I am writing furiously as you share each page. I have. Gazillion comments. I LOVE the swing effect of the dandelion encased in plastic. And, I love a million more ideas you introduced. You are so awesome!
My sister and I just loved this project so much, it was fun and very imformative. Hope you will have another long project in the future. Thanks for being you.
I love how you thought about the word that was being covered! I love dictionaries and words it is about the only reason I journal. and the same with the Bible. i was extremely blessed by the whole video but really enjoyed when you explained why you added the moving flower piece! Thanks for sharing that priceless info! ❤
Lol I've watched all Tim's lives this year but avoided last weekend because I too want everything because it's all AMAZING 😂. But the inspiration is always awesome, as are your videos! I think I'm going back into my book and add all these extras, my pages will look better for it. Lol I got a silhouette because of my hands and gave my big shot and hundreds to my daughter but missed embossing so much I bought a smaller die machine and yes, more dies 😂. I love how you link things like great aunt Tessie. Your glue on the thread lets me thread my needles first go every single time, including my sewing machine. Love the tiny stuff, I'm working on a micro journal and it's so cute! I'm sorry for the long comment! Thank you 💖💖
I love the long comment as it helps me to get to know you and also allows me to learn which aspects of the videos you find most helpful. A micro journal? I so love those! I'm Cori Marcher Dahmen on Instagram if you'd be willing to show me that project :)
Oh yes I'll look for you later 😁. My name will come up as Mommyarty (now there's a BIG clue about me! If you can't guess I will tell you😄) but my avitar is the same little cartoon sketch. My inspiration for it are you and Barbara from 49 dragonflies! X
I found a whole big tub of family treasures paper punches and wasn’t sure how to use them. Now I gotta see if they still have them 😮. Glad I watched this!❤
Oh my goodness! I love your videos. Your excitement is palpable . This is my next project and I am making it beautiful because I love your idea of self being as worthy as all of the books I give away.
Cori. I love Tim and Mario. I so respect his creativity. I try to never miss a live. His design team is awesome. In August he starts 9 straight weeks of Christmas release.
Hello Cori, I have been missing your videos and was worried something had happened. I read through the comments below and thankfully see it's life keeping you busy. It will be lovely to see you back when you can fit it in, in the meantime take care 😊
Cori I really love ALL your tutorials. You are an amazing teacher and always very inspiring! Thanks so much for all the time, effort and creativity you share with us.
Wow that was fantastic tutorial. You do a wonderful job, thank you so much for sharing. Some day I will get busy and make my own but for now I will just watch these videos over and over again. Thank you so much for putting these together, I am sure it was a lot of work and I for one really appreciate it.
I've watched this before but after doing some of it i understand better when you're explaining it. I hope you knoŵ what i mean. I haven't reached the point where i can do something different on every page but I'm getting there thanks to your absolute genius. Ŵhat a gift you have. Thank you for your investment in time. I appreciate it so much.
Im trying to go back and get caught up! I can't wait for the next start to finish tutorial. You are the best, so easy to follow and videos that get the job done in a short amount of time! Thank you, dedicated follower!!
Thank you very much! It will be a bit before I can do another start-to-finish. They are time consuming, and though I love making them, my summer is flying by!
Thank you so much Cori for guiding us through this Scrap Buster Idea Book - I'm so grateful! Now it remains for me to put mine together - which should not be a problem after seeing your amazing tutorials! Wish you and your family a great summer! Hugs from Helen
Love the addition of the hinged flower! Cori, you are a naughty lady - you mentioned Tim’s video and off I went. Awesome creations! And now I have a HUGE wish list.
Great instruction Cori, nearly there and I love them all. Tracie's tag is fabulous and Tim Holtz video is so so inspring and mind blowing the creativeness. :)
I am done! I am exhausted and my home looks like a paper whirlwind. If it has been so much work to follow along, I can't imagine what it has been like to make three journals and create the video. We are so fortunate to have such a talented teacher willing to do this for us.
I’ve been busily scribbling notes and diagrams, for the time in the near future I can actually sit and work on my new book. So many ideas, sooooo many. I just love these books.
I appreciate that you know what you’re going to do and have the pieces ready to go. Thank you for preparing things ahead of time, I know it’s a great deal of work.

Oh my my, amazing journals. Glad I found your channel. Have to start at the beginning to make one start to finish. Thank you for sharing amazing talent with us.
