Good morning Michael, I really didn't think your videos could get any better but they just keep getting more and more fun & interesting on so many levels. As an older Vancouverite I might be biased but from the comments I read you are loved globally. Keep living your best life and thank you for taking me with you ❤
I hope you keep this gig going.... you should find unique places and give people a vacation and get the exclusive filming rights while their gone. I love the house coat on the seawall
Got myself a Pantavus Trench! We are moving to Vancouver from Ontario so I was looking for a good rain jacket. Love the style and practicality. Glad I woke up this morning to check for one of your videos!
I miss my old neighborhood. I used to commute by foot through Stanley Park, over the Lions Gate Bridge to my job at Park Royal. I wish they would eliminate the horse and buggy in the park (for the horses sake) especially in the heat of the summer.
Just ordered my jacket! Thanks for the discount code. I’ve been looking for a rain jacket for a long time. And having one that is made in Vancouver? Awesome! I’m excited to try it soon :)
Week after week your videos keep getting better and better. I don't know where you're going, but I want to be there with you (so I can enjoy these wonderful videos). Keep on keeping on.
I don't know if someone already told you, but soda bottles are typically dated on the bottom with raised numbers of the year of manufacture. I was just recently made aware of your channel and have been binge watching. You're impressive and quite interesting. Thank you for sharing.
My brother got married in the park and he had the reception at the teahouse (2019)... it was wonderful Hehe He got married right next to the teahouse where you showed yourself after you came out of it with a small group of 13 people present including the bride groom and officiant.
Another great video Mike! I've eaten at both those restaurants......many years ago. Love how you donned your housecoat and with coffee in hand walked over to the seawall! I can tell you are having a blast living in Stanley Park! Thanks for sharing all that you do because I love tagging along every Saturday morning!
Strolling out in your dressing gown drinking coffee whilst the sun comes up. THAT is what living in Stanley Park is really like. Really enjoy your vids. Thanks
I do believe your experiences from unexpected delays on train rides helped your enjoyment behind the horse and carriage. Nice to stay positive in all circumstances.
Awesome video! I've been in Surrey for 11 years and I haven't explored Stanley Park yet. I don't want to wait for my 5-month old kid to turn 11 before doing so! Thanks for the preview of what to expect, Mike!
Merci de nouveau. Another great look at what Mike's up to. The fire risk looks very high with all of that grass browning out for lack of rain - but it's summer and those of us from the Pacific Coast are used to that.
Very cool again Mike! I am so enjoying all the stuff you share with us. It is such a privilege for you to be living there for now. I had to go into St. Paul’s Hospital for the next week so reading your blog brought a little brightness to a crappy day.
Awesome vid Mike, as always! Did miss your "I don't know where I'm going next ..." sign off though. Watching your experiences helps get my travel fix from here in Auckland, New Zealand while the world is grounded. Stanley Park is a gem, so can't wait to visit Vancouver again when things open up!
It's nice to know that the Stanley Tea Houses still is around. Over the years, when my spouse n I visit Vancouver, we try to have tea at one of them. "WE" live here?? Who's with you, Mike?
My bestie and I went there for afternoon late lunch last year during covid height and was pleasantly surprised by the elegance of the service, the feeling of complete comfort with the health&safety measures plus the excellent food. I can't wait to go back now.
The restaurants in Stanley Park both looked great, something we don't have here in Golden Gate Park. Stanley Park is so green, I'm surprised it has a fire danger. Nice touch of Grieg with your morning coffee.
This summer in Vancouver (and a lot of the province) has been exceptionally hot and dry. We don't usually have closures of the park due to fire risk, but the city has been very dry (thankfully the rains have now returned).
Discovered your channel last week. Love your content, ignites the desire for adventures and travel! Although, I am nervous to head out for a solo trip, I will settle for your videos for now. Please continue to create awesome content ♥️
Good to see folks out digging up invasive species! It's a lot of work. I go help out occasionally with different groups here around Toronto. We have to be so careful with what we're putting in our gardens! Nice housecoat btw 😉
Mike that is one fine spot to live for a month. Not sure about the winter but it indeed a beautiful spot. One more for my Vancouver list. Oh yes I would go for the lamb too.
Fun story, a few decades ago my mother was celebrating a friend's dinner at the Teahouse, and they met Jean Chretien! Great video btw. Super cool that you're repping the SPES.
I love the totems there. Before our cruise, we didn't get to check out much of the park in 2016, so I'm now tempted to go see more if I can get back up there.
