As we and RUclips are unable to fix it, we decided to re-upload the video so that everyone can once again enjoy the tour of this beautiful chateau!!
Julia's dream chateau came up for sale during the pandemic, but she couldn't travel from America to see it in person! So she asked me to tour it for her, and to send her a video. I put together a chateau-hunting dream team, and went with Philip (the Sherlock Holmes of architectural details) and Davy (garden designer and great problem spotter & solver) to visit the Renaissance Chateau de Puyvidal.
This is an edited version of the video that we sent to Julia, which led to her and her family putting in an offer the very next day!

Whew, thought I'd lost my marbles (again)
I'm watching this again after 2 years. This chateau is my favourite out of all vlogers' chateaux.
Thinking of the previous owners: how could one live to an ordinary house after living in this chateau?! What a masterpiece.
Maybe they’re moving to another masterpiece elsewhere.
Lack of money ? Deceased ? Lots of reasons.
Retiring and downsizing maybe
I believe near the beginning there is some reference to the previous owners health in their senior age
As we age our priorities tend to change. To me who am only 65, this does not look one bit comfortable going by all those stairs without a single elevator in sight. Also I would probably not like to pay all the money to keep it warm in winter. When they built these affairs they had other priorities in mind which we have superseded and elaborated upon. For the money that this would cost to ameliorate and renovate extensive parts of it, I have seen far more welcoming and beautifully decorated chateaux in comparison. Where is my full size billiard room here? Where is the awesome office? Where is the ballroom? Where are the staff's quarters? Where are the stables? Also, being more than average tall, my head would get more than a bang forgetting to lower it every time I would have to go from one room to the next. Most of it actually makes me feel claustrophobic. I wouldn't wish to live there for free let alone. And that's now when I am still physically independent to a large degree.
THIS PLACE IS THE BEST KEPT AND DECORATED AND LOVED. I'M SO HAPPY THE NEW OWNERS ARE GOING TO LOVE IT TO PIECES TOO!!! THEY'RE VERY LUCKY, LUCKY LUCKY. *I SEND MANY BLESSINGS OF HAPPINESS!!!*

I don’t think I’d even change the bathrooms, except for the one with the tiny mosaic tiles. It’s all stunning.
So beautiful! The library is a dream, like being hugged by books. The gem of a cabinet for porcelain is beyond words. The whole chateau is exceptional. There could be no better tour guide!

Most of us that are vaccinated by these gorgeous Chateau have anxiously been waiting for this particular video. We knew that Stephanie, Phillip & Davey had surveyed the property for the potential buyer and then they bought it sight unseen with the exception of this video tour. Knowing that made us aware that it was an exceptional find. We were thankful that the sellers permitted the public viewing of this magnificent property tour. We are planning on purchasing a Chateau as well and these videos help us getting a better understanding of what it is that’s important to us (& what’s not). It’s clear that this one is a rare find, the details, the condition and gardens are magnificent. Can’t wait for part 2. Thank you Stephanie & Phillip!

If you are looking for Chateau in the similar price range, my advise would be to look for something newer from mid to late 19 century. May be as old as 18C, but not the medieval Castle made to look like a Chateau. The interiors are not really well made or period 17- 19C these are all modern installations from early 20 to post WWII. Compared to real 18/19C interiors and Chateau architecture this XXXL remnants of a castle have little attraction.

Even as a child I was intrigued by castles and chateaus and always wanted to live in one.This was amazing and so well kept and in great condition and wonderfully decorated and restored. It would cost a fortune to upkeep the garden and the house but if I had a fortune I would love to have this amazing place❤️

Boy, now I have to say, this chateau had just about everything going for it. Really fine shape for the age. Did see a few cracks in the stone that can be fixed. It had really held together well for so many years. These places take work and a lot of love. I really enjoyed the tour. Thank you.

What an amazing Chateau! As an American I can't even fathom a home this old and in such beautiful condition! I think my heart belongs to La Lande ( I especially love the grounds; so natural & uncontrived ( beautifully serene & peaceful) I'm not so into the French gardening style ( like Versailles although I can appreciate it ) but this place was so well maintained & beautiflly decorated I'm going to have to give it a second watch.
So beautiful!! I will only ever be able to imagine walking through such a beautiful place in my dreams, it must have been so wonderful to see in real life!!

She probably means the end of the video where we could see her retake the same thing a few times, I kind of liked it though. I can see it's been fixed now so it must be it.
I'm in awe! why would someone sold something like this? so much love put into this place. I'm sad for the previous owners: I wish it had stayed in the family. I wish the new owners all the best and hope they are up to the chateau and not change everything there is.

I get lost easily though, and was thinking that I could get lost with all the stairs and just walk around forever! lol. But it would be enjoyable and would not mind being lost at all, as long as sooner or later I found the kitchen, and my own bedroom when it was time. That would be fine. Sooner or later I would find a way to walk outside am sure if I just kept moving. The basement although nice would be a place I would not want to be lost in the tunnel and would be a "definitely not to be left alone" though. At * Beardsley's Castle" in my area, they call that the 'Dungeon' instead. Although part of it is now a bar area. They have weddings and it is a Restaurant on the upper two floors.
This is truly a castle/Chateau! All the secret passages and it is just absolutely someone's dream come true! Oh yes, that is Julie's and her partners! They are blessed. May they do well and enjoy it for a long time!

La Lande is beautiful but this place is on an all together different level, it’s unbelievable! I almost choked when I saw the stone staircase. 🤯

The would think the most important thing should be the state/health of the building’s windows, roof, walls and so on?
The decor, colours, chandelier is something secondary.

@@rinohorizonte honestly for a fully furnished home with that property that's pretty affordable. I live in CA and routinely see what 2.8-3 million looks like.
@@lilgrannyari You're right . There's NOT sheetrock NO Plastic NO fake wood in these kind of chateaux or castles. But maintenence, repairs, gardening and taxes are a nightmare.
@@rinohorizonte my brand new home was .5 million and its made with ticky tacky and has miniscule backyard with no landscaping 😑 also our taxes here aren't pretty. I'd love to move to Northern Italy, actually!

How wonderful,everyone is buying a chateau today
When the chateau was sold, did all the furniture and decors come with it? Or did the owners take some of the stuff with them when they moved? They have some beautiful things like the tapestries.
Everything stays but a few personal items
