Why is graphite not good for GCMS? We have been using graphite o-ring for liner and graphite ferrules for connections. What problems have we been overlooking?
A 1.0 mm ID ferrule would typically be the one used with a 0.95 mm OD column. You can see some here www.restek.com/en/products/accessories-labware/gc-accessories/ferrules/107693/?sku=21058
Good Explanation sir.

Pure graphite ferrules can leak under vacuum. It is generally recommended to use a vespel or vespel/graphite blend, particularly at the source nut.
The other question is: Am I connecting to an ECD. That should always be graphite & vespel as the graphite is permeable to oxygen
Good addition, thank you!
What ferrule do I need for a semi-capillary column with an OD of 0.95 mm?