Hi Mike! Thanks for the Pantavus discount code. I just ordered an All Purpose Trench and will be returning another I bought and haven't worn yet. Much better qualtiy - a technical jacket for essentially the same price. Can't wait for it to arrive.
Fantastic episode Mike! Thoroughly enjoy your videos and your narrative about everything. It’s been so cool seeing and learning about Stanley Park. I hope when I ever get there again I’ll certainly look at it all differently and enjoy it more. Thanks as always for sharing your videos. Peace and Calm. 👍🏻😎🇨🇦
My wife and I got married at Ferguson Point almost one year ago on August 23, 2020. We had dinner at the Tea House, one of the best dinners I’ve ever had. Also, my great grandma used to run the officer’s mess that was there. Awesome to see you showcase them!
Michael your videos are wonderful, entertaining, and very warming! I wish to travel soon to Canada 😭 I hope you’re having an amazing day and please stay safe! ✨
What a great video.....Well there is always a sudden feeling when we see some of your videos,It took my breath away!!!! It must be my extreme good luck to have got a chance to see such a beautiful video. Thanks once again guys!!!
Love your channel, just started binge watching your videos from Edmonton. I felt like i was there as well when watching your videos, informative and entertaining…
So I am enjoying my morning “jo in Penticton. We moved here from our apartment in Coal Harbor. We wanted to retire to a house and garden. I walked that sea wall every week ….I quit riding as we had trouble keeping pedestrians off the bike paths. Good luck with the new one. You just made me homesick ! 😁😁👍👍
Oh Man, I absolutely loved this one! I've been learning a lot about vancouver, man. Thank you so much for the content you create. I'm gonna go to Stanley park to explore some of the places I've seen here 🙌
So cool you got to spend the month in Stanley Park. And I always enjoy the 9 O'Clock gun....especially if there are those around not expecting it to go BOOM. LOL
I knew I had eaten at a very nice restaurant in the park. It was this time of year in 1986 and friends in the city took us to the Teahouse. Thanks so much for taking us there and letting me know that my memory served me well and it was indeed this one. I'm really enjoying your stay in the Park. What a great opportunity for you...... and for us. (Apparently the fire risk in western US extends into Canada).
@@nadogrl We flew into Seattle from Cincinnati. Joined a friend from Portland and then drove to Vancouver. Attended Expo and were wined and dined around Vancouver. We love that beautiful city and had the most wonderful time.
That opening scene with you carrying your coffee carafe to the beach in your robe summed it up!!! If you start your morning like that, you KNOW it's going to be a great day :)
I love your expression when you found that they were redoing the traffic flow in the park. Can you imagine what David and Normande's reaction will be? Another interesting video.
You sure to travel a lot!I really miss traveling but watching your videos makes me feel like I am traveling! One request-Could you try to cover Flight Trips Reports as well?
Omg,, I really, really loves all ur adventures,, I'm a person loves nature, those mountains, waterfalls, etc, also this is the beautiful site n park ever, I'm totally overwhelmed,, this world is gorgeous,
Someone may have mentioned this, but you showed the polar bear exhibit in this episode. When I saw it, I knew it looked familiar and I was pretty sure I knew from where. Most of the show Psych, while set in Santa Barbara, was actually filmed in Vancouver. The episode "Dead Bear Walking" had many scenes filmed right there at the polar bear exhibit in Stanley Park! I'm calling this a cross over episode!
this would have been a good time for you to do another hometown video since you'll be there for a month. Love your videos! can wait for more and see where you end up next ;)
thanks Micheal this was great, hoping to be in Vancouver next year(if i can leave Australia) looks like i can spend a whole day at Stanley Park. Adding this to my itinerary.
Man oh man Awesome vid as always. To spend a day in nature and helping nature there is nothing better. And Stanley park well the most beautiful park in the world for me. To live there would be môre then a dream. U make my day everytime a new Downie vid comes out thanx again Mike u are a super awesome person. Stay safe 😁👍🏻🇨🇦
YES!! MIKE LIVING LARGE! I can see you living there permanently. Hey Mike if you do any more PR for Vancouver they will have to make you Mayor. Great video as usual! 👍👍👍👍
I used to be a background actor on movies and I remember being at the Stanley Park Pavilion in the heat in a suit and almost passing out haha that's all I can think about when I see that place
Great positive video. I am feeling sad about the mismanagement of the Park. I'm unable to walk more than 1 block. So glad to see your positive happy vibe. Makes me confident the above issues will be resolved after the next election
Great video Michael. You are the best House sitter we have ever had.
Thanks David! I took it as an honour to stay there and tried to have the full experience as best I could.
The 7Up bottle is a collectors item. It been laying there for probably at least 50 years.
...and you handle a right-hand drive car like a pro!!! Hope you kept that 7-Up bottle.. Great video. Thanks Mike!!

