About the game
_____________________________________________________
Antiquarian Thomasina Bateman is writing a book on the barrows of England, documenting the treasures she finds buried within. When an intriguing letter summons her to the small village of Bewlay, tucked away in the remote countryside, she sets off by train with her assistant a day behind.
Upon her arrival, however, the mysterious man who summoned her is nowhere to be found. Her assistant never arrives. A stubborn landowner refuses access to the barrow, and the locals are wary of this woman who is traveling alone and (gasp!) wears trousers.
The Excavation of Hob’s Barrow is off to a rocky start. And then Thomasina starts having strange dreams…

Fun fact circles of mushrooms are known as fairies circles
Some fungi grow in expanding circles because they fruit at the edge of their mycorrhizal nexus.
This comment right here. I love learning new things. Thank you!
_Are you the guy from last night? That got lost in the bathroom?_ That brings memories from my youth :-D
"Yes, of course." :D
Since I am from small place - our municipal had and still has population of less than 2000, and almost half of them in biggest village. In games and other fiction, I often wonder how they cannot know other people in the region. I personally never knew very well people, but pretty much everyone around me knew. Maybe not very closely, but pretty much everyone who I knew, seemed to know at least where people live and what family they are part of, and thing or two of their reputation or rumours. If nothing else. (I however was never interested about people or remember their names, or so...). Thing is, what fiction writer often do not realise, that people in small places often have slow phase of life, meaning that they have much more time for social interactions, word plays, and collect massive amount of knowledge about people who they never really stopped to talk with (this is of course completely different from people who live in cities, and who know awful of lot about celebrities who they never stopped to talk with..).
ZenBear: -"old people in small places are often high ranking members of some cult"
Me: "Well... my grandmother is kind of respected religious person of local version of protestant christianity, which is often seen as cult. But mostly that part of the movement which spread from countryside to cities... So....." (PS. I do not share that religion myself, I prefer old gods instead of that nailed man. Although, I admit that nailed man had good ideas in his thoughts.)(PPS. And in my home region, people are not too welcoming for outsiders too. But it is mostly because outsiders are colonialist assholes, who try to force us to live as they told us to do, but do not care our problems or lives)
Do you have a patreon by any chance?
I don't have a Patreon sadly - maybe someday I will when I'll have a more stable schedule so I can provide people with regular updates.
