  • Hold on! This isn't a brawl, it's a celebration! We're in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan, China, for the vibrant Water Splashing Festival of the Dai people.
It's their New Year! Splashing water symbolizes washing away bad luck and ushering in good fortune. The wetter you get, the more blessings you receive!
Forget weapons, their tools of joy are water guns, buckets, and even hoses! It's a friendly competition to see who gets the most soaked.
If you find yourself in a friendly water fight in mid-April, don't panic! You've just stumbled upon a joyous celebration of good luck and new beginnings!