Michael thought you would be bored house sitting but you do a good job of looking outside the box with your creativity and entertaining us. Thanks
I appreciate that!

Really enjoy your vids. Thanks
Right?!! Thanks Andy!
Mike is seriously high on life and never fails to put a smile on my face. great video dude !
I do believe your experiences from unexpected delays on train rides helped your enjoyment behind the horse and carriage. Nice to stay positive in all circumstances.
I live downtown Vancouver and love that I always learn something new with your videos. Just awesome.
Awesome! Thank you!
can't wait to come back again. Vancouver was such a great experience as a solo traveller.
Sunshine sunlight...The bright morning has begun at Stanley Park...making my heart blow away...💖

The fire crews have doused at least one over night fire so far. Next to the wind storm, fire in Stanley Park is my biggest nightmare.
Very cool again Mike! I am so enjoying all the stuff you share with us. It is such a privilege for you to be living there for now. I had to go into St. Paul’s Hospital for the next week so reading your blog brought a little brightness to a crappy day.
I am so looking forward to this week. Thank you. Thank you SPES. I learn something new every episode.
I Love the woodlands and urban areas of Vancouver, hope to visit someday just to chillout
My boyfriend and I went and stayed in the rail car room in Cranbrook because of you! Just thought I would share that haha
Awesome insight of what goes behind the scenes. We wish to visit Stanley Park one day! When we do, we can appreciate it even more now! Thank you

Fabulous video. You’ve taken a great opportunity & gifted the rest of us as well. Thanks so much!

This summer was very hot , but Vancouver normally gets a lot of rain in the colder months compared to San Francisco .
also there were lot of deadly heat wave this year
I’m in Vancouver rn for a trip. And so far it’s been so fun!
Very cool. Great support for the ecological society. Beautiful venues for the restaurants in the park.
It really is!

Don’t be nervous. Thousands of people travel solo. There are numerous FB groups, (and lots are women). It’s fantastic!
@@nadogrl Thank you so much for the encouragement! ♥️
I know you are right, it’s something I’ll have to overcome 😊
Whoaa, I wanna go visit that old Polar Bear exhibit, such a small detail of Stanley Park that is so cool!
Amazing and thanks for constant and uplifting soothing shots and updates for an expat Vancouverite here. Lucky guy you
Good to see folks out digging up invasive species! It's a lot of work. I go help out occasionally with different groups here around Toronto. We have to be so careful with what we're putting in our gardens!

Enjoyed the info on what’s in Stanley Park restaurant etc…am a little jealous of all the fun in living in the park…love the 9 o’clock gun show !!!
Another great video. Thank you for all we saw today. Glad you enjoyed the Tea House. It is a lovely place.
I love the totems there. Before our cruise, we didn't get to check out much of the park in 2016, so I'm now tempted to go see more if I can get back up there.
Nice to see the work of the Stanley Park Ecological Society featured! I like the bat houses.
Hi Mike! Thanks for the Pantavus discount code. I just ordered an All Purpose Trench and will be returning another I bought and haven't worn yet. Much better qualtiy - a technical jacket for essentially the same price. Can't wait for it to arrive.

The twirl of the keys and blow on them like a smoking barrel made me laugh out loud. The coolest bathroom locking in Stanley Park!

Awesome video Michael
Another great video Michael!!! I love how your videos not only entertain, they educate as well. I am always learning something new.
That's the plan, Ron. Education disguised as entertainment 😉
also middle of the night, it's actually Park Board who installed the bike lanes as studied and planed for by the Van Park Board.
Sunset sunrise...just being my guide...let's keep going together...💖
Awesome! I used to be a landscaper and would love to volunteer at SPES, thanks for sharing 😀
As always great video. I had friends who were the caretakers at Cates park for years in the 90's, what an interesting perspective of Stanley Park.
Great video Mike ! 🤓✌🏽 Stanley park is so big and it’s amazing how much stuff to experience in the park and I learn all that from you Mike 😎😉
It’s such an interesting place. Glad you appreciate it, Kristian!

I love your expression when you found that they were redoing the traffic flow in the park. Can you imagine what David and Normande's reaction will be? Another interesting video.
😂😂 Good point! I hadn't even thought of that. We'll see what they think.
Just got my jacket. Thanks for the discount!!! Can't believe that it still worked.

Holy smokes. I left Vancouver two years ago. Stanley Park is what I miss the most, but it seems like the city's going out of their way to kill it.
