Hello Everyone! This video is going a bit wild and I can’t thank you all so much for the support and for following my journey. I have removed a few comments from those people who really don’t know my full story and that’s fine and I respect everyone’s opinion. I have full support from my family, as mentioned in this video.
They supported me with doing this and seeing my birth mother. I’m not trying to push the ‘Good son’ look. I’m trying to connect with her more and the way I do it, is my choice. I am not offending my own family by seeing my birth mother. You need to know the full story of course before questioning that. My family always and often talks about Tatiana. As I said in this video, she is my birth mother and not my Mum. The mother who raised me is my Mum in New Zealand and Tatiana understands this. She sees me (Tatiana) as that son who will visit from time to time. So please let’s show some respect here. Also with filming this, we filmed Tatiana for a very short part. The restaurant was a long night and we only videoed about a joke and also with me showing her some photos. In her cafe we also sat down with her for hours around all of this.
Many of you have asked too how we can help. Of course I don’t want to push that I can help her with everything and that would probably be a bit hard on her. As her life has been hard, I want to, when I see her from time to time. To show her that I’m there to connect with her. Her life has been back on track. She is an adult as some of you have said. But she was not raised in a family. She did not have a family to look after her. She is an adult but she still struggles. You need to put yourselves in her shoes for a day before judging that. She is a beautiful person, but she just never had that love given to her. Before I left I told her, I love you and she got quite emotional.
She may seem shy and she is. But she is my birth mother. Thank you so much for understanding and for all your support. Please know my full story, my relationship with my own family and the contact with my birth family first :) Russia is my blood but New Zealand is always my home. Thank you! 🙏

Alex, You spoke that so well. I understand everything you are doing from an adoptee's perspective. There are some things that only other adoptees can fully comprehend. Seems like your parents understand as well. The birth parents are No threat to the tight bond between you and your parents (true & active parents). No amount of growing relationships with your birth parents could ever diminish the life, love and bonds built throughout your childhood to present days you have with your Mom & Dad! You do not need to justify your self, defend your decisions, steps or have to reiterate the fact that you are in no way dishonoring your Mom & Dad back home! This is ALL YOUR Journey!
Btw, I am not just an adoptee but also a birthmother too. 😉 Broad range perspectives in life.🙃 You are doing great Alex✌️❤️

You said it beautifully. The more people that loves your child, the more blessed that child is...that is 100% true!!! You are blessed. Tatiana does not know this kind of love....she didn't grow up with it...she only had her partner's love and that was one person's love at a time. She is blessed now by receiving your unconditional love and she has your NZ's parents love and there are many people who follows you that loves her too. She can not be judged by her past. Her past is in her past and she should be admired for putting you up for adoption. Where would you have been today if you were brought up in those conditions? Alex, if people want to help Tatiana, let them. Open an account for Tatiana and deposit money in that account because Tatiana doesn't have a retirement fund and she won't be able to work until she is 80 years old. Just keep an eye on the account so that friends of her does not take advantage of her.
Send my love to Tatiana. Let her know that most of your followers loves her. We off cause love your birth farther and parents too.

First of all....people must stop criticizing Tatiana. She didn't have an abortion.. she gave you up for adoption by placing you in the orphanage. She didn't place you in a box in a park or under a bridge for adoption. She did the right thing. May God always protect her and keep her safe. Once she realised you are back in her life, she also did the right thing by telling you who your biological father is. I have much respect for her. Your parents brought you up to be a gentleman. Hat's off to them too.

Mama Tatiana May be guarded around her feelings so they aren’t broken again. The hard life you speak of is also in reference to losing her loved ones or being rejected herself. I can not imagine the heartache that goes around giving your child up for adoption. The fact you keep coming back, and giving her gifts and telling her you are there for her means so much. You can tell it’s hard to change her but she is softening. And she wore the jumper you bought her the very next day! That is her way to say she loves you.

Alex, you are a light in the darkness to your birth mother. It so honoring and loving what you have chosen to do in having a relationship with her. God's blessing will be on you even more than it already is because of this choice. It is evident that she has known a difficult life, but she did in fact give you life, and her giving you up opened the door to all the blessings you now have. That choice she made, though no doubt devestating at the time, has given way to you blessing her now all these years later. It is such a redemptive relationship Alex, and thank you for sharing it with the world.

