This happened almost exactly to me. A guy was playing a Branded deck, and I had Shaddoll, I popped Maxx C, and he just kept on playing into it. I think he was trying to make me deck out, because he brought out multiple powerhouse monsters, twice, then dumped them. The whole time I was Ashing, and effect veiling key cards. My first turn came up, and Infinited him, El Shaddoll Construct, and I think Invoked Mechaba. He quit before I even attacked.
the power of friendship, also known as throwing because you feel bad for your friend. that's the real secret to every Yugioh anime its not that the protagonist is good its that all the "villains" feel bad for them and set up elaborate plans to make them feel better about themselves.
