’t hate Kikyō :)

Now, I have two children and I just come to realized that I have always loved Inuyasha and still have this little space in my heart belongs to this movie/series. I can't but to reel great sadness for Kikyo. Though many did not see it, Kikyo's love was sincere, gentle, pure, and innocent. Unfortunately, due to Naraku's ambitions, she became tainted by her despair and grief. Every time I hear this, I can't help but to feel regret of such a sincere and tragic soul lost to the scuffles of "fate" and "destiny". All she ever wished for was a future with the man she loved, that's all any of us wish for-- to be with the one whom we treasure and love the most. She was at peace knowing she no longer would be a pawn or victim to "fate" and "destiny"; she died knowing the love of the man she cherished above all else, and with that, her soul was set free.

Although I finished watching this when it came out years ago, I rewatched it again and finally understood moments that I could not understand as a grade school student.
Even though I did not particularly like Kikyo, I understood just how much suffering she had to endure after the Naraku fiasco between her and Inuyasha. When she died, she couldn't even rest in peace since she was forcefully brought back. Her hatred and lack of emotion was from her suffering heart; she had such a heartbreaking fate.
I'm just so glad that she was able to finally go in peace and did so in Inuyasha's arms. That teary kiss they shared was so heartbreaking, yet so heartwarming at the same time.
The anime truly did her justice by giving her such a beautiful soundtrack to leave with. So pleased with how perfect this scene was.
Inuyasha has by far my all time favorite anime soundtrack. Everything was just so beautiful performed, it fit nearly every scene perfectly.

I criedddd so much during her death scene. I felt like she always just wanted the best for everyone in the end, and she was happy that she finally got to “live” as a “regular” woman. Damnn. I hated her so much growing up, but watching it again now that I’m older, made me love her.

I wish they showed more of Kikyo and Inuyashas relationship before they got torn apart. Their love story was so much romantic and deeper than what he had with kagome and kikyo is hands down the best character. She purposely didnt go back to Inuyasha because she knew she was dead, even though she still loved him and he still loved her. She did the most for every character, like literally miroku, kohaku, and rin would all be death if it wasnt for her, and she got nothing in return. She died 3 freaking times for crying out loud, but she still came back and helped destroy Naraku even after her final death. People need to educate themselves on kikyo before you hate on her just because of your ship. If you dont wanna read the entire manga then whatever at least read her wikia page lol. Her character is the most tragic and the best. Without a doubt if the story was told from her perspective everyone would all be team kikyo.

I used to hate Kikyo through and through till the final act.. and her death had me bawling my eyes out. .. I never felt so bad till her death, saddest anime character death there is no tops..

Kikyo's smile so heartwrenching. Kikyou,beautiful and passionate, as delicate as moonlight. I like such great women, she fights alone, even beyond her power. The way she try to fight the storm, the unilateral suffering in the face of fate makes me love !!! I say that is the real beauty!
No anime has impacted me on their music as Inuyasha. I grew up to this series and the soundtrack is just as memorable than the characters created by its original manga artist. One of my favorite composition by Kaoru Wada who understood the characters really well.

Just watched this ep and holy gosh i cried hard. I don't get how people could hate her, shes such a wonderful character that had her life taken away from. Couldn't live it like a normal girl. Freaking hell, RIP Kikyo, one of the most beautiful characters i've ever seen.

Kikyo was such a relatable character who's pain could've only been understood after a while, she hid her pain with a strong facade😭 She lived her after life thinking she was betrayed and didnt get to Rest In Peace till the very end.

I've recently been rewatching Inuyasha after many years. I can't help myself but to cry at this scene.
This makes me cry so much just thinking how inuyasha must feel after kikyo's death... Sometimes I think kagome get's a little too jealous of how inuyasha loves kikyo.. not that im hating on her but she get's sadden when ever he rushes off to meet kikyo. I mean i don't blame him Kikyo is his first love and on the bottom of his heart always will be. Kagome is a reborn of her and I like her too but sometimes she can be a little envy of Kikyo.

Hirali Patel I totally agree. This scene honestly made me cry. Not only that it was sad, but I know the feeling of losing your first love so this scene made me cry even harder remembering all that. It's one of the toughest things people have to go through. Letting go is difficult. Sometimes it feels like you can't even let go. First love is first love, and it's the moment in your life that you've ever cared for someone so much with all your heart. Heck, just listening to this OST brings me to tears...
Hirali Patel However, Kagome knows and admits that in an episode where she admits to Kagura and Hakudoshi that she is in love with Inuyasha. She knows he loves Kikyou and knows he will go off to find her whenever he can and just as he can't help that he loves her. She can't help that she loves him. That triangle kills me man. Just like set Kagome up with someone else, revive Kikyou, and make the Inuyasha Kingdom all and well with the world. Hell, set her up with Sesshomaru because Kagura went and bit the dust. He has no partner now. Everyone says Rin x Sessh...but he's like raising her and on some level, at least with me, that just seems wrong.
I was rewatching the show and I watched the episode where they did the full story. Idk if it's only the English translation but I realized he had proposed to kikiyo like that was his fiancé. So when I saw that it gave me a new perspective of how mature their relationship was compared to kagome.