Tatiana had the fright/scare of her life when you called her the 1st time and told her that you are her son. She never expected her son to pop up one day. She denied it at first but now she embraces you as one of her few diamonds in her crown. Maybe her only diamond in her crown. She is SOOOOOOO proud of you, Alex!!!! She had a very hard life...and I think her life is still very hard/tough. I don't think she has money laying around or in a savings account. I think she is very poor.
She is very conscious about her smile and teeth and that's why she cover up her mouth every time she smiles. She needs a makeover. You will give her a makeover in New Zealand.... I know you will. She needs to be pampered a little. I just love her. She gave you life. Xxx. WHEN YOU TWO MET FOR THE FIRST TIME...
She knew she is a poor person and from the "wrong side of the train tracks" and then she met you...a smart, educated young man from the upper class and you wanted to hug her and embrace her but.... for a very poor person to be hugged by a "rich" man....it is unheard of in her social groups. That is why she couldn't do it in the beginning. She is warming up every day from that day on. She was scared that you would come to see her....see she is from a lower class than you are...and then you would run and never come back. You have proven to her that you accepts her just like she is and that you are here to stay in her life even from abroad.
(Yes, I know I have an opinion about everything but I grew up on the wrong side of the train tracks....my own mom had no teeth at all and no dentures either because my mom walked the dirt roads of life to bring up 6 kids by her self. Twice, our family dog brought home stolen chickens that my mom could slaughter to feed us. She bought the scraps at the fish and chips shop....the batter and the very small pieces of chips that fell through the basket, to feed us. The shop sold it to her for a few cents. I know the dirt roads of life. I am not living on the "wrong side of the train tracks" anymore and today I have 6 children of my own of whom 3 are biological. My husband and I are busy adopting my 3rd and last child at the age of 55. She is nr 6. My own parents are deceased. )
Ps. Excuse my broken English, it is my 2nd language. The train track eufonism is from my country...maybe in your country it is not called the same. Lots of love from South Africa.

Again in my hometown! I can understand Tatiana, she probably feels confused about this situation. Especially because she can’t afford to buy enough of food and give gifts 😢 I admire you Alex! You are gorgeous guy! For me it could have been impossible, all what you do here... I would probably learned the culture and language , but couldn’t meet the woman who left me, even despite of her circumstances in the past. I was grown in 90s in Rybinsk, on certain days we didn’t have money for food, I was able to see my mother fighting for any chance to give us something. So many people around us have ended up in alcohol as a result of hard life, and I don’t judge them - some of us are strong enough , some are not. 90s definitely were challenging for many young people in Rybinsk at their 20s. Could you imagine a town with only one cafe which was closed because nobody had money? But my school was perfect despite of the situation in general. Hungry teachers were giving us everything and even tried to change their dresses 5 days a week in order to look decent before us.

I don't understand people who make judgements about women who have given their child up for adoption. They have given the gift of life when it would be so easy to take an alternative route. I had a friend who tried to commit suicide after giving her child up for adoption. No one knew how hard it had been for her until she ended up in a psychiatric unit. I know that she had made it clear to Social Welfare that if her child wanted to contact her then her details should be made available. They did make contact years later. We lost touch so I don't know if the relationship was ongoing and positive, however, watching you, Alex, I hope that my friend's child has the same loving acceptance. All of your parents must be so proud.

Bud. From Seattle, I'm watching now, but 20 percent through. I had to stop to say this: you are a beautiful young man in just about every way I can think to measure. Good on you and your marvelous Russian family. How damn fortunate they all are to have just a brilliant son/cousin/and all the rest to bring joy and love.
In all of this? Your parents in Oz. Geeze, man.
They raised a person who is a credit to all of us.
    They are very seriously: heroes.
    Hugs all the way around.

Tatiana wanted more for you than she thought she could provide. That is a special thing, she sacrificed loving & knowing you so perhaps your life would be bigger. She must have been terrified not having a family herself to show her what a parent is, She was without that reference. Who was she going to turn to for help and advice? like how to stop a baby from crying. Where she came from babies were probably left to cry until there was time for staff to give care. Her life is nothing to be ashamed of. How many things surround you is not a measure of a good life. I have next to nothing but I have friends and I enjoyed my life. I laughed and had fun, I toured 43 out of 50 states of America. toured England too. Mabe her life was meeting people hearing their stories. Ask her to tell you about them and their stories, about the history of her country and places she lived. I think she is amazing. And she has wisdom to give. I'm glad I stumbled across your story.

