Text with Swami Tadatmananda's translation available here: arshabodha.org/teachings/upad...
Vedanta is not a subject matter, a spiritual doctrine, or a philosophy - it is a method of self-inquiry (atma-vichara) based on the wisdom (vidya) of the ancient rishis, as found in the Upanishads, a part of the sacred Vedic scriptures. This method can lead you to discover your true, divine nature (sat-chit-ananda atma) and gain moksha, freedom from suffering.
Swami Tadatmananda is a traditionally-trained teacher of Advaita Vedanta, meditation, and Sanskrit. For more information, please see: www.arshabodha.org/

Thank you Swamiji for an exquisite lesson from wise Shankara. I really love your metaphor with polaroid camera to explain how the learning process works. It really is like that. Some of the image on my photo is coming through which is very encouraging, but it is still " work in progress " . ❤🙏

“Grok,” is an all encompassing understanding. It is a term from Robert Heinlein’s book, “Stranger in a Strange Land.” To “grok,” something is a Martian understanding. The story is about a child of pioneers on Mars, who is left behind to be raised as a Martian. He comes back to Earth and shares experiences and water with his new earthling friends. I read this science fiction novel in highschool and as a young person, really enjoyed it.

I also read it in high school and really grokked it! I do not yet grok Advaita Vedanta.

Namaste, Swamiji, yes, in all honesty no human being myself included meets all of those qualifications given. Anybody claiming otherwise is delusional. 🙏

There’s a typo in the title. It should be ch16 instead of ch17.
