I use an older version of the Tikka T1X MTR (16 Inch barrel) in a Grey Birch LaChassis chassis for PRS22 ELR here in Ireland. To shoot to 425 yards (390m) to 625 yards (573m), I use an Era-Tac Adjustable Mount with 20 MRAD mounted on an MDT 40 MOA (12 MRAD) Picatinny Rail in order to dial my Delta Optical Stryker HD 4.5-30x56 FFP (LRD-1T) with 26.7 MRAD of available elevation (before using reticle the hold-over) using SK Long Range Match. I like the rifle very much. Thanks for the review.
I shoot SK long range match in my Tikka as well, and I shoot 25m and 50m benchrest in a custom made chassis, and can usually shoot hole on hole. I also shoot outdoors out to 300 meters with the same set up and can shoot sub MOA. Tried all the different ammo available here in the UK, and the only other ammo that could shoot the same is Eley match, but at almost twice the price, it isn't worth the cost.
I have this in a tikka t1x UPR love it. The most accurate 22lr ive used. Looking to build a 457 in a MDT chassis. Already have this chassis in a t3x varmint. Super awesome build very comfortable chassis
I'm running a T1X in an XRS chassis for NRL22. It performs ridiculously well for the price point and just works. Mine also prefers SK Long Range. A new barrel is on the list to sort out the balance, its far too butt heavy, even with a full suite of weights.
Thanks for the review, I've been looking for a 22LR for my son to get into comp shooting and I love the fact that you have a scope available on your site as most of the scopes (Burris) I was looking at were well over $1000 and the fact it comes with rings and shades is awesome. I think the length of pull might be a bit long for a 11-year-old but as he progresses I figure he could step up into a MDT chassis. I took him to the range today and he was hitting groups at 50 yards using peep sites on a Winchester Wildcat. Besides the SK long range what else is a good ammo to use. Currently have a crap ton of the Federal Automatch 40gr ammo.
What I would recommend you do is buy a variety pack of the match ammo find out what it really likes then buy that in bulk. Also buy the cci Standard velocity as a training round for him. Thanks, yeah Its a pretty great scope I've been using mine in 3 different matches works great! (Now I need more practice!)
Are there any important differences in shooting at 100 meters, more precisely, how important are the optics? I have a meopta 3-18 and I shoot with 18 magnification, would it be better if I had one with 24 or 30 magnification, would it be easier to make a good one? group.
hi Niko, yes there are differences, basically zeroing at 50M on a rimfire is the equivalent of zeroring a centerfire rifle at 100 (wind doesnt impact the bullet trajectory) optics make it easier, yes you can do it with 18X you can even do it with 14X if you are very very skilled, if you are going for tiny target at 100meters or yards then i would recommend 25X being your minimum magnification for that purpose. more magnification on a benchrest makes it easier.
Yesss finally the T1X. Done well mate. Covered everything. The mag is supposed to catch like it does to stop it from hitting the deck. I don’t mind it does that. Did you have any ejection problems? Mine every now and then won’t kick it out due to the ejector spring not releasing. Bit annoying but I can live with it as mines a tac driver!
actually now im starting to have some problems, feeding, occasionally the round will just crash right below the breach. like now its happening 1/50 rounds
Maybe my trigger gauge is inaccurate but my Tikka trigger is breaking at under 1lb. I have at least 6 targets on my fridge under 0.30 with CCI SV, Tac-22 and Eley Standard.
I have been looking at this or a CZ 452 Varmint as my maxed out Savage mk2 needs a friend. You can't have to many 22LR guns in my opinion. I am a huge CZ fanboy but I hate their unwillingness to embrace drilled and tapped for a pic rail. I know you can get dovetail to pic rail bases, but come on CZ join the 21st century.
I’d really love to get another 22 rifle, but what puts me off is the inconsistency in ammo, or rather, finding the ammo that works best with the rifle. Ammo choice is not that great down where I live.
I wish I could shoot some NRL events, but there is nothing down here in South Texas. I have been recently shooting the CZ 457 Jaguar, and if your video is a testament, this Tika doesn't stand a chance.
Same in Illinogood this dumbassocrat state COULD HAVE A lot of things for people to do but nothing exists. Everything they have is for the rich period .
What size rings did you use? I just bought that gun and I have a 6-24x50, I also purchased a 20 moa mdt rail Just trying to figure out what rings to you so that I can get the scope close to the barrel
I can constantly get under one inch groups at 50 yards with my 2 to 7 crossfire 2 and Aguila super extra it absolutely blows me away every time I take it out to shoot I also am just using the stock came with but I removed the barrel support and just run it free floated ps it's the 20inch barrel
did u take that plastic pit off under the barrell? my 17 hmr started to shoot good after a dremeling stock inners and removal of that plastic. So it was tru freefloat.
Reading reports from others removal of that part to free float the barrel will not necessarily improve it. In your case you report it did but not everyone sees an improvement. It is good you asked to find out what was done with the rifle in this review.
This w my A-Tec supressor för 22lr and subsonic ammo is disgusting. All you hear is the click from the firing pin striking, then the THWACCK on the paper, nothing else.
looking to pick up a Discovery ED-PRS 5-25x56 USA and Canada? you can find one at www.cdnprecision.com/shop

