This thing is way too loud and isn't even usable, even tucked away in a cabinet. Plus the company doesn't accept returns so buyer beware!
You do realize that if you put the ps5 in a closed cabinet it won’t be able to get air, it’ll just be blowing out hot air and taking in hot air. I never understand why people do that to any console, it’s basically suffocating. It needs to be in an open area.
@@theUnknled The cabinet is vented out the back where this is supposed to exhaust.

It's not necessary. Ps5 runs quiet and is way cooler than PS4 and definitely PS3. If you don't clean the vents out then it's your fault. Dust will make the console run hotter.

It's not necessary, but it does help. The majority won't open up their PS5's and clean things out unfortunately, and at least having a cooler like this gives a sense of relief.
Very clean. I've been debating different coolers. This is the one I'm getting. They also sell front and back plates with round fan vents that hold filters. If you add at least one of those plates and filter to this cooler, your ps5 will turn into a portable a/c unit.
Buyer be ware the real difference is 1 degree less internally see other reviews with real testing
The volume of the fans is to be expected. 6 fans on this is still much better than my ps4. I just got my ps5 2 months ago, so the leaf blower, aka, ps4, is still fresh in my mind.
UPDATE: the fans will not turn off in sleep mode unless you
go to:
Settings - System - Power Saving - Features Available in rest mode.
And turn the power to USB ports off.
Just Charge your controllers while your ps is on!

I bet they just added the rpm from each fan to get that 10i rpm. If they all would put out 10k rpm each it would sound like a real het engine

Mime came in today and when i plug my external hard drive in the usb port when connected and powered on it doesn't work/recognize the external hard drive.. smh

They should talk to PC companies and discuss tests how to have quiet fans. I don't own one yet. However, I still wonder when they will attempt to design a cooler for Slim versions? Digital and Disc versions. I think these fans are great along with skate feet. I just stick with the console charger instead of docks because it's easier I guess. I wonder why Sony Playstation doesn't make their own coolers? Do they not want a effective system ? What are we going to do when Ps5 pro comes out? Gonna need a cooler!
These coolers aren't really "necessary " since the PS5 already has a great internal cooling system. This just further helps keep the temps lower even if its by just 1 degree.
Where is the problem with pc fans? Never had any bothering me. My high end build has 20 fans … in silent mode it cools perfectly fine … even on high sped its ok.

If I had to choose which one, I would do vents because I don't really game for more than 30 minutes 😅 If I was heavily gaming on my PS5 then a SCRY Artic cooler would be a better investment. Just keep in mind that you will hear the fans, it doesn't bother me since my Gaming PC has a lot of fans as well and I either play with loud volume or headsets

I don't have this brand but I did buy exhaust fan for my PS5 slim and it brought down the temperature about 40°👍 from 140 to 100

You don't 'need' it, but having an active cooler does keep it cooler, and for someone who care's about their products might want this, so I wouldn't say its a waste. If you have it, you like the design and features, then no one can tell you its a waste ;)

No, its designed to keep all the dust and heat in the console! 😂 Mine never ever overheated in 4 years benefits the manufacturer!
The so called usb port expanders tend to heat up the front area of the PlayStation 5 even without having anything plugged in, will this fan help cool that down
idk if this fan will specifically cool down the front, but overall, the PS5 will experience cooler temps

It doesn’t hurt to have something that helps cool off your PS5. There might be those that have tight closed spaces that prevent their PS5 having lots of ventilation, so something like this would help
Nothing wrong with this. Which is strangely something id never say because a lot of the fans made for console systems are garbage.
But the concept is the same for PCs that use fans as exhaust.
If done right, it can work and be useful.

So mine came in and honestly the fans are too loud for me especially when you are used to the PS5 being virtually silent, and my console sits up on my computer desk which is right in front of me, so I will just remove the cooler.

Yeah its definitely audible the closer you sit next to it, but if you use headphones, you wouldn't hear it

This one doesn't, only the original, but they are coming out with a new version for the slim. Hopefully I'll be able to try it out when it comes out

If you're playing your PS5 for long amounts of time, I think it is worth it since it does drop its temps

@@somerandomfan2096 Damages it ? I don't think thats possible lol as for a waste of money , that comes down to the individual in my opinion. There's nothing wrong with buying things to help your PS5 keep cooler temps. Is it necessary ? No. But does it reduce temps ? It sure does and for me thats worth it.
Why does mine do this when i start it up it makes a really loud grinding noise is this normal or not
When it first starts ? It does make a grinding noise, I believe its something to do with how the PS5 begins sending power to the cooler, but then it goes away

Good but no adjustable usb fan speed controller cost only 2$ why no implemented so we can go from 10000RPM to 8000RPM for reduce noise not all people need high RPM only in hot countries above 35°C (95°F) maybe

does the extra usb on the back serve as a power transfer? the thing I like about my ps3/xbox 360 nyko coolers is,
they continue running for a short period of time after the console is shut off to ensure the system is fully cooled down. these newer coolers that draw power from the console shot off immediately when the system is off not fully cooled down.
Unfortunately no, once the PS5 shuts down, it also shuts down the power delivery to USB slots, so this cooler doesn’t retain any power itself, only when the PS5 is supplying it.
If Sony added custom time options for Rest Mode, then it would be nice to be able to have it on for a few minutes

Yup the back port works the same. I had my RGB headphone stand connected to it

Yes the fans are exhausting, which means it blows air out
