  • Last week I got to spend a few hours doing one of my most favorite things - learning at a conference!
    And I had to share what was presented about tendon healing:
    Tendon injuries will affect 1 in 10 of us
    Tendons account for 30-50% of all sports injuries
    Tendons have a lack of tissue turnover, which leads to a lack of tissue renewal
    Exercise is the only "drug" that promotes tendon growth
    Tendons are responsive to load, but are a slow responding tissue, so programs need to be longer than 12 weeks
    So what does that mean for you trying to heal your elbow?
    It IS going to take time to heal and that is completely normal
    There are NO quick fixes - anything that promises to "Fix" your tennis elbow in 5 minutes....Nope!
    A structured, progressive program is optimum to heal tendons
    Exercises that load the tendon are essential for healing
    Think of load like a drug:
    too little and it's ineffective
    too much and you get side effects
    just right and it's beneficial

    I've had the condition for about 5 weeks now. I've managed to get rid of the tight muscles, which helped a lot. Now, it's just tendon pain when I bend the elbow with a closed fist. It's causing me anxiety, though, because it's keeping from the gym. And I go to the gym to help my anxiety.

    So if I'm hearing you correctly, I need to stop lifting weights for 12 months in order to recover?

    Hi Emma.Ive just recently found your channel and Ime in the process of buying your book on Amazon.
    I’ve had Tennis elbow now for over 12 months and tried most of the exercises that you see on other RUclips channels and I haven’t got any where with them.
    I’ve also regrettably had two cortisone injections that only took the pain away for 3 months at a time.
    Do you think with the right procedures and exercises in your book I will be able to heal my tendons or could I have irreversible damage caused by the cortisone, wish I never had them done now.
    Hope to hear from you soon.
    Many thanks.

    Hi, can I play tennis matches if I don't have pain during play? I don't have pain anyway but it keeps being sore for 5 months on both sides. I started more committed to healing now though. And i notice some improvements already. TX!

      Awesome! Yes, you can play if it doesn’t hurt and doesn’t flare it up afterwards. Great job!

    Hey there :)
    I have been suffering from Tennis Elbow and it's been over 2 months, When i noticed that the pain is not reducing so i decided to take a full rest. It's been about 2 weeks that I have been resting my arms and not letting any useless pressure to act upon it.
    I really feel bored that I am not able to workout bcoz of this .
    How long is it gonna take to heal and are Dumbbell wrist eccentric curls helpfull in curing this ??

      Hello! I'm so sorry you are suffering with Tennis Elbow. You are in the PERFECT time frame to heal it! It gets more challenging to heal once you get past 3 months. Keep away from anything that hurts, but you can absolutely do things that don't hurt - now could be the perfect time to focus on cardio and core. Eccentrics are ESSENTIAL at healing it. Watch my other videos for more tips and keep me posted.

      @@TennisElbowQueen Hey :)
      I just wanna know that what will eccentrics do and will the tennis elbow be gone permanently after these steps?

    • @TennisElbowQueen
      @TennisElbowQueen  Год назад

      @@18_driteshkumar_ixb38 great question! The eccentrics reverse the degeneration of the tendon. Tennis elbow can be completely resolved by doing the eccentrics for long enough to allow the tendon to heal. There's always the possibility to cause further degeneration with overuse - but you would recognize the symptoms much faster and start the strategies you need to heal. Does that make sense?

    what are the length in average of every phases ^??

    • @TennisElbowQueen
      @TennisElbowQueen  8 месяцев назад

      It will be different for everyone, but once phase 1 strategies are in place, you can add phase 2 straight away. Phase 3 can start once the muscle tension has normalized and continues for 12 months. Phase 4 starts once you've been pain-free for a week. Hope that helps. You can get more info in the book.
