    Keep up the great work

    Here what I've learned and the end result came out really great.
    First I tilted the up the bare spot really well. Then I go in with the rake to rake up the old roots etc. Then I get a 50 lbs bag of seeds mixture I spread it down then I stired it to get in the dirt deeper. Then spread more seeds in Then rake it in ...I did this process like 3 or 4 times. The roots of the grass is alot healthy n stronger.

    I use timers in all my flower beds something like yours. I don't have to water the yard because here in South East Oklahoma it rains enough to keep it green. Take Care and God Bless y'all.

    5 or 6 years ago I plowed, harrowed, raked, smoothed and then used a seed hopper that held 250 lbs. of seed on my tractor to plant grass in my back yard. As I was finishing seeding, big fat rain drops started falling. We had record rainfall 5 of the next 6 days. My yard slopes down from the road, about 15 feet in 200. After the rain ended I found gullies a foot deep and a foot wide. Later, there were some very thick patches of grass at the bottom. Had to start all over... Those sprinklers look pretty good but I've got just too much yard for them. Like you, I used portable timers and a zillion hoses to water everything in stages after seeding. With well water there's just not enough pressure to do much.

      @@dustinhuffman574 There's only PRV's on city water connections. All the ones I've seen are adjustable so no reason to replace them unless they won't adjust. As I said above, I'm on a well so 40 PSI is a lot. The pump looked old when I bought my house 10 years ago and I'm not going to burn it up trying to water 1.6 acres.

    Hello Lita and Robert. If your water company is like mine, you'll be paying sewage on the water you put on the yard. A way around that is to have another meter put in. Yes, there are costs, but if you are there for a long time, the savings pay for the meter. Have good days!

    To get the sprinklers to work correctly and be able to have more of them on one zone you need more water pressure. You need to tap a new line off of the main line that comes from the water meter to the house because your house lines are too restrictive. It is pretty cheap to plumb it all with 1” PVC and a manifold with solenoid valves but you need at least 60 PSI to make them perform properly. Your house lines are too small for the volume you need so that is why you need to come straight off the main line with 1” pipe.
    Can buy all the pipe and solenoids for less than $250 for the whole yard and then you can add a sprinkler anywhere you want and have several sprinklers on each zone

    Robert maybe you will rethink how good truck driving after sorting this all out. Grass is never sucessful under tress Robert as you will find out even if you buy one just for shade it is the oil the trees return to the ground. That system you have looks a real winner if you can add as you go and find enough pressure to drive the heads.

  • @paullarkin8536
    @paullarkin8536 3 месяца назад

    Robert... Just a FYI, the spigot creates low volume (Gallons per Minute). If you ran the pipe straight out of the house to you sprinkler system you would find much more volume of water.

      You can also have the city turn your pressure up. Then, straight pipe out the house.

    Water pressure isn’t my problem, according to my water company, but I still have crap pressure when you try to use more than 1 outlet on my house. Almost as bad as my old well system at our old house. I think I have clogged old steel pipes for my main. They say my pressure is good, but I can’t have more than 3 sprinklers in a run.

    You might be better off just stripping off the top layer of your your yard level things up and then come in here and lay some sod or then start receded or something. You’re gonna have to get down there. You probably got plastic all around that yard so you might need to Rototiller Tractor or Rototiller and Rototiller down a couple of inches and just starting all over again you’re fighting a losing battle. It looks like I mean you might want to. It’s expensive but cut it all down. Try to get that grass out of that top layer and chill under or something and then so whatever just start all over.
