I also apperiacte that you acknowledge your own bias right of the bat. Thank you for taking the time to make this even though you're a little sick.
This has been my go to adrenaline game. I watched it on RUclips when it was only available on pc then when it came to Xbox got it right away. I had an auric damnation maelstrom mission the other day that lasted over an hour. I was actually exhausted after and it was awesome. The servers can suck at times and crash at horrible times but it’s not broken or unplayable at all, I hope this game gets as much support vermintide 2 got. Lots of potential.
I'm someone who's bought this game during the summer sale and as someone moderately familiar with 40k going in, this game is some serious fun, at least for the 25 hours I've put in (furthest char is veteran lvl16). The cash shop doesn't seem as egregious as many games given how cheap Aquilas are (I bought the vox caster and commissar cap for my veteran for ~$12, all the better to shout with) also "if you see what's on the screen now and it excites you. it gets like the neurons firing, you have neuron activation from seeing me stabbing these people and shooting these people" don't worry they're not people they're heretics Balance-wise, I only have experience with veteran and psyker but psyker with shards seems pretty strong on the difficulties I've been playing at (almost entirely 1 and 2) I had no Idea that penances are new, but they really add a lot to the game, they've been instrumental in sort of guiding my play. For player count, at least on the lower levels, I've played about 50-50 with friends and with randoms, and when I queue for quickplay I get a match within a minute no matter the time of day or night. for me the most fun I've had is a shouty veteran with the first boltgun and chainsword models available. though sneaking veteran with a shotgun and shard psyker are close seconds. Great video, it really lays out how this game is in a far more comprehensive way than the steam reviews.
There has been speculation about tech priest as a 5th class, they could even have her with servitor drones, since they have a class with ai companions in Vermintide 2 now