Well done for finishing the book, it’s just beautiful! I’ve really enjoyed watching your videos since finding your channel. I’m going to give the book a try. I would really appreciate it if you could do a video on dying your coffee paper. I’ve had a go but they look nothing like yours 🤣. Thank you for sharing x
Thank you so much for all your wonderful ideas. Can I please ask how you bind your journals to make them lay flat? How many pages per signature. Could you please do a video from start to finish making the same journal you have on this video. Your kindness means so much. Friend from North Georgia Mountains Jan
Loved this whole series. I made one. It only has 32 pages. I’ve learnt so much from this series. Thank you so much. Please may I send u a flip through video of my ideas book please?
Please! I would love to see it! Do you have a YT channel? Or you can send it to my email, cdscrappin@aol.com. Just a head's up. I only check that email once a week or so. BUT, I do check it and I would love to see your flip through!
This has been an amazing series. I am so looking forward to constructing my book and having a final finished ideas book too 😊. I love how you enjoy the fine details and say how much fun it is! I am rather jealous of your tiny file folder punch! I wondered if there is a die out there that would do the same?!
I blame a lot of things on Timmy. The constant state of a depleted art supply budget. Die cutting, die cutting and then more die cutting. Coloring die cuts. Stamping and coloring. Addiction to his lives and all the makers. Just a general addiction! and this has been going on since he came on the scene in 2004! so I completely understand the distraction and then wanting to incorporate the ideas. I think that's why I love this book so much. thanks as always for sharing.
LOL! I've watched many of his lives, but have avoided the die ones as they are my kryptonite. I slept two hours last night because I just could not shut down my brain!
I am fairly new to this art and I love the spine where would I find the information to build one I love it and I love watching and listening to you you are such a great teacher thanks and have a great day
I just finished the last page. I’m going to go back tomorrow and see what else the book needs. I hope you’ll show us how to do the lace closure. I have lots of things made that I didn’t use. How do you organize the leftovers that didn’t get used in the junk journal? I’m thinking like things together in the clear pocket folders you showed in your cave tour. I’m going to use the smaller pieces leftover to hopefully make some clusters and snippet strips. If you could discuss using the leftovers, I’d appreciate it. Thanks.
I could do that! I have an earlier video that shows how I store my makes before they go into a journal and the leftover I often use for subsequent journal projects, happy mail or (in my case) the two for five envelopes.
Hello and thank you for all you do for us. Can you tell me where you explain how to make the signatures to lie flat? I am VERY NEW TO JJ so if you would just give me the chapter or where you explained it I will jump over there. You are the best teacher ever!!!! I just started my very first JJ and I love everything about it. THANK YOU!!!
LOL! I'm definitely not the best person to explain that process. Mine only lie flat occasionally. I do know that getting a page to lie flat is based on a ratio of spine space and page depth. Basically, the thinner your pages are the more you can include in each signature. The chubbier you like to make them ("fat" is just not a pleasant word for pages), the more space you need at the spine and the fewer pages you need per signature. I do not believe there is a magic formula... just keep in mind that to lie flat both ends need to accommodate a similar amount of space.
Wow!!! I love all the ideas🥰! I don’t know how to make a journal, and want to learn. So would you please tell me where or how to start? I bought some cardstock, different papers, and some other stuff, but I have never seen a video that show how to start making a journal. Your journals are awesome!
Cori did videos about 3 weeks ago of how she out this book together. If you click on the videos list at the top you can work backwards and there are videos for making the covers and how to put the signatures in the book. Hope that helps 😊

Yeah well, forget about getting Christmas in July presents for The Teacher or Anybody!!! I’m knee deep in scrapcraps and glue blobs. It’s over 100 here and my glues are drying midair!!! I’m running out of tape dots and glue tape. My postman thinks I’m getting drug deliveries by way Of Amazon!! But I am leaving him bottled water besides the mailbox, thou I’m going to start leaving Raman Noodles boxes with it since the water will make it lunchable!
I first found your channel last week showing scrappy embellishments Now I have watched a couple more and am certainly learning from you thank you . in this video you mention and show the binding you like but in what video are the instructions please?
Thank you Dorothy and welcome. In the scrapbuster series I have a video that shows inserting the pages. That method of sewing pages in with a machine is my personal favorite. Fast and easy.