My sincere condolences to mama Tanya for the passing of her beloved Andrei...😥❤️ I would say that, physically, you, Alex, Sacha, look 50%-50% Tanya and Misha. You're this perfect mix of your birth moma and papa, which probably makes both of them happy when they look at you. How cool you went to spend time with her, it's so heartwarming. She deserves it. She's your birth mom, and also, when you look at it, her placing you at the orphanage led to the brightest possible future you could have had, right? She had made the best possible decision, the best she could in her situation, that's obvious. I hope she will find the strength in her to fight for a better future for herself, better health, to look forward to traveling places with you, both in Russia and in New Zealand. Much love to you guys from Belgrade, Serbia. ❤️👍

Alex, you are a gem. Vera is a wonderful help to you. The meeting with your mother went well. Looking back to your first encounter with your birth other and this one there has been an obvious change in her relationship with you. For what little it's worth here are my thoughts: When Tatiana put you in the orphanage, she probably thought she would never see you again. Your appearance on her doorstep some 20 years later put her in a state of shock having to deal with something she thought she would never have to cope with. Through your persistence in keeping contact with her she has slowly come to accept that you are back in her life and that it is a good thing. Your father didn't know that you existed and was thrilled that you made the effort to find him. He didn't live with the guilt of having put you in an orphanage. That's my armchair psychological appraisal. I hope it just keeps getting better for all of you.

Fun fact - name of the Rybinsk town literally means Fish town. In 16-17th century there used to be a settlement for fishermen who were exempt from taxes - Rybnaya sloboda - Fish village. And it stuck so well that this name stood its test of time though it was called different in late 80s.

Alex, your story is simply amazing. You obviously did the right thing reaching out to your birth parents, one can see clearly they are both so proud of you. But I would love to see a video of your NZ family also. Clearly they are wonderful persons with a big heart having raised such a compassionate and well-mannered young man. Have you considered making them part of your story on this channel? I see your Russian is improving also, good job! Although my native language is Romanian, I have spoken Russian since early childhood being raised in on one of the ex-Soviet republics. My wife is a native Russian speaker as well, so you can probably guess I have a good command of the language. And I do, but I still struggle with verb endings from time to time to this day! It's a super hard language, so don't be discouraged if you're struggling. Praying for you and your entire international family! God bless and best of wishes from Moldova.

Alex - wonderful video once again. You are obviously an old soul to have such a kind, open and mediating spirit with no begrudging your fate. I didn't realize your birth mother lived in Rybinsk. I visited friends there for New Year's many years ago. We spent some time in the city then drove north to what they called a resort near a huge reservoir built by Stalin. There wasn't a lot of daylight at that time of year, so I don't recall much about the town, but I do remember walking along the Volga.
Here is a little piece of advice about your Russian, which I can tell is going to be really wonderful and fluent if you keep working on it. The word for yesterday "вчера" has two syllables only(!) with the stress being on the second syllable. Because the ч follows the в, the в is "assimilated" into an "f" sound. So it is pronounced fche-RAH. The trick to pronouncing the first two consonants is to start to say "f" then change it immediately to "ch." It takes a little practice, but you'll realize it's not really hard. You're getting great practice while you're there. Again, молодец!

I watched the documentary and then found this video... Whilst you connected immediatly with your father, it was clear your mother was very reserved and almost ashamed. We need to put ourselves in her shoes and I deeply believe, sometimes, giving a child up for adoption can be the greatest sign of love a parent can give. She was barely an adult, lived in an orphanage herself and probably didn't have the means to take care of a baby like they need. It must have hurt her deeply and it probably was the most painful thing to live up with. I'm glad you found her and didn't have any resentments towards her. If I were in her shoes, I would be glad to know I made the "right" decision and allowed my child to have the life he deserved. You're a great person. Your adoptive parents have clearly raised you to be a compassionate man. All the best to you and your family!
