There’s an iconic photo where Jim Carey was dressed up as The Grinch and Eddie Murphy dressed up as Professor Klump cause apparently they were filming on the same studio lot so goes to show you how much greatness in filmography was coming out during those times I love this film and it really shows Eddie’s versatility as an actor being funny playing multiple roles within the movie, being serious and then being emotional as well very Iconic film I enjoy it till this day!🙌🏽🎬🍿✨💯
Eddie actually spent a few days in public with the fat suit on to get people's reactions and he said it changed his outlook on how big people were treated. He drew off of that during the scene at the comedy club, you could see it in his eyes.

The fitness show that kept coming on Shermans tv was a parody of the fitness guru Richard Simmons. He was very popular in the 90s. He was a little hyper and high strung lol. That is also Eddie Murphy playing him.

Oh, forgot about this one. MJ, you would love #Boomerang It stars Eddie Murphy, Halle Berry, Robin Givens, Martin Lawrence with appearances from Eartha Kitt (legendary actress), Grace Jones (supermodel) and a very young Chris Rock.
After a dismal start to the 90’s for Eddie, this movie and role was a return to form for him. Eddie was burning on all cylinders with this one, and his follow-up film Metro is a highly underrated action thriller. Hopefully you get a chance to check that one out. Yes, Jada was in this one. This movie along with Set It Off, made 96’ a successful year for her. I really wished she would have been in the sequel. No disrespect to Janet, but I would have liked to have seen the relationship between Carla and Sherman fully realized. This is also a remake of the 1963’ film of the same name. Although the premise is slightly different, the plot is about the same. Jerry Lewis, the star of the original, wanted to make a sequel for decades but settled for the remake instead.
I still don’t understand why Jada didn’t return in the sequel. Apparently it was because she was pregnant with Jaden. Having Sherman with a new love interest in the sequel (Janet) ruined the whole message of the first film. So yeah I agree. I would have also have liked to see the relationship of Carla and Sherman fully realised.
43:42 The one thing that sucks about getting old is how movie scenes such as this can make a person cry. When Sherman made that speech he was convinced that he ruined his life and tbat he would not be forgiven by the people his alter ego caused harm.. As he was leaving the ball room in absolute remorse....my eyes watered down like a water dam.
I also felt bad for Sherman, like he started out his research out of pure intentions to help people, but became more selfish and desperate like he said, and it seemed that he enjoyed being Buddy because as buddy he was more confident and liked by everyone and probably even thought about being that way permanently because all he ever wanted was to have people notice him. But a silver lining is like said, in a way, Buddy did teach Sherman to be more confident and just be himself so in a way, it was a win
I feel the first one is more classical than the second one. The second one had some moments especially when Sherman and Dean Richmond track Buddy Love and Sherman losing his intelligence. That was a very sad moment but luckily Denise tear wet the spot Buddy’s Liquid died at on the fountain, and he was apart of the water and Sherman could drink it to get it back 💯
Beverly Hills Cop definitely most iconic Eddie Murphy character and Mr. Robinsons Neighborhood🤣.That's back when SNL was good💯😎. Good show there ma'am. Keep up the terrific work 👌 👏 👍 😀
He also plays multiple roles in another wacky comedy fave of mine, "Bowfinger". In that, he's both the super successful (and TOTALLY CRAZY) star actor, and the totally dorky assistant who keeps haplessly getting sent to get coffee and such. He's really funny in both of them. Also the catchphrase line he's supposed to yell at the "aliens" to get them to go away in the fake-movie's climax, is "I'm gonna get you sucka!!" so that's fun. :)
Time to watch The Nutty Professor II. There is a surprise in casting if no one hasn't brought it up yet. Hint: Its from my Jam and Lewis comment on your New Edition reaction. 😃
Eddie eas a huge student of old movies and famous movie characters. This was originally done by the madter of comedy in the 50s, by the guy who sang danced played instruments, wrote directed starred in everything, Jerry Lewis. Also called the Nutty Professor. Jerry would play multiple characters, just like Eddie can do.
Murphy es por lejos el mejor comediante de estados unidos. Esa película no se.podria hacer en este tiempo. Por qué existe tanta gente pendej, que se toma todo a pecho. Saludos desde El Salvador. ❤
34:43 I can relate to that scene. When a girl wants you as a friend but you want her romantically you just want to he someone else. Totally understand why Sherman wanted to be anything but himself that evening

funny bc for some of us our eddie murphy movies growing up were Harlem Nights, Boomerang ,and stuff like Delirious, but never saw all his goofy fat suit shit he did after. crazy how much it changed in a few years.
This film is a remake of the original 1963 film of the same name that starred the late Jerry Lewis. In that version, Lewis played a professor named Julius Kelp that made a potion that transformed him from a clumsy, unattractive professor into the suave, attractive and overconfident Buddy Love to make Ms. Purdy fall madly in love with him. Same movie but different. 😁
If u haven't seen the original, it's a masterpiece. Jerry Lewis wrote produced directed acted dance choreographed all his movies. He could sing and play many instruments. His downstairs walk for the movie Cinderfella alone, should have won an Oscar! He should have won many Oscars for his original. But he was always snubbed, considered just a comedian. Watch, Nutty Professor!
Great reaction. I always liked this movie. It's a perfect combination of absurdist comedy and genuine heart-felt moments. Oh, and per what you were talking about regarding the government listening then giving you ads based on what you talk about; your phone's microphone never turns off. It's the same with all smart phones. Even if you're not using your phone the mic is still listening to what you're saying. I think this is how they get information about what they market to people. It sounds crazy but might actually be happening. It's already been proven to be happening with Alexa so why not smart phones, in general?

Believe it or not, Murphy was optioned to play the Grinch before Carrey got the title role

He played the exercise at the beginning too 😂
Yes. That really was Montell Jordan on stage singing. One of his most famous songs is "THIS IS HOW WE DO IT". Sometime in the mid-90s
16:19 Yes thats the actual R&B singer Montell "Thisishowwedoit", Jordan.
Fun fact: Most of the dialogue between Murphy and Chapelle in the second stand up show scene was improvised
Comedy genius should always be able to improvise they make comedy gold