Really excited about getting my hands on a lefty variant.
Excellent way to hone one’s shooting skill.
SK Long Range Match is amazing with T1x. Ive yet to try Lapua Long Range, but so far Sk has been clearly the best performer out of the ones Ive tried.
I have this in a tikka t1x UPR love it. The most accurate 22lr ive used. Looking to build a 457 in a MDT chassis. Already have this chassis in a t3x varmint. Super awesome build very comfortable chassis

Great video. I got this in 16” for my wife as her first rifle. She loves it.

Arken's scope EP5 5-25x56mm under $700.
Dropped mine in a KRG Bravo, love it! Such a great rifle, shoots great and cycles reliably.
That's a chassis I have yet to try!
Great video. Looks like a strong contender to get in the Dayattherange Z Challenge or Dayattherange Smallest Group Challenge.😁😁
Lapua polar (lot tested) through my 16'' T1X groups .375. With cortina tuner, one ragged hole at 50 yards.
Awesome review sir ! I just started looking into these rifles 😮

@@EpikArms feeding problems are due to the mag. New mag will sort that issue.

The dove tail has held me back on buying a CZ 457 every time I think about getting one. I love my Tikka Tac A1, so I've been eyeballing the T1X.
Great review as always
thanks Alex!

Hey the trigger in the T1x is the same as the T3x. I use a Timney 2 stage trigger in all 3 of mine Tikkas.
I really don’t know the shooting sequence of the ammo brands, but you might have to consider fouling effects helping to shrink the groups.
Nice video!
yes i had. i had showt10 rounds before shooting these 3 groups of 10
Owsome review, great all in one stick.
Thanks 👍

Hmm I'm assuming a medium height will be perfect. Is your 6-24 a 30mm tube?
@EpikArms yes it is its a bushnell match pro 30mm tube
I can constantly get under one inch groups at 50 yards with my 2 to 7 crossfire 2 and Aguila super extra it absolutely blows me away every time I take it out to shoot I also am just using the stock came with but I removed the barrel support and just run it free floated ps it's the 20inch barrel
Love my Tikka t1x. I know you wanted mine for a while lol
you made me a promise.... that promise was broken
Do you have any experience with the mdt field stock?
no sir!
Ruger American Rimfire (standard)? How does it compare
How did it shoot with the chassis?
did u take that plastic pit off under the barrell? my 17 hmr started to shoot good after a dremeling stock inners and removal of that plastic. So it was tru freefloat.
For the review I did not

Any update on the Tikka T1X vs CZ 457???
i totally forgot! ill get on it
What about the dry fire because the 457 are said to be proofed
I've dry forest my 457 a lot. Never had an issue
What happened to that comparison video with CZ?
ive been delayed! thanks for your patience!
Sore from 22? 🤔
Hey Alex I just went to go see what you all have on your website and I'm getting shut down. Keeps saying site can't be reached
Hey! Thanks for letting me know, it should work now!
This w my A-Tec supressor för 22lr and subsonic ammo is disgusting. All you hear is the click from the firing pin striking, then the THWACCK on the paper, nothing else.
i shoot 0.44 with SK+ @50......maybe you need more practice ?
Doubtfully. If you've seen my centerfire videos I'm capable of of 0.5" at 100m. Thanks for the feedback
Bună ziua cît costă o armă?
