you should try using the searing flames talent instead of magma chamber. the malestorm you get from searing flames makes it so you can get way more earthquakes out and on the dummies i can have ascendance up for over 2 minutes. i also use aftershock instead of surge of power to be able to get it to last more than 2 minutes

I don't get that much time as it is, I wanna make sure I pick right. They both feel good, but I am noticing that elemental seems to do better damage overall in single target and aoe, especially the icefury build, in myopinion, still the best build for ele. Fire builds are close, but not quite there yet. I will probably go elemental.

Isn’t the flame shock talent to the right of magma chamber better than magma chamber? Not a big deal, but I think the raw 1 maelstrom per tick (1/50 one earthquake)is better than the .8% damage per tick of earthquake from magma chamber . Unless you would overcap.
A few questions i see coming back here wich im also wondering myself , flameshocking outside of liquid magma totem isnt worth it? And we do not MOTE our EQ anymore?
@Naesam oooo starting tomorrow 11/15: Elemental Lightning Rod can now trigger from Lava Beam in addition to Chain Lightning. Not sure how we will get that far down to get the needed lightning rod and ascendance/magma chamber etc
Yeah I don't think you would. You only got 10 points to spend in the last 3 rows, you want 4 in Primordial Wave and 4 in Ascendance, doesn't leave you with enough to reach Lightning Rod - and even then don't think it'd be worth sacrificing Magma Chamber and Magma Totem
I hate that they’re just buffing it without fixing it’s core issues. If you take DRE the proc rate is WAY too low and imo would need to be at least like 12% chance to proc to put you in ascendancy enough to feel fun. Maybe nerf the lava surges that come out and hit all you targets by 50% or something? If you go ascendance then after you setup your initial flame shocks and prim wave you’re letting them fall off cause you’re trying to spam beam and extend as long as possible. Granted it’s fast pace and big dam, which I’m also not going to lie is very fun. But then you’re back to a chain lightning earthquake bot which feels like shit since you have 80% of your talent points into this lava blast/fire build
Have you tried the elemental overload tree instead of ascendance? Atleast the First 2 points since lava overload reduces Primordial as well I thought It would have been a nice build even tho I havent tested It personally
Is there a reason to use Surge of Power over Aftershock? I feel like Aftershock should add more value for extending Ascendance on everything at or below 5 targets. Not even sure about 6+ targets. Stormkeeper into 6 target feels super strong but doesn't that overcap maelstrome?
I'm no expert but if you do the math stormkeeper does like 40% more damage with surge of power (assuming 6 targets) because it scales exponentially which is a massive deal. Also the surge of power provides a ton of single target maelstrom/damage with the extra 2 lightning bolts. And that's with 100% of spender casts, whereas getting resets on aftershock only gives value 25% of the time. Sure aftershock might keep you in ascendance for a bit longer but even in ascendance you can see he's casting lighting bolts with his surges because its just that good to get the bonus overloads. Finally, he's getting stacks of bonus damage from his flame shock talent. casting spenders less often leans harder into that talent to allow it to get higher stacks before spending. I could be wrong though maybe its still just as good to roll aftershock. But that's my take on the choice there

Also on ST with alot I'd haste and aftershock procs I've been able to extend ascend to last entire boss fights. Longest duration I got too was around 50 sec

I can definitely see a world where aftershock is better. I've just been having way too much success with surge as of late to just write it off completely for all inning on your asendance window.
Hello! One question ❓ I did divide those 687 lava beam hits threw 129 casts and it is above 5 hits per cast but wowhead tooltip saying it hits 3 targets. How many targets does Lava beam hits?

im not sure how it works in a key. maybe you dont need ascendance up for 2 minutes but maybe in high keys it will be the move
I'm between elemental and boomkin! Which would you suggest? I'm quite shocked by the boomkins damage as i've been hearing they're not so great..

He only has Ascendance. The WeakAura just resets its animation each time he uses EQ/ES to extend Ascendance

I think the increase from magma chamber got doubled, not in the patch notes but I remember people talking about it.
