    The Pomegranate pen you're referring to is actually called the Benu Euphoria Armenian Pomegranate Wine, and was specifically designed as a tribute to Armenia, which is where Benu moved their production to during the war. Armenian Pomegranate Wine, not Pomegranate. It's important to mention that specially for this particular pen.

    • @sevanh3335
      @sevanh3335 2 года назад +4

      "This limited-edition design serves as a tribute to Armenia, the picturesque country that warmly welcomed BENU when they needed a new home. A special pen, the Armenian Pomegranate Wine, is named after one of the most recognizable national symbols in Armenia, the pomegranate. This round, red fruit represents abundance, fertility, and life itself. It also represents the Armenian Diaspora - the spread of Armenian people to different countries - scattered all over the world as pomegranate seeds, yet united in their traditions, mutual support, and rich heritage. Boasting the same intense red shade as the fragrant, delicious wine it is named after, the Armenian Pomegranate Wine fountain pen is intoxicatingly striking."

    Kerry got so excited she started to sound like a Lily Tomlin routine. I share her enthusiasm for Benu pens, and have ordered the Venus's Hair like a duck on a June-bug because it is a LE, and I didn't want it to sell out before could get one. My Pomegranate LE is 114/300. [Update]: The Venus's Hair arrived within 3 days after I ordered it. It is a beautiful pen and writes as I have become accustomed to Benus writing. IF the Venus's Hair is a limited edition, it has NO production numbers on the barrel or cap. Both the "Hair" and the Pomegranate came with both a cartridge and a converter.

Strangely I have also become obsessed with glitter in my watercolour. I really think it’s a deep need for more joy and light. They world is a heavy place right now. Why not bring some sparkles in?

    you just convinced me.. and I had to gift myself a Christmas present of not one but two of the Benu fountain pens... both of them in a broad nib... and both Euphoria.. I ordered the Bourbon and the Bora Bora... can't wait..!! I was considering the Twsbi Iris.. but instead went for the big bucks.. I love "plastic" pens and these just appeared special... I love my "cheapo" Jinhao X159 (don't like the regular 159 as much because they are too heavy.. I had considered some of the prettier Sailor pens in pale colors, but something about the nibs did not appeal to me.. even the medium seemed too fine.. and I guess I just lean towards a chunkier pen because I mostly do artwork. Just starting down that fountain pen rabbit hole.. so made a leap from Jinhao to a pricier fountain pen.. I felt this price range was kind of a happy medium from expensive, but not TOO expensive, but quality... I think this was the way to go..

    I love the sparkly, but my biggest priority in pens is I want it to work right out of the box. I do not think this should be the huge ask that it apparently is. Tinkering should be optional. So when I heard how well Benu worked from just EVERYBODY, I knew I had found my best pen. Sparkly AND built properly? And so now I have a briolette that glows in the dark and I use it every day. It's such a pleasure. So I'm right there with you.

    At the beginning Benu was way to glitzy/flashy for me but then they started the Chameleon series (with the colour flipping effect) and there are some models that don't burn your eyes out. I have two of them (apparently they aren't produced anymore). The nibs are very nice writers and the pens feel very comfortably in the hand despite their odd looks. I'm still thinking about buying a Hexagon or a Talisman.

    glad you are enjoying and wishing you more inky fun
    i have 2 benus not of my own choosing but through truphae's inkredible boxes. I want to like them more than I do, but I can't get there. my briolette is too small and too faceted for my fat fingers, and too green in the luminous jade finish. my hexagon is much more comfortable, but in the yuletide finish is also too green and - in almost oxymoronic fashion to benu - much more basic than I would have liked. maybe if I could grow up and make a decision for myself like the bourbon or the venus hair, I would like them better. while the #5 nibs are juicy (although a bit scratchy on one - maybe needs a tuning) I would probably appreciate a #6 much more.

    My story is just like yours, although I only have one Benu so far. I thought they were way overpriced for a Schmidt nib and a bunch of sparkles, but I was so wrong! My Euphoria with broad nib is a glassy smooth writer with perfect ink flow.

    What's the sixth you have coming? I got a euphoria in Autumn forest in broad a month and a bit ago and it is great. I have found my cap is no longer fully in line with my body which seems to be a bit of an issue. I see them as quite inexpensive for resin pens as if you compare them to leonardos or esterbrooks (at least in the uk) they work out at quite a bit cheaper. Thanks for the video, it was great as always!

I’m assuming they will come out with a stunning Christmas edition as well?! The ONLY gripe I have with Benu is the trimmings, I so badly wish that they would use GOLD TRIMMINGS on their warmer color palette pens such as the Venus Hair and Vodka on the Rocks. That’s what has kept me from buying those particular pens. Hopefully they will have that option in near future! 🤞🏼🤞🏼

I wonder if the European buyers who got a Benu without a converter bought a Minima, which comes without a converter because it's too small for standard converters (which is the one thing that has stopped me from buying one so far, but I'll probably get one eventually because I like small pens).

    I have three Benu, but received an offer I can't refire for two of them. The only one I;m keeping it the Talisman Dragon's Blood with a green background.
    The nibs are very good, but they're just steel nibs. They're smooth, and have good flow, but so do an infinite number of pens. The attraction is the uniqueness of the bodies. I think many of them are just ridiculous looking, something teenage girls would buy, but some are pretty, if not something I'd ever take out of the hourse. Very few are pens most men would carry, or even own.
    To be honest, I think they're a lot like Chinese pens at thirty times the price. I can understand owning one or two. Maybe even three, but they really are just steel nobs that are no smoother than any other steel nibs, and the garishness of the bodies is extremely cheap material. There is no reason they should cost what they do, and in Russia, at least, they cost almost nothing to manufacture. I assume cost of manufacture may be higher since they left Russia, but it's still pretty low.
    I do understand why some are attracted to these pens, but after owning three and seeing/using several others, my enthusiasm has waned, especially since they cost enough to buy a gold pen individually, let alone if you buy several of them.