Beautiful work as always, Cori! Have you considered maybe putting the books on eBay and letting your viewers determine the price? I'm sure it'll fetch a nice penny!
Did you do a tutorial on the stitched binding you show in this video. I believe you said you did but I can't find it, I love this and would love to give it a go.
Thank you and yes, there is a video that shows the binding. All those videos are listed as Scrap Buster idea book, and I think the one you are searching for is called "adding the signatures."
Thank you Gerda! I get mine on Amazon, but I believe most craft stores have them. I know Darice is one of the manufacturers. Precision tip glue bottle is how I found them.
Hi Denise and yes, it is in the scrap buster series and it is called "sewing in the signatures" (I think...) I use a size 11 most of the time and they are a middle sized needle.
Cori, did you tell us where you found that cotton frizz??? on another front, if you would like me to die cut anything for you, happy to do so. I think you've seen me do that for Coleen and Kathy too.
You are so sweet, thank you! I have two manual diecut machines, so I can cut most things. Well, things that I have dies for anyway :) I got the various colors of cotton frizz from Kerry at WhichCraftDoYouDo.com, but I also got some larger skeins from a shop on Etsy (there were several shops that carry it)
Thank you. Since asking my question I discovered your tutorial on the embossing and beeswax. I have learnt a lot from your tutorials, keep up the good work🥰
Hello, my wife Kat loves your ideas! She says they're just beautiful, but would love to know where you get the cotton frizz ribbon/trim? She knows that this video was awhile ago and hopes you will see it and respond thank you.
Hello Howard and Kat! I'm sorry for the delayed response, but I bought my cotton frizz from Kerry Fellowes at Which Craft Do You Do. She is based in Australia, but will ship world wide. Additionally, there are many US sellers as well, on Etsy.
I so wish I could! Tim does many incredible videos. I don't have specific ones saved or marked, but I'm certain you'll find lost of information and inspiration if you visit his YT site.

Hi Denise and yes, it is in the scrap buster series and it is called "sewing in the signatures" (I think...) I use a size 11 most of the time and they are a middle sized needle.
@@CoriDahmen Thank you!!!! Found It!!
Cori, did you tell us where you found that cotton frizz??? on another front, if you would like me to die cut anything for you, happy to do so. I think you've seen me do that for Coleen and Kathy too.
You are so sweet, thank you! I have two manual diecut machines, so I can cut most things. Well, things that I have dies for anyway :) I got the various colors of cotton frizz from Kerry at WhichCraftDoYouDo.com, but I also got some larger skeins from a shop on Etsy (there were several shops that carry it)
I love your tutorials and have a question, how do you get your little cards and die cuts so shiny? Thanks Cori
I use Seth Apter Vintage Beeswax embossing powder on them when I'm done coloring them. I love that stuff!
Thank you. Since asking my question I discovered your tutorial on the embossing and beeswax. I have learnt a lot from your tutorials, keep up the good work🥰
What is the difference between the nuvo drops and glossy accents? Any reason why you prefer one over the other?
I find the Nuvo consistency is easier to control and dries more quickly. Both do the same thing and work well.
Where will I find how to make the accordion spine I love that
Hi. There is a video in this series with "spine" in the title. It should pop up if you search that!
Thanks so much!!!
Thank you!
I’ve looked for your video about your spine binding and could not find it. Could you share the link please?
Hi Laine. It pops up if you search for "spine" or "binding". I hope that helps!
I need to purchase this journal..but cant get to your etsy store 😭
Both journals are sold, but thank you for your interest 😊
Awesome Books & Ideas!! Do you have a tutorial on the small file folder? I love it! It’s too cute!😆 TFS! Blessings!🥰💙🙋🏻♀️
That cute little file folder is a McGill punch. I found mine at a thrift store and I'm super glad I got it as it is just cute!
Can you send me the link to the time holtz video you were talking about? Thank u.
I so wish I could! Tim does many incredible videos. I don't have specific ones saved or marked, but I'm certain you'll find lost of information and inspiration if you visit his YT site.
Cory where do you find your little tiny doiles.
Hi Nancy! I got those, and often find them, at vintage malls and estate sales. But, I've seen several Etsy shops that carry them as well.
Did I miss the name of the Tim Holtz video you're swooning over?
Probably one of his lives. I get soooo many ideas from his fabulous creative team members!