Kikyo died in the arms of the guy he loved. Kagura died after seeing his guy one last time. Kanna died but finally felt something and that is she didn’t want to die. I actually wanted these three have a happy ending but i guess their final moments were great.

Every time I go into an Inuyasha video, I always see a Kikyo vs Kagome debate. And everytime I see one, I just wonder why these guys are butting heads over this, because these two are legit the same fucking person. Kagome is the reincarnation of Kikyo, raised in a more chill and normal world, yeah, but it's still Kikyo's soul. It's the hand of fate sending Inuyasha his true love back in a different body, that's all!

Everytime I hear this theme it makes me sad and sometimes I cry. It's just even though Kagome and Kikyo are somehow related, it doesn't change the fact that Inuyasha will forever love kikyo as kikyo and that's the boundary that Kagome is facing every time. It's painful to know that Inuyasha loves Kagome but he loves Kikyo too. Ouch ouch ouch. Well possessive women couldn't stand it.

Omg I knew it was dearest! This was one of my favorite endings from the original Inuyasha and when I kept hearing it in the final act and when she died I was like omg. It’s so sad. Poor Kikyo, but I think she got to live on in kagome 💚✨
I was a kikyo hater when I watched the show, now it’s more of indifference. I love Kagome and hate when people make little of her existence or her own personality saying she’s just a copy of kikyo who gets to be with inuyasha, as if Kagome is only a vessel to hold kikyo’s soul. I actually enjoyed the added episode where it showed kikyo and inuyasha falling in love. But for inuyasha’s growth as a person, he needed someone like Kagome in his life.
Kikyo and inuyasha are bonded by loneliness and seeking comfort in each other. That’s love, I see that. Inuyasha and Kagome are bonded because of Kagome’s open and caring nature and not only made inuyasha less lonely, her cheerful, social skills encouraged him to make friends. Kagome wasn’t lonely or depressed, so she couldn’t relate to him, but she helped him. Their love is different than his love for kikyo, not in a way where he loves one more than the other, but loves them both for different reasons, which is probably why he couldn’t decide which girl he wanted to be with. Kagome was her own person and Kikyo herself noticed how strong she really was when they were stuck in that cave together. Kagome didn’t inherit kikyos love for inuyasha, she fell in love as herself. She gained her priestess powers but that’s it.
Because of ‘fate’ or writing, kikyo was never meant to live happily ever after with inuyasha. But he needed an experience outside of his mother for human kindness and that was kikyo. So she did help him, it’s just Kagome helped in ways kikyo couldn’t because she remained a loner by choice so she didn’t know how to teach inuyasha the things kagome knew. I guess I always pulled for Kagome because I loved that she was the cheerful voice at his side encouraging him to be happy. And kikyo just always looked so depressed and didn’t seem like she was as open as Kagome. She even looked depressed when she was alive.
Inuyasha became open to more things because of Kagome, so I wanted to see them grow. He knew he loved her but felt guilty because of his feelings for kikyo.
I do wish he clearly made a choice before kikyo’s death and didn’t keep Kagome guessing if she was really just second in his heart. If he chose kikyo he’d have to go to the netherworld with her and say goodbye to all his new friends and Kagome. that didn’t seem fair.
Inuyasha shouldn’t have felt guilty for kikyo’s death, they both got played. He didn’t owe her anything. It’s not his fault she died, he never tried to hurt her.
I just finished watching Inuyasha for the first time recently, and the scene where Kikyo dies hit me hard. I guess I really am a masochist for listening to this so soon, but since I'm already here, let the tears fall.
The writer or director knew the worth of Kikyo to the utmost, hence why during her last moments this song was added to the background..this masterpiece of a song is a perfect blend with Kikyo's character and her tragic backstory, my favourite character in the show were Naraku, Sesshōmaru and finally Kikyo, but Kikyo had the most complex and beautiful dynamics for a character than any other characters in the show...except maybe Naraku.

When i first watched inuyasha i was in 5th grade i used to hate kikyo because she always got in the way of kagome and inuyasha and i would love kagomes bubbly and energetic personality but now that i watched it all over again in my freshman year of college i realized that kikyo only wanted to live her life with her loved one and that fate didnt have that planned for her she suffered a lot and alone she walked many lonely roads and i give her so much respect now because as an adult you end up alone most of the time, she was able to keep her head high even when she was alone and suffering that to me makes her far more independent and beautiful
Inuyasha is the first anime...... I saw 15 years ago..... Now I am 25.........even today this theme gives me butterflies in stomach....
I watched inusyaha when I was little on toonami, and it was just reruns at this point bc it was like 2007 and I just remember being so in love with Kikyo. I had this concept that she was a villain because she came in between inuyahsha and kagome but I liked her and sesshomaru (sorry if it’s misspelled) the most. When I watched the final act when I was like 15 I cried like a baby. I loved her so much and she died but I was also happy she was finally at rest. She deserved so much better than what she was handed :(
