Thanks for another great upload! It would be interesting to know what the guys who were working that night in 1984 are up to nhow. It was nice hearing an older dispatcher. I was able to listen to DFD around this time with my grandfather’s scanner.
1984 was the worst year for Devil's Night arson as the Detroit Fire Department responded to over eight-hundred calls. I have watched the 1995 Devil's Night anti-arson campaign P.S.A and learned about the seven key components of the 1995 anti-arson campaign. The seven components of the campaign are as follows: 1.) Adopt A House Program. 2.) Neighborhood Patrol. 3.) Logistical Support. 4.) Porch Light Program. 5.) Eyes and Ears. 6.) Youth Component. 7.) Orange Ribbon Campaign.
@@jeffk7734 They might have been pretty bad; but 1984 is still viewed as the worst year for Devil's Night arson in Detroit. Nowadays; there is a genuine amount of fear and concern that the 4th of July weekend will become the new Devil's Night for the residents of Detroit.
Listening to emergency services radio traffic from Devil's Night 1984 in Detroit gave me chills I had not felt since I listened to the emergency services radio traffic from the EF5 tornado that hit Joplin, Missouri on May 22, 2011.
@@michaellovely6601 Devil's Night 1984 was Hell on Earth as the Detroit Fire Department responded to over eight-hundred calls during the Devil's Night period.
@@JBBost Oh I know this all too well. Now there's the possibility that the 4th of July holiday is possibly going to become the new Devil's Night for Detroit.
I heard 1984 was the WORST year for Devil's Night in Detroit. My sis lived in Detroit at that time and even though her area never got hit hard on Devil's Night even she said 84 was BAD!
I lived in Grosse Pointe Farms in 1984 on Moross, and remember the neighborhoods just inside the city of Detroit were actually pretty safe as the people who lived in those neighborhoods were mainly city of Detroit workers, mostly police and fire whose contracts stipulated they live in the city. I still wonder about those guys that night, and the dispatcher and what they are up to now? Does anyone know of anyone who was working that night? Detroit Po;ice and Fire Departments have always had really good dispatchers.

Michael Lovely I heard that 1985 and 1986 were pretty bad too. It’s a wonder how that fire dispatcher had any voice left when he got off of work.
