Charlie Hopkinson is a comedic impressionist, impersonator, voice guy, whatever you want to call it who specialises in voices from current television shows and films. His standup is a character act about a retired maths teacher, his standup set includes impressions of Sir David Attenborough, Robin Williams, Morgan Freeman, Liam Neeson, Peaky Blinders, Tommy and Arthur Shelby and Gandalf from Lord of the Rings.
Always looking to update my roster I look to try out subscriber suggested impressions in the impressions challenge series before honing the best ones. Recently I have added Peaky Blinders and Marvel / Avengers characters to my arsenal!

I started learning impressions in 2012, at the age of 20. You can follow my full impressions journey in my new ‘How to do impressions’ tutorial series
After graduating from the University of Warwick in the summer 2013 he took 4 months out to concentrate on RUclips videos full time, including producing his most viewed video to date ‘Morgan Freeman and 40 other impressions’ with just over 12 million views. This foray into being a ‘full time RUclipsr’ was cut short as he went travelling for 3 months before starting a 2 year teaching Graduate scheme with Charity ‘Teach First’.
While teaching he has performed in and narrated the 4 episode series ‘Lookalikes’ as Morgan Freeman. The show and the narration received a positive reception. The show aired on Channel 4 during the prime time slot of Friday 10pm for three weeks. It is now currently available on Netflix. Charlie also performed with other well known impressionists for an unaired pilot.
Charlie has worked for several prominent brands in relation to their products, including google and formula 1.
Since the summer of 2016 Charlie has once again dived into the world of RUclips, for the first time producing content on a weekly basis. He is also focusing on live performance; he has performed in live venues a total of 3 times to date.

I’m pretty sure everyone who was involved with the Holiday Special was high as a kite. Actually, if I remember correctly one of the writers said they were doing a ton of cocaine at the time.

Yep. I was 10 & a big Star Wars fan. I’d also had lots of experience watching variety shows like Donny & Marie, Captain & Tenille & the Sonny & Cher Show.
Even at 10 years old, I knew this was abominably bad within a couple minutes of watching it, lol, though I believe I watched almost all of it. I’m thinking my dad probably came in from his study & wanted to watch Barnaby Jones or Rockford Files, which is why I missed some of it.🤣

I watched it until my big brother broke my x-wing and our living room turned into a war zone. Thanks mom for turning off the TV and sending me to my room for socking my brother. You may have saved a lot of my brain cells that night!
I saw it a while back, it was tragic but in a good way, very funny.

Yeah….as I commented the Holiday Special is truly, truly awful. I had the misfortune of sitting through this special and it’s genuinely horrible, not even as a piece of Star Wars, it’s just bad in general.
I hate it, I hate every second of it. Not even the OG cast could save this, people can say what they want about the prequels or sequels but to me the Holiday Special is just so genuinely awful on every level.
I can see why Lucas hates it so much, he wasn’t involved with CBS on the actual production of the special, he just basically greenlit the production. So once he actually watched it he called CBS and said “This can’t air ever again”.

While these original trilogy era Obi-Wan and Anakin/Vader impressions are great, I miss the Clone Wars/prequel era versions... I love whatever you put out though Charlie! Thanks for the content.
Yeah, I think we've just gotten so used to young Obi-Wan and stoner Anakin these past few videos, it's so jarring seeing old Obi-Wan and Darth Vader in their place.
I think it’s just for this episode.
I think Obi-Wan is going to go back to young Obi in the next one, and Anakin is probably going to stay stoner Anakin, or slowly become Vader, or stay in the Vader outfit.

This special was soo awful that ewan's obi wan decided to end it all and suicided, thus becoming the alec guinness force ghost.
I watched the abomination that is "The Holiday Special" on TV the one and only time it aired. Even as a 6 year old, I couldn't believe how much it sucked. The "boys" did a good job roasting it.
Yet 100x better than Disney.

Honestly, it makes a lot of sense that the Star Wars Holiday Special was created by Darth Vader to sap the willpower from the Empire’s citizens.
This was really funny but I think Vaders lines should include subtitles. It’s sometimes hard to understand him and I don’t want to miss the great jokes.

I agree it introduced Boba Fett. The 2-D cartoon of Clone Wars (by the Samauri Jack creator) introduced General Grevious, and made him awesome. Then the movies ruined him.

You don’t even need to watch it closely to see that. I noticed it the first time I watched it.
You have to annunciate your words much more for Vader as a lot of phrases were completely slurred together for a first hearing. That and slowing down would help emulate Vader's original cadence to his speech.

I had the misfortune of actually sitting through the entire Star Wars Holiday Special, say what you will about the Prequels and the Sequels, but this is genuinely awful and I hate every second of it. It’s flat boring and awful despite having the OG cast in it there’s literally nothing redeeming about it in any way.
Conflicted emotions.. on one hand I am utterly incapable of NOT watching one of Charlie's videos, they are too good... on the other, he forced me to watch the star wars special again so I could see his delightful work... yet I also had to endure the special itself.... so.... conflicted.... did I love this video?
