Superb set of shots Steve and The Marquess handled the load as we would have expected. The weather looked typical for your short trip over the border damp and grey. Thanks for sharing...................Regards Phil.
Excellent video Steve! Nice choice of locations and great to see Driver Peter Walker putting on a great show for you. The K4 has performed superbly this year and certainly a nice choice for Day 1. You was lucky with the 185 that it wasn't earlier and ruin the shot, but this is the chance we take on railway photography! Thanks for Sharing!
A wonderful performance from 61994 well captured Steve. The pick of the bunch is Salterwath for me with the cameo from the horse and that admittedly superb Gresley performance.
Fantastic video Steve,Shame about the murky conditions. That was a superb shot and location at Salterwath. It looked well with the K4 coming from behind the hill.(C&A)
Fantastic video footage of 'The Great Marquess' Stephen. Nice minor parts played by the horse and 185 TPEX unit. Very enjoyable as always. Hopefully I can see the return.
Thanks both , Salterwath does work well and the mist cleared enough plus that fantastic horse made the shot in my eyes . Did a few miles again but well worth it . Steve
Brilliant Steve - you must have been dashing about even more than 61944! We were stationed t'other side of the line also watching horse! . . . . . . Alan
Just had to start my catch up of videos I've missed with this one Steve, your usual excellent fine coverage of the day made for very enjoyable viewing. Wonderful performance as we have come to expect from the Marquess. I thought the horse at Salterwath was taking it all in its stride but then the sound of the K4 got too much for it!
That's been a very useful engine this year, hasn't it. Putting up a fine show; nice of the old horse at Shap to perform for the camera too. Lucky the 185 didn't come along a moment earlier too.
Thanks Phil , thought the third shot would see her working but I had to zoom in to lose one of the masts .The weather closed in about five mins before though ! Thanks for the battery . Regards Steve
Great coverage of Day 1 Steve. Thought the pony on Shap was going to stick it out - it must have heard the southbound unit coming! Luckily the unit didn't spoil your shot. Great performance by loco, crew and your goodself. Wasn't it horrible on the climb to Beattock Summit? Chris
Great footage Steve with the K4 very much showing how the ascent of Shap and Beattock should be done. I must say, the headboard is a little misleading...Graham
Great way to spend a few minutes a lunch. Very interesting to see how you are developing your filming techniques.... you got really pleasing shots and there are no second chances. The K4s are gutsy hill climbers for such a small engine. Amazing to think that they were pretty well displaced in the West Highlands by the late 1940s when more powerful engines were available. They still look good today....…☁☁☁⁘⁙☁☁⁙..☁……Hᴜɢʜ….Lɪᴋᴇᴅ…..ツ
Great shots! Showing blending of countryside with steel and steam, horse and iron horse!
Awesome video! Nice steam locomotive! Wonderful train and good filming places! Greetings from Romania! Thumbs up!
really cracking piece of video that one Steve ~ most enjoyable thanks for sharing !!

Thanks again for a great series of views of this loco performing well.
Very enjoyable, Steve. The K4 putting in a great performance. I too thought the horse was going to stick it out and had seen it all before. Keith

Lovely video, she certainly was working hard! I like how the horse stood staring at it first then as it got level it ran off haha!

My pleasure Dave , the K4 has been a star performer again this year after the Fellsman's of 2012 .
Thanks for the kind comment . Glad you enjoyed the action.
Thanks Ryan, the horse made the shot like you say and I thought it was not going to bolt until the last second. Regards Steve
Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment as its much appreciated . Regards Steve
Thank you David , I thought the horse would have run away a lot earlier to be honest . Regards Steve
Thanks Austin, thought you would enjoy this video as I know you do like the Marquess . Steve
Thanks Graham, the K4 did well with a very light load and greasy wet rails . Steve
Thanks Mike, GM made that look easy I agree and it sounded well that's for sure. Steve
Thanks Alan , the pathing stops made for a few decent shots and I could have had a final one after Abington but called it a day .
Thanks for the kind comment and it did look good I must admit at 2-28 . Regards Steve
Thanks Phil , thought the third shot would see her working but I had to zoom in to lose one of the masts .The weather closed in about five mins before though !

Thanks Keith , the horse was the star even if the K4 was going great guns I thought !

Pure magic and hasn't the old girl got a bark.
