Easy Lemartes Painting guide! Chaplain of the Blood Angels, now with wings!

The new Blood Angels Army box is here and I got my hands on a creator copy thanks to @officialwarhammer!
Here's another super easy tutorial that won't fill you with the Black Rage while you're painting!
While I love the new Blood Angels models(even if I'm using them for Flesh Tearers!) I think adding some wings adds a much needed place for a colour other than black! I think the red wings sets off the black armour perfectly while maintaining the dark tone of the Death Company! Lemartes is a very unique character in 40K and researching his Black Rage filled lore made me even more excited to play him soon!
You can find all the parts I printed very easily online, I don't want to share links and get anyone in trouble!
Basing scheme:
AK Terrain Texture paste in Firelands-perfect dupe for Martian Ironcrust but a lot cheaper!
Allow each stage to fully dry in between!
Gryph-Hound Orange (contrast)
Ryza Rust (dry)
Screaming Skull (layer) Light drybrush over the top!

I wasn’t going to say anything but you did ask, I personally really dislike the added wings especially on Lemartes. I do thing the Sanguinary Guard should have them as they emulate their Primarch whom their forebears guarded personally. However they’re supposed to be unique and mark where they are on the battlefield and sticking them on everyone really waters down the effect and makes it a lot less special. Just my two cents
I definitely understand that however it’s cool so I’m glad it was done. Also I’m not really into the new jump packs so I have some older styled ones for my Primaris which work really well and looks more grim compared to the futuristic feel of these new ones. My blood angels are on the fringe of space in imperium nihilus and even there new Primaris are fielded with old but very dependable equipment.
@mrtricorder I get that but i see the tabletop as a tiny fraction of the overall battle so it's not that everyone has wings, just the section we're looking at :D

Blood Angels are my favourite Loyalist chapter such great lore and theme making them very interesting and complex but also have a big weakness that can also be a strength. Dont like the new models outside of one or two this being one of them. Turned out great bud 👌🏻 i also love the wings. I still have several boxes of the old stuff you can't grt any more including the old start collecting set with the Captain, one of the tanks and Dread 😎
Great video Andy, a very effective scheme on him very brooding. Out of curiosity as a former store manager do you think you’d get away with using these guys at a GW event with the shoulder pad and the wings? Or are the wings maybe too much but you might of got away with just the shoulder etc?
Should be fine they say they are fine with third party bits if not then they are idiots. The amount of creativity I have seen has dropped off the cliff with their rules for stuff. See more creative stuff of random people in stores than at big events.
@@yagsipcc287 they always used to have like a 80/20 rule, so like 80% had to be theirs, but it’s been awhile since I attended one of their large gaming events.

I love the wings, but rather than trim his crozius I'd have wasted a lot of time cutting the wings and repinning them back like a bird who's landed. I'd still be working on him next week though.

I dont think a single BA kit has been improved with the new releases. Seems like an artistic downgrade all around just to make them a tiny bit bigger in scale. Not worth what we lost.
